    Thank you this content is very usefull I have a Window pc with integrated sd reader and a ipad gen 11 (I guess) i am updating my pc to a new one still windows but without micro sd port. I normally read the photos directly from the ram Before copying them to the ssd so i don't make my pc full of something that i may not need. 2 questions:
    -is the usb-c as fast as the one attached to the motherboard of my 4-5 year old window: MSI PS63 Modern 8RC so that I can open it directly?
    -is the Apple usable on windows pc?
    Thanks Again, Max

    Do sd card readers work for chromebook? If so, can it transfer data from one sd to another? I recently got a charger for my old 2ds and wanted to transfer everything to a new bigger sd card, the old sd that was already in the 2ds was a 4 gb lexar sd card, the new one is a micro sd sandisk 32gb (in an sd adapter), chromebook will only read micro sd cards and the lexar sd wouldn't fit obviously so would I be able to buy an sd reader and plug in one or both and transfer everything to the micro sd? Asking this bc obviously the only computer I have access to at the moment is a chromebook that belongs to my sister.

    I have the sandisk reader but the usb A version for 5 years already, it still works and it’s ok but it has some quality issues, at least mine did, a month or so after I got it, it “exploded”, to be more precise, for some reason the bottom black plastic cracked on it’s own… it works but transfer speeds are not that consistent (this could also be my PC’s fault) sometimes I works at full speed while other times only 30MB/s (unplugging and plugging it back again usually fixes the issue)

    Thanks! This is a really helpful video on deciding what SD read to buy. But there is still one question I have.
    Is it faster to directly tether your Fujifilm camera to your computer with a usb cable or is an SD card reader faster? I already bought an SD reader with a lightning connection for my iPhone and iPad. But I just got an M1 MacBook Pro, so now I have to decide between those two options. I couldn’t find any other videos on that topic even for other camera makers, so this could be a good topic for a future video.
    Personally, I hope direct tethering your camera is faster. I’d rather not pay filthy rich Apple for another overpriced dongle!

    • @MatthewFortner
      @MatthewFortner  3 роки тому +4

      I have found card readers to be noticeably faster than a direct camera connection, but I guess the question is how fast do you need it to be? I also try to not plug cables into the camera often because I’m weary of wear or possible dame from my clumsiness. I don’t think that is a big issue so I’m just being cautious. Some folks have had damaged the connection and needed repair.

    • @MatthewFortner

      The Pro Grade is a quality reader and I have not had a chance to test one side by side, but the SanDisk reader has been more then adequate for my needs with 64 and 128GB SD cards.
