My three year old son and I are amazed at the power of the train engines and the length of the trains. We live in Japan. Most of the trains are electric hybrid. The length of the trains are shorter. Thank you so much for your video footage. I have loved trains since I was a kid. Outstanding.
Please keep the great work Coming Young Man , Love the varieties , changes of pace , locations and of course the various types of trains , all makes for great and tireless viewing ! Thank You !
42:04 9901 has graffiti great catch and also the engine sounds are different the first one 4393 is humming while the 9902 and 9901 is howling great video!
I hate to say it but I must give credit to some nice graffiti on the cars of train at 16 + minutes in. Great color. I need to get shots of them and make some decals. for my models. On the other hand. Great work.
the first one was amazing, i wish i could be there and watch that train go by forever, brilliant camera work ! (the drone coulda been smoother though haha but thanks)
Outstanding train footage. Thanks Spencer. You are the master of camera angles especially when recording above the railroad tracks while the train is moving.Keep bringing it to us.
Union Pacific - MY kind of railroad service. How 'bout, if you can (and when you've got time), heading over to Cheyenne and capture some footage of their #844 steam locomotive, or perhaps the #4014 Big Boy or #3985 Challenger as they're undergoing their massive overhauls and restoration? They're due back on the rails by 2019, and #3985 has already been in service for a little more than 35 years since her initial restoration.
Russell L. Smith Yeah, so glad the great ole' steam giants are coming to actual service on massive RR companies instead of mini excursions like tour trains. Like ATSF 3751, that 4-8-4 Northern has been with us for a bit, and it is still making me shiver for its service. Union Pacific's Challenger is probably gonna stay on Metrolink's rail or be on the hills of Wyoming. Metrolink let the UP Challenger run on their RR, on the Pasadena subdivision.
Putting too much power on the front end would strain the drawbars to the breaking point. So they distribute the extra power to either mid train or at the end. I used to cut in 5 or 6 then another 5 on the end of a very long coal train heading to the Kaiser Fontana, Ca. steel mill.
This is keeping my toddler quiet as he is watching in amazement.
Nice I should try this. Better then cartoons

I like a formation when two locos are facing towards the front and 3 towards the back. That's an awesome formation.

Atchison, Topeka, & Santa Fe Warbonnet DPU @ 5:07.
Ive never seen a train so long that it needs engines in the midddle. That's crazy

Any one noticed the top union pacific train at 28:00?
I don't understand the design of those older container hauling well cars. Why such massive extra metal structure on those compared to newer types?

California
I could love the US just for the awesome fk off freight trains alone...
At 29:36 does anyone know the purpose of engines in the middle of the train?
Sam Cusimano they are there for DPU duty
DPU?
Sam Cusimano distributed power unit
