I feel exactly the same about needing that fresh feeling after Christmas - between November and December I love dark and cosy decor but as soon as it’s Boxing Day, I just have to take it all down and have to have everything as neutral and minimalist as possible 😂
Me too 🤣 It takes me 11 months to want that cosy crowded feeling back again and i'm sooo happy when it's back... for a month... then it has to go again 😂😂
I’m going to make a note in my diary this year to NOT do ANY redecorating in November/December as this short but very intense phase is a real ‘danger zone’ that will only end in buyers’ regret 😂 I will just visit a lot of National Trust properties and cosy pubs instead!
Gosh I really relate to not being able to make decisions any more 😅 I agonised for weeks over what new bedding to buy the kids and which shoes to buy for Finn. He started walking two months ago & I’ve only just bought him some shoes 😂 I never used to be so indecisive.

Lovely content! My Christmas decorations are not minimal haha & will be up for a bit. Due to I working 2 jobs. & a scheduled viisit in December to medical clinic out of state. for our young adult daughter, I literally finished decorating the week of Christmas. Therefore I am in no rush to take them down. I need the peaceful ambiance the star lights bring me at night. I do love the clean & fresh after any holiday decorations have been put away though. As far as the toys. As Charlie gets a bit older & not at the stage of taking everything out..he can help you put away his toys. Our kids.helped put away their own toys around 2-3 yrs of age. before bath at night. Have a great week!
Cif has always been my favorite cleaner - the one that smells of lemons. Plus the magic eraser for getting tea mugs etc really clean, and great for cleaning baths and basins too, and walls and paintwork! I use as little chemicals as I can, as I am a highly sensitive person, and I have Madge the rescue greyhound. Your house always looks so clean - you are a wonderful caring and loving Mother and wife. I have some decor that is specifically for Christmas (tree and stockings primarily) and then I have some decor that is winter (candles, window star, lights). I put it all up in December and then remove the Christmas bits at the new year. That way I still have some cozy for winter but it is a lot calmer. It felt so good to get the tree out of the house, I love it but just need the space to breathe 😅
I totally understand the 'knowing' when everything comes down. I live in Germany and the Christmas tree is supposed to come down on the 6th and not before. I am still enjoying the cosy Christmas but my switch will happen and when it does....I am like you! Happy New Year

Ik keep my Christmas tree and holiday decoration till the end of January ;-) I like the pink btw. Little suggestion: i change the colors 4 times a year. For exemple: changing your pink cushion covers to another colour. Winter at my home is dark green and white, spring is pastels (soft yellow or pink of light green), ... Every year the same stuff but it looks and feels new and fresh every season.

We’re taking our decorations down this weekend. I was ready to do it on New Year’s Day but it’s my daughter’s birthday that day and she wanted them to stay up 🙄 I have a tip for you - don’t lock all the cupboards in the kitchen, keep the one your son likes unlocked but put things in he can play with, eg Tupperware, a saucepan and a wooden spoon to bang it with, some of his own toys etc. It’ll keep him entertained for ages but you’ll know it only has safe things in that he can touch. Px
