When I was a child, when the Mid-Autumn Festival was approaching, almost every household in the village made sweets with different tastes, and the neighbours shared their sweets with each other. Later, all kinds of sweets are readily available on the street, and the villagers rarely make sweets at home anymore. The young people in the village are leaving home to study or work, leaving the elderly and children at home, and then even fewer people make sweets at home. This year, I made a big mooncake and shared it with the whole village. We watched a movie together. Watching a movie while eating mooncakes is my memory of the Mid-Autumn Festival since I was very little. After I grew up, many customs have been lost in my life, but my inner desire for family reunion remains unchanged. 幸福滿滿又溫馨的過節氛圍，吃著手工月餅看著電影，雖說只是看著視頻，卻也讓人跟著視頻感受到過節的氣氛。
說真的滿讓我懷念小時候啊，印象中滿小的時侯，也有過像視頻中的情節，但長大後卻都只剩回味了，畢竟都幾十年前了，至於現在過節也都是各過各的居多了。

It reminds me of when my parents used to take us kids to watch Chinese movies in the big hall with all the other Chinese families. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 You brought back some sweet memories for me today. 😘😘 I like that so many can gather, young and old and have this kind of fun. I know preparing the snacks is a lot of work, and I am glad that the members in the community are willing to supply some of the ingredients needed to make the snacks. I was privileged enough to have lived in Guangxi and to spend a lot of time in the countryside, deep in the mountains close to Guizhou province, from 2002 to 2007. Then I moved North in Beijing and didn't have time to go back. But I keep in touch through WeChat and what I see is very similar to your life in Yunnan. When I watched your videos, it's a treasure, indeed very close to my heart, and I love them!

It has been just over a year now since my own silly dog, Chloe, passed away and left me alone. Shortly thereafter, I stumbled upon one of Apenjie's videos. I do not know if it was fate or simply the You Tube algorithm (I watch a lot of Chinese dramas), but I have been thankful for this discovery. Watching Apenjie's videos over the last year has been a source of much comfort to me. Her friends and family are always a delight; and Dawang has become a surrogate for my lost puppy. These videos allow me to experience things that have been sadly missing in my life for some time. I am old enough that all of my siblings and immediate family have passed away, so I sometimes live vicariously through others. Aside from Apenjie, Dawang, and her remarkable grandparents, I have also come to appreciate her lovely sister, Axia. Whenever she smiles, Axia reminds me of one of my favorite Japanese singers, the magical Marina Horiuchi.
