This is exciting. This is not boat renovation. This is boat transformation! I love how you guys tackle tasks and get the job done and nicely done with that.
I've done 2 yacht projects last year... no way near as intensive as what you guys are doing. I must say, you guys are doing a great job with your rebuild and making this video enjoyable to watch. Due to enormous amount of work you guys are doing, isn't it more cost effective to buy a newer yacht instead? That's what I did with my first yacht project. I did minimal work and sold it at huge profit then applied towards another yacht much newer with minimal work needed. Just my thought.
Hey Joseph, this still worked out pretty good if you don't factor in labor costs, as we did everything ourselves but yes if we could recommend to anyone. Work harder and save more money and definitely buy a boat that just needs a lil face-lift (cosmetic changes) versus what we did. It was brutal! 🤣😊
Thanx again for the video, muchachos! Very interesting at this stage to see the way you guys do things and how we do those same things, haha! Greetingz from Greeze, Wim
Finally some windows!! must have been nice to be able to ventilate the boat so well ;D useless fact number 243523 Sika = Pig in finnish ;D Are you guys going to paint the boat? i think that shade of turquise isn´t hip anymore in boating sociaty. Keep it up you guys :)
Love what you are doing you both are an inspiration. But it now time to leave A.S.A.P low IQ people are running South Africa, you must get your family's out. I feel horrible what is going to happen.
Hey you guys ! I,m running out of constructive comments to give you's . But on thing i did notice was that you pair need to visit Australia to get a bit of Aussie sun on ya . Lady Africa looks real smick with new glass though . love ya work guys .....
You’ve filled the rebates and going furface Mount , not good the marine industry does that for cost , it’s better in the rebates , you can change the look of a boat with windows being to big and it’s hard to tell the design ,
Hi guys, I love the videos and great job on the windows. It's really sleek looking from the outside but aren't you a bit concerned about ventilation? I know you have hatches above your head but you would have gotten some nice air flowing through if you had a few that opened.
Thanks Bertie. No it's not necessary in Catamarans. The Dean Catamarans especially never came with screwed in windows. The VHB tape and the sikaflex are also relatively strong.
hello finally got caught up 55+ video's in 4 days, Honestly mixed thoughts and about a million questions, But as i haven't been on the big blue in about 30 yrs ( hopefully that will change soon ) I don't have any criticism, but just 1 question she's looking good on the inside the outside besides the windows she has that shabby chic camo feeling going on, When are you going to paint the deck lol.
just replaced 2 front windows on my prout elite, all the windows are 10mm but the fiberglass deck and window moldings are only 6mm,so 10mm is probably overkill. just be careful to never clean the windows with anything other than soapy water or a pvc cleaner . one of the windows ii replaced must have been cleaned with acetone before i owned it,which caused surface crazing over time..
Where you’re using the hammer to demonstrate the breaking of the windows. Have you ever thought that the UV is only coated on the one side of the plastic. So the ones that broke is the ones that was put in, inside out. Usually the film with the writing on,is the side that is protected and not the other side.

That looks absolutely amazing Guys, such a great video for technique, I love it. Priming and sanding proves the process. Well done.
Thanks so much Ross!! 🎉 ⛵
Nice work guys.
Thanks so much! 😊

Thanks so much Wim! 😊
Often a good idear to fit a temporary batton along the deck to sit each window on to keep them even in eye line
While you guys are doing the work to the boat, are you going to glass the hull to deck joint solid and do away with the seam sealer?
Negative, no time & budget.
Great work guys. That damn Sika primer costs a fortune aye? I haven't had a single leak though so it works :) looking good
Thanks so much bud! It is pretty darn expensive but it's bank for buck.
Very brave if you to whale on your new windows...but I guess it’s best to find out now rather than out there! -Rebecca
I love the job done, Can you tell me the name of silicone sicaflex you use at the end ? And the tape to
Wouldn’t it look good if you had the bronze acrylic doors where you keep your electrical and batteries
You would have been in a world of hurt if you had gone to sea with those windows the first time you took a wave on the topsides!
Oh most definitely!
Dramatic progress as those new windows bring fresh light into the entire boat. Nicely done.
Thanks so much 😊
If the acrylic breaks so easily, why are you using them on the side windows and polycarbonate ?
Finally some windows!! must have been nice to be able to ventilate the boat so well ;D useless fact number 243523 Sika = Pig in finnish ;D

Are you referring to the deck? The deck we painting white. 😎 Thanks so much.
Sailing Lady Africa yeah, i was talking about the deck, that will look spiffy
whats the make of your boat
Dean 365 Oceanliner. 😊

Thank you Deleen. 👍🏻

Haha, the sun is shining this side now so we'll get some sun on us. Thanks so much! 😊

There wasn't a recess/rebate for the windows to fit into. We just replaced the standard original fit windows.

Thanks so much! We will be installing port lights. 😊
Windows look great. Transform the boat.
Question - Is it not necessary to screw or bolt the windows to add strength & help the sealamt to bond?
Thanks Bertie. No it's not necessary in Catamarans. The Dean Catamarans especially never came with screwed in windows. The VHB tape and the sikaflex are also relatively strong.
man,the new windows look shmick

Ha ha good job! We going to paint the deck soon. First going to complete the interior and then outside will be tackled. 🤙🏻⛵😜

The new windows look great! The work is progressing well I think the boat is looking great. You should be proud of your work
Thank you so much Paul! 😊
Ricky what manufacturer cat is that? I was curious how you were gonna finish those edges up after install
It's a 36.5ft Dean Catamaran
Those windows are a real mission. You made it look so simple. When I rebed mine I know where I can look for help😊
Thanks 😊
I love the "how to" videos. When you guys get on the water I hope you continue to make repair videos too. Awesome as always.
Thanks so much Dave. That's the plan. However I hope once she is in the water, there aren't too many surprises waiting for us.. :P
looks very pro, will look great with the white decks, what thickness acrylic did you end up using?
Thanks, we used 6mm cast acrylic with extra uv protection.

Looks awesome like new boat like to see how it will look after some outside paint and rigging done
Thanks so much! 😊

Get some 5200 for anything under the water line. Don't use anything but 3m on your boat!
