Also if you're an American and thinking about moving to Asia, get the Charles Schwab debit card before leaving. The CS card credits back all of your ATM fees at the end of the month so basically you don't pay those high fees when using an ATM.
So did you use a US Debit/Credit Cars or a local Cambodian Debit/Credit card? Also what atm fees are charged for using a US Card? In Thailand, the ATMs will charge 220 baht per transaction
I have an ABA card linked to a local bank account, so I just use that. I have used other international cards, however, and they have all worked. I do not recall the fee.
maybe a strange question but do shops still take $1's and 5's USD? I read somewhere they do not which is hard to believe but I'm returning to PP in September and it would be extremely helpful to know whether there is any truth in it. Many thanks!..enjoy your videos :)
She really took you to the cleaners on that mop & bucket but I guess you’ll do a video on how to bargain another time. ( lived in PP for 7 years)
I make the conscious choice not to bargain overmuch. A few dollars extra for a mop means nothing to me, but it means a lot to these people.
That was a perfect info video and your video is just too good Eric
I appreciate that!

Good advice.

Welcome to Cambodia again Eric
Thank you, it's good to be back!
Hi Eric are you already back in Cambodia? Nice to see your video again thanks take care bye
Yes I am!
ABA has stopped issuing any USD bills except 100s
Realllly? When did that happen? A fee months ago, I'm certain I was able to pull 20s out of a machine!
@@SecondLifeTravels1 it was about a couple months ago
@@CamboVlogs Awwwww
Thanks Eric , a really enjoyable and useful video about money , is it easy to open an ABA account when living in Cambodia ?
simon
I'm not sure. My employer took care of all that for me!
Can you do a video in Battambang? Thanks
Perhaps in the future.

They do take all USD.
I also heard that small USA bills are being shunned, could it be true?
Purchasing by ABA QR code is always in dollars?
There are different QR codes for both currencies.
In Cambodia they used USD too right.
Yes, dollars and riels equally.
Did you find your apartment and how much per month?
We did find a $650 per month apartment.
For $650 it must be a mansion 😮

I want to see newer videos 📹
Taking a break for now, but maybe soon.
thanks for video...QR code will be a strong limit to our freedom...avoid it as you can..
How so? It's been great here!
😍👍
It’s a crying shame the people can get more in Cambodia than I can here in the Philippines.
It's not such a shame if you live in Cambodia!
@@SecondLifeTravels1 True, I’ll be there come May.
