Hooray! Love Elvis Costello! His catalogue is amazing. There's no one else like him. As he matures, his voice gets more and more beautiful. He does a wide variety of styles and his songwriting is top notch. A very intelligent and witty guy as well as a great guitarist. He's quite eccentric so he doesn't appeal to everyone.

“She’s filing her nails while they’re dragging the lake.” Genius lyrics.

  • @Rock_Snob

Elvis Costello & Joe Jackson brought British new wave to us rockers in the late 70’s… I loved it!

Reggae music from Elvis is simply legendary for me.

Elvis Costello wrote "Veronica" when his Grandmother was suffering from Alzheimer's Disease..Which i truly related to because at that time,, My Grandmother was suffering from it too...R.I.P Veronica & Margaret 🙏❤️

He has so much good music and so varied it's scary. His first four five albums were all fire perfect albums without a bad track. This is from his first in 1977.

    Pump it Up!

Saw Elvis Costello sing this on SNL in 1977 and bought the album the next day.

One of the best songwriters of the punk/new wave era.

Side Note: Elvis Costello is married to Canadian jazz pianist and singer, Diana Krall (since 2003). She's sold more than 15 million albums worldwide in her career. They sometimes perform together.

I got stood up on a date in 1978. It was raining, I was pissed off. So I spent the money for the date on going to see Elvis Costello instead. You could do that back then. Just turn up & pay at the door, even for acts that had already had hits & been on TV (as Elvis had at that point) I ended up seeing him half a dozen times more in the years that followed & bought the first 5 albums. A much longer relationship than anything I'd have got from that date ! Plus I only spent about half the money she'd have cost me on the night. In the end, she did me a favour.

New Wave Music is the bastard child of Punk and Disco. ✌️

He was considered to be quirky but in actuality he was a genius. This song is later 70’s. Some of my favorites are EVERYDAY I WRITE THE BOOK, ACCIDENTS WILL HAPPEN, ALISON, PEACE LOVE AND UNDERSTANDING, PUMP IT UP, RED SHOES

  • @kestrelle5345

My favorite from Elvis Costello, so thanks. "Everyday I Write The Book" is also worth a listen.

One of the greatest lyricists ever , this was 1977 and the start of a run of great albums that were all different. One of the best backing bands ever to back up a truly great songwriter.

  • @JB-Deadskins

Loved Elvis Costello back in the late 70s.. And discovering in the 90s that he was a Deadhead only solidified my respect for his songwriting.

  • @rubyswaim1441

    Best drum fills EVER!
