Just started following you, you are a gent and so down to earth. Beats all the other youtubers who think it's OK to spend loads on cars to then try smash them up. Keep going bud.
Yeppers, I have a Savage x I converted to an XL. I have the Robinson racing spur on mine with the same LRP IN it. I do the same on the slipper, tight as I can get it! And yes, the Robinson spur would make a big difference. If you can find d one. I've had my Savage for 20 plus years. I retired it, though.
Heavy Duty Spur (Aluminum/Hard Anodized) will be a good upgrade, the clutch shoes & bell look a bit rough, shoes look overheated, looks as if bits have came off and infused them self's to other shoes. That fly-wheel looks like a cheap knock-off version of the Reds Racing Tetra 4 shoe clutch, they have 3 settings L-M-H were yours has 2 settings. Reds are little more expensive but they do work well with high power engines, like your LRP 32 Also I noticed your slipper pad was shiny/glazed, little tip for that is to use some light/fine sand paper to make it slightly rough! It'll slip less. You most likely know but when you fit the new spur, full tighten then back off 2/3mm gearbox & diffs will thank you for it. Yeah it'd be nice for us viewers to watch you strip the gearbox & diffs down but.. pain in the bottom for your good self = no more savage run fun.
if the slipper cant slip the gear take it all and strips out because it has no choice but to keep turning at all times thats real ruff if in mud or stuck . the shoes could be getting stuck and when real hot the high spots wear will wear faster till there flat. the trans could be part of it as well it does travel over time bearing some wear going bad . iat least all hs steal gears trans /slipper will stop any melting .the clutch will be the weak link after mods. hard to pin point
Hay bud, a little off topic but I’m getting my boy into nitro but the car is going to be far too quick to learn on. If I restrict the carb to half throttle with the linkage would it hurt the engine if it doesn’t hit full throttle?
No it won't, you will have to tune it, but it will work out. These engines don't have to hit full throttle all the time. That's how i got my 10-year-old grandson into it. he doesn't know it yet, but he gets over 150 nitro cars when i am gone. ps i have been messing with these things since the 50's.
HAGS, Have you ever had an issue with the brake discs rubbing on your clutch bell? Was running the stock 17/47 setup. Only just discovered this issue and seen another UA-cam video discussing the same issue. I’ve ordered the 52T spur to move clutch bell away from the brake discs to allow clearance, Hopefully that will help. Great vids by the way
@@HaggardRCi thought the same until it happened to me, Not a problem for the older single disc brake setups only twin disc brake setups (red fibreglass pads) have the issue from what I can gather. Bit of a design fault from Hpi worth keeping an eye on.
14t with lrp.32 is crazy, i still got the 17t bell on, got a 14t in stock but fear will break something as its off the chain with the 17t, wheelies and crazy wheelspin
Hay man I’ve got it hear it’s a 50t is that ok for You or to many tooth? It’s good with me but obviously I want it to be used so if it’s helpful and you will use I’ll get it on the way. It’s one that you need to either put a bearing in or the collet.
I highly appreciate you wanting to send me one mate but if you're unsure then it's fine, I can get a genuine HPI one with the bearing and pad. I'm not sure if I have the right bearing for the one you have.
No I’m not unsure at all mate I just want you to use it I’m 💯 happy for you to have it if you’re going to use it it’s for the savage don’t worry I got two the same and ones on my 25 with the LRP 28 if I could send a pic I would but can’t find your email but it doesn’t matter you will defo be able to use it if you want I’ll stick it in a jiffy on Monday maybe if you have one of your stickers left you can send me one for my tool box if you have any left😂 don’t worry I would not mention it if I wasn’t going to send it I just don’t want it to go to waste 👍
so i saw the z32 pullstart have 5 port and the z32x competition have 7+1 port Can i just put the 7+1port in the z32 spec 4 pullstart. and is there any big difference betweeen them
Your video reminded me to check my clutch cuz ive had clutch issues and lets just say the shoes were basically fully gone like actually gone. Im surprised it even ran. Because it wasnt just worn out there were pieces missing so idk what happened but at least now i know the problem.
@@HaggardRC yes but the thing is that the person that installed it probably mixed some random parts and so it doesn't all fit together great, I'm thinking of just getting a whole new flywheel and clutch kit.
just got hardened slipper cog mate from wheelspin. you need s hardened clutch bell for them mind mate.. dont buy from rc scrapyard they are aliexpress ones that stripped straight away mate yet my plastic one is still going lol. he said it was my fault lmao. beware of rc scrapyard mate
Do you remember when I put the engine in and saw that plastic spur would go on the first run lol well it lasted probably about 5literes worth of nitro 😂
You need to put one of them spacers on the inside of the clutch Bell you can see where it was riding the inside of the clutch Bell face it also looks like you got two weaker Springs on your shoes Sandra clutch shoes get them clean
@@HaggardRC Yeah I heard you say they’re unavailable now. That ended it for me. I need to figure out another brand clutch a 4 shoe clutch that will fit. Oh my revo and my nitro slash
you do realise if you take the top off the gearbox the spur gear just lifts off lol?????? that way when you replace it with the same 47tooth gear you dont have to get the knit with the bell it just slots back in mate
ahh you dont have to mess with the innards the spur shaft is on top of the gears so it just lifts out, serious mate 10 x easier then messing the knit and alignment up. pop off then pop on simple as 7 screws lol :) @@HaggardRC
Hey Hagerd, love the vid’s man things are tuff everywhere, if shipping from Canada would kill me id love to help you out, hopefully someone closer can throw a fellow Rc enthusiasts a bone I know someone in the nitro family closer will help you out that’s what we do 🫡🤙🤙

Cheers mate! :)
Take a piece of sand paper to that inside slipper clutch and remove the shine from the clutch bro
If the spur is s very old ,then age could had made it brittle!
That is what happened to my 14 year old Baja spur gear!

Hi mate like the video question tho what’s the purpose of the purple bobble round the carb ?
The hair band? To keep the throttle shut if the linkage pops off.
Add a slipper clutch eliminator about £26 to buy
That bell is hardend and vented no?
That is also hard on the plastic I think. Anyway your getting all sorted now👍👍
I had burs all over mine and one of the springs submerged in the alloy sometimes the alloy shoes seem to wear very unevenly and then a weird way
I the play may be a reason
Sorry man I’m message booming you I just love a savage 😂
Do you remember when I put the engine in and saw that plastic spur would go on the first run lol well it lasted probably about 5literes worth of nitro 😂
I'd assume it's hardened it's meant for buggy racing with a metal spur 🤟
Oh ok bud nice shorting out clutch
Can you tell that spur gear is stripped out
Is that a trick question 😆
I guess I did comment a bit early in the video lol
Can you tell me if a nitro rc car running rich would the carb leak nitro?
Depends where it's leaking from 🤣
You need to put one of them spacers on the inside of the clutch Bell you can see where it was riding the inside of the clutch Bell face it also looks like you got two weaker Springs on your shoes Sandra clutch shoes get them clean

Yeah of course you can find them in the Haggard shop 🤣🤣

Know what u mean bud had it with MK1 traxxas

What 4 shoe clutch is that one
