    We flipped it upside down when we did one of these boards so earth bar was on the bottom and then unscrewed the neutral bar and moved it to the right way as you have and connected it up. It gave you alot more room at the top side to dress it all nicely.
    Good work my man.

    Neutral connections on the side, similar to old Hager board's, great for new installation, complete pain for replacement, great demonstration Delroy 👍

    Great content Del. My only real gripe with the Schneider CU is the upper clearance being a little small. If the switchgear/Din rail were to be placed lower down this would be much better. Keep doing what your doing 🙏🏽👍🏽.

    The unit looks good however: why is the SPD connected to the neutral bar? (shouldn't it be connected to the ground?) and why are the live and neutrals on the opposite poles on the mains switch?

    Hey Delroy, are you sure you should have used the "Must not be connected to earth" sticker 20:06 hahah.......Im not convinced that equipment with exposed conductive parts connected to earth, aren't allowed in that house, and hopefully you HAVE connected the protective bonding to earth. Unless of course Part 2 shows how you created a faraday cage around the house.

    do you not need to seal the cable entries for fire ?

    • @themarkcarr
      @themarkcarr 2 роки тому

      No its not in the regs. The reg states that the board must be constructed of fire resistant material nothing more. Alot of manufacturers have jumped onto this and used it to sell sealing glands grommets etc but the regs don’t call for it.

  • @mrgster4889

  • @leexgx

    The spd should be a cartridge type (spd power off and just replace the cartridge) shouldn't have to replace take the cover plate off and replace the whole thing
    be nice if they would use the single slot type so both L + N is inside the same single spd

  • @anelectrician
    @anelectrician 2 роки тому

    Smart looking board.
    Why can't each circuit protection device switch be colour coded as a standard and the busbar supplied insulated ?
    Nice Upload. 👍🏿

    • @leexgx

      Some boards have quickconnect din rails so the bus bar always has a cover in it (don't really like this box, seems big fuss to install and modifications required that shouldn't be needed (cutting the bus bar) , the main switch, bus bar and spd should already be installed

  • @adierob1

    I thought for a moment you were installing a small panel heater del 😆😆 see schneider is carrying on using the *9* branding trade mark etc merlin gerin used. Incidentally if any one is interested were the *9* came from it's supposedly the width of the device ie mcb which is 9mm in French measurements

    • @newlinerealboi3434
      @newlinerealboi3434 2 роки тому
