They didn't want to be there. She was the only one 100% hellbent on finding the enemy. The others were just about ready to mutiny so to my mind it actually makes sense in that they were ready to quit and were demoralised.

So my dad has all but confirmed that The Stranger is Gandalf. One of Gandalfs many names is The Grey Stranger and as soon as I told him how he came my dad (whose read EVERY LOTR book published) said he even sounds like the race Gandalf comes from
Yeah but gandalf came to middle earth by boat and after the other blue and white wizards. (And with no memory loss) so if they changed that much it could be anyone
I am thinking that the fireballs and the fire that blasts Tirharad might just be from Mount Doom (Orodruin) erupting. That would also blacken the sky over the Southlands and allow the Uruks free movement during daylight hours. We have already seen evidence of volcanic activity along the orc tunnel - those yellowish colored patches of ground.
See, Harfoots, Stoors and Fallohides are the three races of Hobbit. Smeagol and Deagol were Stoors. Being a Brandybuck, Merry is actually Harfoot. They existed all three at the same time. Harfoots aren't "proto-Hobbits"
As a long time LOTR fan who's read The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, and The Silmarillion, watched the movies, and studied Tolkien in university, I think the Rings of Power is a great addition to the cinematic art of Tolkien. 😊
Nah you're a liar. No one with any sort of true non woke Tolkien education could watch this and call it good. It's garbage and in your heart, you know it.
I think the leaves are from the tree in Moria. I think the fire and ash scenes are from Mt. Doom erupting from what ever the Orcs and Adar have been planning.

Meteor Man is likely Gandalf, Sarumam, Rhadagast or maybe one of the blue wizards. They make a point when Nori says "You're here to help." He was sent here to fight the rising threat of Sauron.
Okay lore aside there is this weird tone shift each episode where it feels like they are just jumping from plot point to plot point. This is like something I have noticed a lot with Amazon projects even Wheel of Time. There is no shortage of resources invested in their shows no one can deny their production value. But holyshit, the writing is bad, it feels like a bunch of execs told an Ai to write a script and the ai is just crossing bulletin points after bulletin point. I think right now its HBO>Disney+andHulu>Apple>Netflix>Amazon .
The meteor man seems to be Gandalf but why make him arrive like that? They are really dwelling on him falling from the sky so that everyone took notice.
What else Helbrand is hiding? He isn't hiding anything, not from the viewers atleast. 1.He separates himself from the rest of the raft to escape and then saves Galadriel. 2. He looks at the forge and the blacksmiths like a kid inside a candy store. 3. He advises Galadriel and uses her. 4. He manipulates Pharazon. 5. He weasels himself out of prison and gets a job as a blacksmith. 6.His passion towards forging things can be seen in the forge and in the swords he forged. It doesn't take a genius to figure it out that he is Sauron.
He's not Sauron. Amongst many other reasons... if he's Sauron he wouldn't have said "no" to being king of the Southlands. But I think he's going to be working for Sauron soon, in return for a ring...
@@terimaakigaand5857 Except that he shouldn't be in Numenor at all. Remember that he was adrift at sea. They only got to Numenor out of luck (or fate). I see him as a middle-manager type, role-wise. He's not a great, mighty character. He's a flawed man who will probably be turned in to a nazgul. It's likely that Sauron is someone we haven't met yet... probably at the court of the high elves, influencing Celebrimbor and the others, getting them to make the rings of power. Sauron is probably going to be "fair" looking. He may even look like an elf.

I think Meteor Man is one of the Blue Wizards because little is known about them so Amazon can use artistic license on them. I don't think he's Gandalf, Saruman, or Radagast. They arrived in the Third Age. This show takes place in the Second Age, 2000 years before the events of The Hobbit and LOTR.

Tbh Galadriel makes me tired, she is so tense and nervous all the time and her stares are too much. Also, the south land scenes with humans could be better, the actings were so fake. I like the show in general but the details could be worked more. Best character by far is Durin. I love him.
I think the 3 women are the cult of Morgoth created by Sauron. It fits the description to a T. Plus that forge the elves are building may very well be what is used to make the Rings. I know it was supposedly forged in the fires of Mt Doom… But… Idk. There’s more too it than we think obviously.
The 9+7+3 rings were made in the forge at the Elves. Only the secret One Ring was made in Mt Doom. And Kelebrimbor made the 3 elven rings by himself after Sauron left, with the skills he learned from Sauron, but it ment those 3 were never tainted and could only be located by The One but never control them.
I thought sauron took the form of a beautiful elf to manipulate Celebrimbor into making the rings... Or am I too far ahead? That's who I thought the beautiful one was...
@@chrissysnow1984 Yes and no, He did infiltrate as a handsome elf, but he made the rings together with Kelebrimbor, but kelebrimbor made the 3 elven rings alone after. Hence why they cant be controlled by the One Ring, only seen. But Sauron can change looks at will at the time. So he could be anyone atm. Not untill he poured most of his malice into the rings did he loose the ability to take any beautiful forms.
Isildur is so selfish. Still they’re telling us all of the interesting plot that happened already off screen. Then talking about stuff they want to do or still deciding to do (Elrond mithril; Halbrand going back home). The ending was not as anti climatic they wanted it to be. At this point I’m rooting for Sauron to take over all of Middle Earth. Let’s see how long it will take the Numenors to reach their destination.
They won’t portray isildur as the great man he was in the lore, same with gilgalad, it goes against their agenda. Instead a single mother healer is better suited for the inspiration speeches.
I had hoped that isildur will be shown to be as a great hero, whose eventual fall because of the ring will be tragic. But instead he is scummy not worthy of his father's great legacy and even without the one ring corrupting him he still wouldn't have been a great king. Elendil's kinds are useless, one is MIA, one is selfish and the girl is cowardly or an idiot.
They're trying to show that Isildur (read: "men") is, as Elrond put it, "weak". i.e. men are easily corrupted, due to their nature. Tolkien really liked his pigeon-holes...
I'm just curious how big the ROP is with the high cost.... The Numenor Kingdom is the strongest mortal kingdom in your history.. especially the troops and their war fleets which are so scary...they are the strongest troops after the Morgoth troops...even in the second era they dared to attack Valinor. Which in fact is inhabited by elves, Maiars and Valars. But in the ROP I haven't seen such a terrible army and a large and scary fleet.... Don't let it be like a telenovela drama. Unfortunately, big capital is wasted.
The Forbidden love story of Middle earth The story is a love story of Galadriel's brother and Blum the baalrog. After years of fighting the forces of morgoth. Blump used to always taunt him calling him Kin slayer to get a raise out of him. Him and blum stopped their fighting at the top of the tallest mountain by the a great tree and climbed to its highest branch. They carved their combined name blumpkin and there the greatest act of forbidden love took place on that very branch. The light of the tree of valinor was molded into a new seed and the unyielding darkness was made into its fertilizer. This act of love and horror became the unspeakable act of the blumpkin never to be repeated again. After never experiencing such love in his life and from sheer disgust died. Blum in his grief and aguish took the spoils of their session and buried it deep in the misty mountains. Having nothing left but the germinating seed of his lover he went into a deep slumber forever guarding what remained. The Greatest love story fixing amazons myth of mithril.
He could be Saruman the first and most powerful of the maia, however sauron was a MAIA too.so it's definitely a wizard.so all wizards would be sent to middle earth and land in a eye looking meteor mark
The mithril story is not real: Gilgalad and Celebrimbor told Elrond that they need huge amounts of mithril asap because they will need to leave or start diminishing by spring. But Celebrimbor had previously told Elrond that he needs his forge by spring. If the Elves were in such imminent danger, why would Celebrimbor delay his forge until they have already reached the deadline? Even a master craftsman such as him would need more than a day or a week to process all that mithril. And they hadn't really seen the ore, so it's not like they knew exactly how to work with it. Related to this, the scene with the priestess from the trailer: knowing what I know now, it seems to me that she's trying to sabotage the mining in Khazad-dum. So, perhaps she knows there's a Balrog under there and doesn't want all hell to break loose or she needs the entire dwarf population there to be annihilated so her side can get the mithril. Btw, I loved the foreshadowing with Isildur.
I am sure: The stranger is neither a blue Wizard,,nor Gandalf !saruman or any Istar, he also,is not Tilion. He is an evil being either made by Sauron or even a part of Sauron, yet he is not fully under his control yet. I also think Halbrand is a human, but possessed by the spirit of Sauron. The Sword is Saurons equivalent to a wizards staff.Sauron has stored some of his powers in that Artifact and wants it back while Adar is a tortured elf who thinks he can use the sword to bevome like Sauron himself. I also say: the entire Mithril , Balros-silmarul nonsense is NOT a lie madeup by Sauron and Annatar is NOT already working from the inside and influencing Celebrimbor. It is just a bad de isionnin writi gbthe Autjors made, like so much else.
Major kudos and big thanks for continuing to make the content about this show despite the weird and temporary neckbeard army making it real hard to just be a quiet fan.
His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy There's vomit on his sweater already, mom's spaghetti He's nervous, but on the surface he looks calm and ready to drop bombs But he keeps on forgetting what he wrote down, the whole crowd goes so loud He opens his mouth, but the words won't come out He's choking how, everybody's joking now The clock's run out, time's up, over, blaow!
Yep people slop up Hollywood crap like pigs at a trough. We've really lost taste in this current generation. OHH PRETTY LIGHTS! IT'S EPIC! This is not Tolkien. Period.
It’s clearly Gandalf, how else would it explain his arc of loving hobbits and realizing they are the only ones who have a pure enough heart to take the ring to Modor? Everything makes sense in the writing
My biggest problem with what Amazon has done is that the elves act like humans, which is not Tolkien’s world. There are many more defining charcters than just pointy ears. However, the scenes with Elrond and Durin I actually liked in this episode. They captured the essence of what is a ‘dwarf’ great with Durin, and they started to scratch the surface to Tolkien’s concept of the elven race with Elrond. (despite the short hair, which I seriously don’t understand the purpose of that) Unfortunately, Galadriel is seriously not an elf. The fight scene with the soldiers was the first time this season that I felt like Galadriel was an elf, and it only lasted a minute or so. She’s not even a good portrayal of a human; she still feels like a Karen, and like most Karens you can’t take them serious. You just have to laugh 😂
If not for Galadriel i would really enjoy the series. She's just so annoying i get taken out of it :) Besides her acting, the rest is quite fun and beautiful. :) Not super strong, but fun!
This show... sigh. Red herrings are no substitute for quality writing and direction. Stupidity doesn't help either. e.g. the Kemen the wet "fisherman". (WTF?) I want to like it so much, but it's just not very good. It's beautiful, but superficial. If this show is to succeed beyond season 2, it's going to need a new direction, new writers, probably a new showrunner. It has to stop being a saturday afternoon pantomime, and get serious.
This episode for me shows how poor the writing of this show is. The problems of last episode / previous episodes is they build up plot points and then they never follow up on that or they simply do something that doesn’t make sense
The Númenórean's should be elite warriors, true über men. Nothing like ordinary men. They live longer (300-350 years, the kings even more), stand taller (7 feet, Elendil almost 8 feet), have sharper minds etc. They Númenóreans came to aide the elves in their war against Sauron. The sight of these elite warriors made Sauron put his tail between his legs, give up and escape... And in Rings of Power these warriors must be taught by Galadriel how to kill an orc. Galadriel fought four of them in the dungeons like they where complete bunglers. The Númenóreans in Rings of Power are NOTHING like the ultimate warriors Tolkien described them to be.
The Galadriel training scene was some of the worst choreography I've ever seen. I thought I was back in the 1970's watching some duff exploitation movie. The three women are some sort of cult of Morgoth. What they are doing in Middle-Earth is anyone's guess. It's certainly nothing to do with the lore. "Galadriel has thousands of years of sword fighting experience" At this point I just know I'm listening to a clown who doesn't understand the legendarium at all.
Galadriel is indeed a total Mary Sue -- she's obviously there for go-girl, female empowerment, diversity reasons -- but I didn't mind the training scene, choreography-wise. Yes, it didn't advance the story one iota, but it was technically competent. I've seen far, far worse sword fights.

The Istari (the Wizards), Sauron, Melian and Tilion are Maiar, who like the Valar, belong to the race of angelic spirits called the Ainur.
Maia and Vala would be the singular form.

Try thousands.. and yeah they should all be highly skilled

So my dad has all but confirmed that The Stranger is Gandalf. One of Gandalfs many names is The Grey Stranger and as soon as I told him how he came my dad (whose read EVERY LOTR book published) said he even sounds like the race Gandalf comes from
There were these blue wizards that showd up and one mysteriously went missing after traveling south. Guessing thats the meteor man
As much as I love me some Gandalf the Grey I'm kinda hoping it's not him bc that would be in opposition to Tolkien lore
Is it true that Think Story got a tattoo of Galadrial freeing a butterfly on his lower back? (I hope not)

Thanks for the explanations. Missed a couple. Too many actions & talk in this serie which doesn't make sense, maybe have to wait to the end but I think many have already given up. Meteor Man is likely Gandalf, Sarumam, Rhadagast or maybe one of the blue wizards. They make a point when Nori says "You're here to help." He was sent here to fight the rising threat of Sauron.
That Mithril was 100% not Tolkien and made up for the show. It's so stupid.
@@echoechoecho7142 ya the more I find out about the lore behind it I realize how the show butchered it.
Okay lore aside there is this weird tone shift each episode where it feels like they are just jumping from plot point to plot point.
Copium much?
He's not Sauron.
Amongst many other reasons... if he's Sauron he wouldn't have said "no" to being king of the Southlands.
But I think he's going to be working for Sauron soon, in return for a ring...
@@w0mblemania He said No bcoz he wanted to be in Numenor corrupting the people to worship Morgoth.

It's likely that Sauron is someone we haven't met yet... probably at the court of the high elves, influencing Celebrimbor and the others, getting them to make the rings of power.

Why is Eminem there? 💀
He's so Gandalf. The whole song about "wonder and wander" was pretty heavy handed.
a wizard is never late...........now what Gandalf said to Frodo in FOTR is getting very meaningful
i have been hoping this show would pick up but amazon is dragging it out the story like Dragon Ball Z episodes
Elrond already told celembrimbor if the mithril who can tell the king so secrets out and elrinds oath to durin not kept
Every time I see the picture of The Dweller, I think of Aniken Skywalker.

The Forbidden love story of Middle earth
The story is a love story of Galadriel's brother and Blum the baalrog.
Is probably morgth Clone or something so Galadril can have girl power moment with a piece of morgath
I would have liked seeing Nori lose some fingers or a hand as a result of that freeze.
that long-haired guy getting stabbed in the stone carving looks a lot like the Stranger
Beleg or Turin more likely.
I’m thinking Mt Doom erupts that’s what the explosion is. And it blocks the sun and destroys the land for humans.
I know exactly what will happen next I'll fall asleep again in episode 6

One thing really bothered me. Calibrimbore Says that he tested the mythrill? Where did he get it if they didn't even know it existed yet?!
It's the piece Durin gave to Elrond last episode. Elrond handed it over for testing since Celebrimbor already suspected mithril exists.

@@velvetelvis999 they tested it, and returned to Elrond
My biggest problem with what Amazon has done is that the elves act like humans, which is not Tolkien’s world. There are many more defining charcters than just pointy ears.
However, the scenes with Elrond and Durin I actually liked in this episode. They captured the essence of what is a ‘dwarf’ great with Durin, and they started to scratch the surface to Tolkien’s concept of the elven race with Elrond. (despite the short hair, which I seriously don’t understand the purpose of that)
Unfortunately, Galadriel is seriously not an elf.
Completely agree, and what makes it worse is that she was one of my favorite characters from the books that I remember the most.
@@Luz4SiKio i at least hope that they're gonna make her change somewhat and become more emotionally different than just angry. :)

It's beautiful, but superficial.
If this show is to succeed beyond season 2, it's going to need a new direction, new writers, probably a new showrunner. It has to stop being a saturday afternoon pantomime, and get serious.
I sure the stranger is one of the Blue wizards
