This is marvelous, but since you seem quite knowledgeable on the subject and i cant find any other sources, what was the method of sigil creation that was used to create the 72 keys of solomon?
This is actually something I don't know. Legend would have it that these are the signs revealed by the demons themselves, rather than 'worked out' like some of the planetary and Olympian sigils we know today.
@@FoolishFishBooks interesting. Why would a demon reveal his name to solomon willingly? Isnt that supposed to be a really important part of the demon which gives it its power?
In the testament of Solomon. Solomon is given a ring of power by one of God's high rank archangels. This ring forced the demons to be subjected to Solomon..and it's said that he employed some of them to aid in the construction of the temple
I’ve heard from someone that they used a sigil as their phone Lock Screen and that seemed to work somehow, from what I’ve heard sigils work just fine instead of seals hope this helps!😊

Also, the sacrifice of different animals and fresh blood for offerings give me the sense that that is coming no mess with. I never was practiced this, or it didn't cross my mind. However, while reading those books, I had vivid and evil dreams. I know other Jewish men who were living next to me. @@FoolishFishBooks i saw your review video of the book, I paused the video many times to read carefully everything from every page I could. Unfortunately is not what I m looking for, I don’t want to Obey the spirits to come and do what I want. My Guardian is a Daemon so I want to make a proper evocation. I think I can call him without any ritual but I want to put a proper effort and to know how many things I can about him. And I don’t think necessarily I need the sigil to be in a Circle or accompanied by another spirit Angel/Demon. Is exhausting how many books are written is only to Obey and use protection.
I'm afraid not. To be honest with you, I'm first and foremost a collector of beautiful books. With the Veritable Key of Solomon, only the first printing had colour repros and that is no longer available. I'm reluctant to the idea of paying that kind of money for essentially a bunch of photocopies edited and bound with all the flair of an accountancy manual 😜 I think the 2 Sibley Keys I own probably cover most of the contents of the VKoS (if not more), and at least they contain IMAGES of a beautiful book (and in the case of J. Peterson's edition, actually IS a beautiful book!)... As for the commentary of the VKoS, you've probably worked out from my reviews so far that I experience Dr. Skinner's style as a string of condescending yet unsubstantiated claims, which really irritates me... So while I'm not saying I'll never get it, I think I've got much more interesting volumes in the works that are more worthy of all of our time and definitely of my money! 😉 (Oof! That was a harsher response than I'd anticipated to your perfectly reasonable question🤣 No offense meant to you or Dr Skinner, just an insight into why I don't think I want many more of Dr Skinner's books, though to my chagrin - and secret delight - Dr. John Dee's Spiritual Diaries might be unavoidable 😜)
The pre Red Wheel Weiser first edition first printing it a better issue.I do not know whether Weiser York Beach reprinted Peterson or not. It looks like Red Wheel Weiser greatly dehanced the edition. Narrow gutters, pictorial cover, the only new thing I see is Peterson's errata bound into your copy. Looks like Red Wheel Weiser spared every expense. It's like a paperback with a case around it, but that's the 21st century for us. The first edition has a dust jacket, the gutters are wider, the paper is better, and the printing is crisp. Red Wheel is not the Sam Weiser I knew in New York. The copies I have are all Weiser, York Beach. As far as Peterson's effort (Sloane 3825) goes it was best for its time, however only four manuscripts were available to him at that time. I have many gripes with Peterson's ed one is he was not completely faithful to his source in the fifth book/part. True enough as Turner's translation, but his manuscript's scribe took a different tack in his arrangement. And did not take into account Reginald Scot's contribution mentioning him only in passing. And does not mention that the content of four of the five books were already circulating in print (several in English) at the same time as the its compilation. He also gets Johann Weir's dates wrong -- the first appearance of Pseudomonarchia was 1577 in the 5th edition of de Praestigiis. Wier revised and enlarged every edition of de Praestigiis from 1563 (1st ed) until his death in 1588. There is also a German translation of the 1577 or 1583 ed (6th ed. last in his lifetime) of de Praestigiis published in 1586 that includes Pseudomonarchia. As comparing this with Skinner's effort (Harley 6483) I find Skinner's efforts overpriced and over compensated; Peterson's edition is the better of the two. I am not a fan of Golden Hoard bindings, or unnecessarily using coated paper stock; in general the bindings are fragile and the coated stock makes them unnecessarily heavy. I find Skinner's commentaries cringeworthy. Skinner rearranged some of the text, his insistence that Smart's Dr Rudd is the same as Thomas Rudd (1583-1656) the engineer is unfounded and ludicris. If you look at all the Rudd/Smart mss in the Harley collection you'll see they are all transparent plagiarisms which opens a large can of worms. And begs the question if not Rudd then did Smart invent a Dr Rudd to detract attention from his efforts. Better to argue with someone who doesn't exist, eh?
@@FoolishFishBooks You're very welcome. I forgot to mention the first first has a textured cloth case reminiscent of (alas not the same as) the older buckram bindings. I think you can still find affordable copies, I found one on the Weiser Antiquarian web site a year or so ago. Treat bookseller descriptions with skepticism Red Wheel editions are sometimes treated as the true first first; which they are not. Still if you do a lot of traveling and want something interesting and portable to read then I would go with a Red Wheel ed it will quickly get properly care worn. The pages of the first first look like glued in folded signatures (not perfect bound like a paperback) they maybe smyth sewn (like the old Dover editions) but I cannot really tell. In any event it seems studier than the Red Wheel.

I have this book. It's just medieval chemistry (alchemy). In some of the "spells" it tells you to cover your face as the fumes can kill you. Cause you know, if you mix certain elements or chemicals together the fumes can kill you. As medieval people didn't have an understanding of chemistry like we do today, they thought it the works of demons, or spirits.
@@rutherford5247 Nah, it's a false lie. You don't really become it's master, you're just selling your soul to the devil for worldly riches. Jesus is the way to heaven, Jesus will save you. If you truly believe in Jesus, no demon can harm you if you call his name
Foolish Fish thanks for the reply. I had a demon follow me when I was younger for being careless with some of my practices so I’m a bit more careful when dealing with demonology.
I'm already using it LoL. The only reason why I was interested in looking at the older Goetia versions is because Dr. Skinner told me that there are times of the day or night including what direction you must face for better success with evocation and the Demons of Magick / Goetia book basically proverbially says "fuck that, it doesn't matter" where as the oldschool way recommends strict protocol. Maybe it doesn't matter, who knows right? LoL
@@carlosjewett6234 I think Denis said in his video that he doesn't practice the Ars Goetia, he's just a occult book collector. Actually I'm the one who is trying to mix different Solomonic ritual methods for experimentation purposes.
Got a friend who is studying how the demon hierarchies evolved. Amusingly enough, according to his research, Ars Goetia is basically a clusterfuck being a reconstruction of demon evocation from a text that intentionally cut out the evocation instructions because it wanted to mock the idea without giving enough info to actually perform the operations. This reconstruction didn't include entirely accurate information, doing such things as downplaying the "Four Great Kings" demoting one of them to a lesser King (Paymon/Paimon) and getting the names of the others off (The only accurate one being Amaymon). So yeah, the most cluster-F grimoire is the one that became most popular. GG I suppose.
@@starshade7826 I disagree, go to UA-cam channel Glitch Bottle and look up the interviews with Dr. Stephan Skinner. He dedicated his life in translating these grimoires and he lays out the missing puzzle pieces to properly use the Ars Goetia. But if that is your opinion then you have a right to it, but I really never had issues using the Goetia and I never get caught up in the dogma of who is king and who's not, I just do the work and get results I'm seeking.

In terms of my decision re. Rudd's Goetia or Peterson's Lemegeton, it looks like I'm going to have to get both now :)
Thanks again Denis!
The books are there but to get them is very difficult why.but we all need to study deep and move in life.

It's odd given the role King Solomon plays in the Bible that his testiments were never put in. Then again I'm also someone who asks what became of the original copies of Occultic and Religious texts that were copied down by the original scribes
Hello, I'm loving the channel so far.
I noticed that you've done a few reviews on books from Nephilim Press. Could you do a review on the Grimiore of Tiamat? It's a very inexpensive book, at least on Book Depository.
Thank you and keep up the INCREDIBLE content!
@@FoolishFishBooks I see. Hopefully your list gets well. Like I said before keep up the great work!
Grimoire of Tiamat?
Too edgy, modern text, and written by at least one BALG member (Asenath Mason).
Hard pass unless you like literally cutting yourself to evoke anything.
@@starshade7826 sorry for the late response. Is it really that bad? I've only heard of it and never really looked into it. Well thanks for the warning.
@@wyattcoverdale6979 maybe unwillingly?

In the testament of Solomon. Solomon is given a ring of power by one of God's high rank archangels. This ring forced the demons to be subjected to Solomon..and it's said that he employed some of them to aid in the construction of the temple

Hey. I own the dame edition. I wanted to know of i can use sigils of these spirits instead of seals. Is there anything that wouldn't work?

I have been studying the Book of Salomon (a different version ) years ago.
I have to admit the way they are written iort of getting you tricked.
That is all good. However, when I saw the names of Demons on the Salomon seal, that gave me red flags.
Also, the sacrifice of different animals and fresh blood for offerings give me the sense that that is coming no mess with. I never was practiced this, or it didn't cross my mind. However, while reading those books, I had vivid and evil dreams. I know other Jewish men who were living next to me.
Also was studying these books, and I could see by his face he was struggling with some nighmares. But who knows ?
Maybe it do not work and it's just text. However my gut's telling me not to play with regardless if it's work or not.

Look into the work of Jake Stratton Kent. The Grimorium Verum was close to his heart for this very reason.
Is there a review of Skinner's and Rankine's Veritable Key of Solomon in the works?
(Oof!
The Veritable Key of Solomon is a different book? From the lesser key of Solomon

Does this book seriously expect me to have the ring of Solomon made out of Silver ??? The book may just be outdated.
Hahaha! Outdated is an understatement 😂
Lol!
Silver is quite cheap nowadays. Plus both it and the pentagram do look like nice accessories for less magickal moments
Thank you for this fascinating insight! The pre Red Wheel 1st edition sounds like the one to have... if you can find it, let alone afford it!
I still haven't found a version that has the name of the daemon who stole my RSA Keys,....

Nonsense comment.

9:55. “The Authority of the Christian”!?
Hmm... And the immediately following sentences?
So which one is better in regards for ritual, Dr. Rudd Goetia or the Lemegeton?
I'm already using it LoL. The only reason why I was interested in looking at the older Goetia versions is because Dr. Skinner told me that there are times of the day or night including what direction you must face for better success with evocation and the Demons of Magick / Goetia book basically proverbially says "fuck that, it doesn't matter" where as the oldschool way recommends strict protocol. Maybe it doesn't matter, who knows right? LoL
Denis Poisson do you go solely based off the demons of Magick, or do you mixed different methods from different books?
You should get LaVey's Bible as well.
