Tutorial 🤯
what happens if some one cant count and puts in the wrong amount of diamonds?
If not enough diamonds are put in then the system will break and not craft, if too many diamonds are put in then the extra will just stay in the diamond dropper, nothing will go wrong. The fix for not enough diamonds is as easy as emptying out the crafter and putting the items back where they belong.
I considered a system to block this, but ultimately decided it was more cumbersome than it was helpful. With the trapped chest, the hopper underneath is locked so the diamonds won’t leave until you close out of the chest, this makes it easy to double check. 7 is an awkward number to detect in Minecraft, but if this is something that might be an issue for you, this is how you can protect against it.
Feed the diamonds first into a crafter with two slots closed off (7 open), then take a comparator reading from it on subtract mode. Into the side of that comparator put a second comparator (normal mode), reading from a composter on max fill. Underneath the crafter have a hopper that is locked by a redstone torch on a solid block. Feed the crafter comparator output to this solid block with however much delay is needed for the crafter to empty completely via that hopper once filled. This way only 7 or more diamonds can enter the system. You could then use an indicator light to show players when 7 diamonds have been inserted, or you could even connect the crafter output into a system that locks out the selection panel until that crafter fills up.
