I did the complete 5 lug swap on my 79 on a tiny budget, with the steering rack, and used a good driving and clean 95 V6 donor for everything. I swapped the rear end as well, much easier job, and it was necessary in my case as the stock 79 rear end that year was the tiny 6.75, so even a 7.5" is an upgrade...
Once you know what parts to reuse, it's a very easy swap. Basically everything that moves or rotates was swapped over :
    - lower control arms (79 ones are shorter and will give an absurd positive camber that can't be corrected, that was my first try...)
    - spindle assemblies
    - struts and shocks (ideally you want to get new ones but I reused the ones from the donor to test)
    - steering rack (I mixed the 79 and 95 shafts to make an hybrid, pretty easy and added sleeves to match the larger bushings, also as the 95 rack has longer tie rods, you simply have to tighten them more to adjust them right, there's still an inch of thread left to adjust inwards, with the factory 79 rack and 95 control arms, there wasn't much thread left outwards...not very safe)
    - brake booster and master cylinder (needs a small modification of the firewall and reshaping the strut tower a bit, and I cheated and used the 95 brake lines as well)
    - the whole rear end assembly (the 95 hydraulic hose even fits the 79 brake line)
    - cut and weld the parking brake cables brackets on the 79
The wheels need the right offset, and they fit perfectly (I have 18" on it)
All in all, with the donor and a handful of new parts, and a geometry (didn't even need CC plates), it cost me well under $1000.
The braking and handling difference is tremendous. The car drives beautifully.

Thanks so much for all the info on this swap, this comment is very helpful! I'm sure the 18's look great too!

Doing the calipers in Sand Beige with black decals that say Nemesis on the front's would be cool. Aww Harris' poor Calyp50 sitting in the background! But it's in good hands.
