PLEASE KEEP IN MIND when you are watching my videos: I am showing you the least expensive, quickest "backyard" methods for repairing or servicing your lawnmower or equipment. Replacing all components such as gaskets and fuel lines is always recommended when rebuilding or repairing equipment. With these videos I hope you are able to fix and repair your lawnmower yourself with minimal parts, knowledge and tools. Thank you for watching!
Jeff, excellent subject to make a video for! So many mowers end up in the scrap for that problem of a stripped bolt hole. Nice repair! Roger
Yep, this happened to me 4 years ago on a GCV190. I wished this video existed back then. I ended up doing the same repair, but as a novice it took me a long time how to figure it out.
Jeff I always enjoy watching your videos. Thank you for taking time to make them.
thanks Larry that makes me smile and gives me ambition to make more vids
Thanks for the tip
I really needed that actually
Great tutorial, thanks bud!
Jeff you're a funny guy. Enjoyed the video.
Thanks, guess I know what I will be doing this week lol
I wonder where those chickens learned those naughty words???
lol!
Consider putting a rag in the intake hole before drilling.
What size heli coil and was wondering about time sert instead
We've recently learned how to tighten our saggy sack, and now how to tighten a worn out hole, I wonder what's next? Smiles.
LOL!
🤣
Good tip mate 👌🤙🏼🤙🏼
Thanks for the video this just happen to me
Any chance can you let me know what size helocoils did you use? Also what size drill bit and tap. I just don’t wanna screw it all up
I love your videos
Have you ever considered a hydraulic lift table ?
They’re cheap and it’ll save your back 😅
I need one for sure
Jeff, how do you keep the coil from backing out of the hole you drill when you remove the tool?
the tool unscrews really easy and does not spin the insert
I use those helicoils myself on different items
will this work on the gcv190 pressure washer?
yep
pretty good video, but after installing the heli coil aren't you supposed to stick punch in and break the tab of the heli coil?
yes
When you screw in the helicoil, are supposed to remove the metal tab that breaks off the coil.
no. not unless you need alot of threads
Are you using the same bolt that came out of it ?
yes I did.
Hi Jeff, I have a stripped mounting bolt hole on my Honda gx160 valve cover; the bolt is an M6, can you or any of your subscribers be kind to advice me on what size Helicoil is needed for the job. Grazie mille
Good job, I would really have appreciated more information about what size Heli-Coil you used, if it was a coarse or fine thread, what size drill bit you used, etc.... Otherwise, I'll figure it out on my own. Great job otherwise!
Its a 6mm bolt and they make all sizes of helicoils for a reason. Just because it tightens after youre done doesnt mean its done correctly. Think about how he taps a new thread but shows the helicoil expanding as he threads the bolt into the helicoil. Now think about that bolt threading into the wrong size helicoil expanding in those fresh cut threads..LOL
using the correct everything is always best! lol
What size was that helicoil?
Just suggesting stick a rag in the intake to keep debris out.
good tip!
Thought everyone who knows that they’re doing did this anyways 😂
What size tab did you use?
What size heli coil do you need for a gcv 160
I was thinking that same thing
@@jamiewalter8742me too
I overheard your customer saying you don't work on 2 stroke engines anymore.
Why is that?
Disposable? No parts lookup? Too frustrating? Just curious...
yes all of the above
What's the size on the helicoils and kit?
I use a 6in extension with 10mm deep socket. You can turn them tight enough by hand but makes it impossible to strip anything.
just finger tight?
@@JeffsLittleEngineService lol. hand tight. With no ratchet.
they are size specific and just because you want to force the wrong size bolt in does not me you should tell everyone its ok. re name your channel back yard fixes.
Mine stripped and won’t come off!
Wrong coil montage! LG
