  • 17 pots of extra(smaller bulbs and bulbils) later, I've finished my repotting of Pleiones for the year.
    4 Blue Display pots
    3 large Terracotta Display pots
1 large glazed Black Display pot
There were over 60 pots before I started cleaning up the 4 Blue pots... close to 80 in total. They're not all as prolific. My Shantung Suphurium has gone down to ONE bulb and is the most expensive cultivar... 😕🤔 a bit of a worry !

      Thank you.
If you can achieve cold nights, (near freezing)(5°>10°C might be cool enough) you'll be able to grow them in Florida.
      Cheers

The potting mix~ it looks like a general potting mix? I noticed by the other comment that they might appreciate a cooler winter temp? How is the watering in winter vs summer? Thanks. Those are some tiny bulbs!

You're right. It is a general potting mix that I get by the .5 ton from a depot 20 kms east of here and then I off load it from my ute into large containers. My liquid fertiliser supplies all that they require.
They go outside during the winter and get soaked and chilled(2° C)(no frost this close to the ocean). The rain eliminates any soluble mineral build-up. I begin feeding them when I see the first tiny flower spike emerging and it's weakly/weekly after that. I have to keep a close eye on the terracotta pots during the summer as they dry out quickly(all of them are off the ground on a metal mesh bench... minimise slugs/snails, ants and worms) so I sometimes have to water more often.
      Cheers
