Saying Rosa Parks was asked to move then didn’t without mentioning racism or segregation laws makes her sound less like an activist and more like a Karen.
I mean, the truth is she was jsut tired and sick of the shit, she wasn't tryign to BE an activist. But then, true heroes never try to be heroes when they do the right thing.
The whole thing was planned, I researched it for college and I was seriously shocked how much planning went into it AND the press coverage. It was literally a publicity stunt.
That poor young man. Yes that’s exactly why kids can’t talk to their parents. They’re afraid of that! My daughter told me at the age of 10 and a half that she thought she was gay. She’s now 14 and knows she is. And I have supported her since day one. She’s my daughter, I love HER, her sexuality is hers, not mine. Parents like this mom, she needs to step back and realize that her son is still the boy she raised and that’s who you love. Not their sexual preference. And as long as he’s in safe and healthy relationships, who cares what their gender is.
Main reason I never trust my parents. I never feel comfortable anymore. Heck, I was brushed off when I was having both a panic attack and a depressive episode at my old job. My mom said I was fine and that she’s depressed all the time. Downplaying the fact that it’s happening in front of all of my coworkers and I was about to pass out because of the panic attack. I never got an apology for that and I just felt horrible. It’s gotten so bad that I forgot how to smile. It’s always forced.
Worse thing is, (I could be wrong), it's not even him coming out. If I understand correctly it's that his mother is *certain* that he's gay because of stereotypes, and the kid keep telling her he's not (he mention several time he loves women and I'm pretty sure he identify as male) and she's getting pissed he's telling her he's not gay because he's "arguing" with her.
Little updates on some of these : The extra cheese girl admitted she had lied and done the vid just for clout, it didn't happen The dinosaur podcast girls are a group of girls making satire of "Alpha male" podcasts
In response to the lady saying pronouns on applications are a detriment: I recently was hired for my first job since coming out as enby. My pronouns were on my application and didn’t come up during the interview. However, my shift lead always used they/them pronouns for me, and when he got confused after hearing an employee use she/her, he asked for clarification and said the manager told him I use they/them pronouns. I told him that was correct and thanked him for asking. He asked me if I wanted him to let the other employee know, because I tend not to correct people when they misgender me. That’s the kind of inclusive, supportive work environment that simply putting a couple words on an application can create.
I'm so glad you have found an inclusive workplace. Really the idiot in the video doesn't understand that it's as helpful for the applicant to weed out places we wouldn't want to work as it is for providing the employer with information so we aren't misgendered. She also managed to miss out that everyone has pronouns and that for some people they have a gender neutral name like Jamie or Alex, or perhaps a name from another country that it might be hard to tell the person's gender...so it's not even always about being LGBTQ+ or even an ally, it can just be very useful to let them know the gender of the person they're interviewing (even when it's someone who uses binary genders). I'm also really curious as to whether it'd be illegal to discriminate in the US based on assumed political affiliation, it seems like the sort of thing the constitution would protect against? Can you imagine how much the republicans would be screaming if they didn't get a job because they were conservative? Holy shit, they'd probably have a slur filled, gun welding public meltdown. Also, I love how one of the complaints about liberals was along the lines that they want workers right to a fair work place. I wonder if she knows she also has pronouns?
At my first job, I brought up my pronouns (it/it's) RIGHT AWAY. I had very mixed reactions, but one of the managers, Steven, was super supportive and did his best despite being older and not necessarily understanding. You a real G Steven, thanks man
Ok, Jesus, these fucking people. First off, told not to do silver by WHO? Silver and gold are the safest things to put in your mouth, they don't react to ANYTHING! Also, silver is mildly antibiotic, for God's sake. These fucking medical woo people are all about silver, until it's actually helpful! Secondly...lady, those aren't teeth anymore, they are fucking STUMPS. When your child's real teeth come out, for the love of all that's holy, DO NOT DO WHATEVER YOU HAVE BEEN DOING! I don't even know how you can ruin teeth that much in three years. If I was that child, I'd do my own cooking.
But aren't they trans? Isn't that person in transition? I am a bit confused who-to-who the transition is towards though, I don't know the person. But she keeps saying Sean! So I bet she would use the old name, right? Whivh means she is a he now? Or a gay man?
That mother kicking out her child really hurts. These parents will say "my child ran away" after giving their children these 'options'. My friend was kicked out when his mother said "behave like this or get out." when you say something like that you don't get to say they 'ran away', you didn't give them an option really. My friend is living with me now but it's hard, the benefit he's on raises our rent more than it pays us to take care of him so my dad is losing money. Our house isn't really big enough for all of us, he has to sleep in the living room. I'm trying to get a job to help out. There's something seriously wrong with these parents and now that my friend is living with me seeing parents kick their kids out like that honestly makes me want to cry. The guy in the video handled it so well though, I hope he's safe.
I feel like it'd be creepy and (given that I'm a poor queer myself) not enough money to help to ask for more details in a public forum just to send you a few bucks. If you are in the US in particular, please reach out to your local lgbt support groups and ask for help & referrals. Being poor is basically a full time job in this country and there are often resources that it's just exhausting to find while you are working full time. (If you have a local "buy nothing" Facebook group it's a good way to source stuff in my area at least.) [Important reminder: no legitimate job starts you out with a high pressure sales pitch and asks for an up front financial investment. It's important to interview the company as much as they interview you, and googling "is X a scam" is very important.] PS thanks for inspiring me to use my skills to repair the extra car I have in my garage and find a young queer adult who didn't have the support I did to give it to as a way to help them have more independence.
I’m actually impressed the holistic dentist saw that kid’s teeth and said “nah fam go to a real dentist.” Edit: sorry guys, saw holistic dentist and assumed it was like homeopathy. My bad.
Yeah, the idea behind holistic health is that you're overall healthy and thus not just treating symptoms and covering them with medication (talking treatable and preventable disease). If your teeth rot you are definitely going to suffer other issues. It's like if you went to a massage therapist with a muscle tear, like bitch get that fixed first.
"She is refusing to use it anymore" is such dodgey wording. This is a 3-year-old, not an adult telling their doctor that they are refusing a certain kind of treatment. This parent is trying to put the blame on the kid without literally saying 'it's her fault' so she can't be accused of passing blame. Also- the key d is probably IN PAIN and is afraid of the toothbrush now- of course she doesn't want the parent rubbing a bunch of bullshit around in there!

Yes, if we'd got to the Moon first, it would be in the British Museum. No, we won't give you your cultural treasures back. Yes, saying that _does_ make us look like colossal pricks, and no, we don't have a good reason, just several bad ones. Yes, some of our past actions had reasonable explanations at the time, but yes, we squandered any claim to the moral high ground by giving terrible ones instead. To be fair, the Welsh made it clear with how they name things that they hate everyone else too.... I'm joking of course, Welsh is not even close to the worst language to exist, but it does seem strange.
In Germany- we do have the right to abortion- up to 12 weeks under mandatory counciling, and is permitted later in the case that is a danger to the physical or *MENTAL* danger of the woman. We ALWAYS prioritize the woman over the fetus. America needs to learn. Edit: It is technically illegal but not punished in the first 12 weeks, thank you for pointing that out.
According to the Strafgesetzbuch § 218 abortion is still illegal in Germany but there are several exceptions that makes it still possible/legal. These 12 weeks under mandatory counselling is one of the main exceptions.
@@DragonriderEpona yes, but it is not punishable within these 12 weeks, so I still count us as having it- it's a little more reasonable than the first 6 weeks.
12 weeks in Denmark as well and then with exceptions after that. 6 weeks is a joke; I've had periods that were more late than that so I would never suspect a pregnancy within that timeframe!
The situation here in Germany is still pretty f-ed up. Gynecologists are not allowed to "advertise abortions" or "convince" people to have them. This includes the mere mention of which doctor performs abortions. Nor are they allowed to have stuff like flyers just mentioning "Oh btw, we also perform abortions if necessary" You basically have to find everything out by yourself without being given any information whatsoever EDIT: I was being made aware that this law has been overturned and it is no longer a crime to advertise/inform about abortions.

Right. Lady at the end was just enjoying her meal, and the Dog, despite being on the bench beside her, was very well behaved. Rude TERF gonna rude TERF.
She even said “please sit down and tell me about being a TERF” in a calm way. Like I’d love to try to understand you, please enlighten me. And the old hag just keeps acting like somehow she’s the one being attacked 🙄
It really is amazing just how little self-awarness those people have. That old lady really was getting offended at someone... for being offended, despite the other woman just minding her own business. Ma'am, you should really take a look in the mirror.
That last video with the "Terf" lady really sums up transphobia. All this lovely person was doing was minding their own business and then someone else off camera starts harassing them and claiming they have a "right" to do so. It's like these people grew up without any real social interaction in their lives...
Terfs especially piss me off, because of the fucking HYPOCRISY! Ok, so when they are the one's getting paid less, that's the worst thing ever, but God forbid a Trans person should dare to actually live in a way that's comfortable for them. Way to kick the ladder out behind you, Terfs.

Poor lady was just existing and yet even that was seen as the worst sin possible to that Karen. They don't say they want people to die,but if you can't even stand a lady just sitting there, then you want them to die. It's horrible that hateful people like that still exist and feel emboldened enough to just walk up to someone.
For the lobster thing; I highly suggest looking up Leon the Lobster. Someone did the same thing, but was experienced in exotic fish and brought it home and put it in a tank. It took WEEKS for it to get the strength back in it's claws to grab anything with any strength. It was terrified of everything for the longest time, and it would not survive in the wild at all. It has no instinct to fight off predators and was letting small fish steal its food (The OP later removed the small fish because they were causing such distress).

I absolutely love how the TERF at the end literally sought out the conflict. The girl was just sitting there, minding her own business, and this lady just starts laying the hate and trying to bait her into saying something "discriminatory" to her for being a TERF. Good on op for not giving in to that and generally handling it very well!
I was so proud of my son for coming out to me as gay and trans. I never once even considered talking to him like this woman did her son. I’m gonna have to argue that it, in fact, very much does matter what you think about trans people or other marginalized groups. Supporting these people’s fight for equal rights and social acceptance is the only morally acceptable answer to the question of what one thinks of such people. If you don’t support that fight, then you’re ignorant at best, and bigoted and dangerous at worst.

I was hired for a zero hour contract not long ago where they had an "inclusivity form" you had to fill out as part of the heiring process. The problem was it was super out of date and literally only had things about race, religion and sex as part of it. I'm genderfluid and my default pronouns are they/them but I couldn't specify that on the form. I felt very uncomfortable just writing my biological sex but I'm also kinda shy about my identity still and I find it hard to bring up my pronouns. When I was talking to my employer (super nice lady btw) I screwed up my courage and managed to mention that I preferred they/them pronouns but there wasn't an option for that on the form. She was literally like, "Yeah, I've been trying to get management to update the forms for a while.", she even mentioned there were a few other genderqueer folks on the staff already! I was so happy to feel included and no, I didn't expect anyone to treat me like a "special snowflake". I literally just wanted to be treated like a human being
@@lucad9667 Or more likely, they'd just have a box to fill in with your preferred pronouns, which would accommodate every possible pronoun, and take less room than having a list of options, even if that list was just male/female.

23:14 I work at a museum that displays dinosaur fossils, and I've gotten asked if i believe in dinosaurs quite often. Something I didn't expect when getting this job is that it's often people asking for one of two reasons: They’re educating themselves to figure out their own beliefs, or they're having trouble wording a very reasonable question, like "Our depictions of dinosaurs have changed so much through history. Do you believe in the ones you have here?" Both of these groups are trying to learn, and that's what's important to me.
Yeah, and people who genuinely want to learn the answer are great. Because it is okay to not know something. But it's a problem when you don't want to learn. The other group are those who just want their position confirmed, and those are basically the ignorant ones that try to blend out everything that goes even slightly in a different direction.
19:03 How can you carry a fetus in your body, birth that baby, raise that child… And then when they don't live up to your expectation of who they are supposed to be… You abandon them? Reject them? How can you live with yourself?
A lot of people think they have the right to choose who their child will be. They don't see their child as a separate person with the right to make their own choices. I remember one story my dad told me about when he was working for Dallas College. He was speaking with people at a school event and this kid's parents got angry at him for telling the kid they could go to college even if their parents didn't. They were mad because he suggested their child could move up in the world. Some people are just trash.

That teeth thing is definitely something to have checked out by police or whatever child protective services equivalent exists in their country. Something about that 3 year old losing all of their teeth just screams neglect/ abuse.
Religious freedom means that if a parent claims not seeking medical advice is part of their religious beliefs they thay can neglect their child basically to death.
I would expect the teeth to either fall out as a result of malnutrition, or dark spots of tooth decay from lack of hygiene. 19:56 It is illegal in the United States for her to force him to leave. Parents DO NOT have a legal right to kick you out of the house. If they want you gone and you have nowhere to go they have to go through the eviction process. If they try to make you leave or throw your things on the street that is illegal and you should immediately call your local PD’s non-emergency line. I know its difficult, but do NOT let your family push you over just because they are your family. Know your rights, know how to fight back, and you will be ok. You are loved and supported, even if its not from your blood relatives. Best of luck to everyone dealing with these fears.
:’( just because it’s the law does not mean that it doesn’t happen. I consider myself more well versed in my rights than the average person but when my mom kicked me out (I was 25, paying rent for my room and other expenses like gas internet and food) she did it in such a despicable way there was no choice but for me to leave. She woke w up at 5:30 am and started throwing my essential medications out the window and told me that if I went outside to get them she’d lock the door behind me. It was winter and literally a blizzard outside. I was very lucky to get out with the various things I did (including my dogs, thank god) let alone make it to a safe place afterwards. I even called the police, tried getting a restraining order (it was denied), and the police did jack shit when I told them I wanted to pick up the rest of my things, and literally did nothing when she ended up stealing one of my dogs out of my new home’s yard. So yeah, even though technically ppl have rights in relation to their living situation, evil people are gonna do evil shit no matter if it’s illegal. And they often get away with it.

The 'Blue Ivy' thing reminds me of that one time McDonalds sued a small burger chain called Supermac's/Supermacs from Ireland because the name sounded 'too similar' to Big Mac. Of course, they lost that lawsuit because Mac, funny enough, isn't just a brand name, and any restaurant in Ireland/England/Scotland/Wales can use the term 'big mac', since McDonald's doesn't have legal authority over it there-
I had never even heard of her "cultural icon" child before seeing this video, so bullshit on that. I'm not offended when people tell me I'm obese, I'm offended when people treat me like I'm subhuman. I'm offended when people treat me like rubbish, because of my weight.
@@atomicskies_ Your comment makes no sense. Unless you're saying that in order to stop type 2 diabetes, we need to treat overweight people like they're less than human? Which wouldn't help all of the people living with type 2 diabetes that are not overweight. [Edit - It also wouldn't help overweight people that are living with type 2 diabetes, because for many people, shame is what has caused them to have a disordered relationship with food, so you'd just be making the problem worse.] Stop pretending you want to help people. If you did genuinely want to, you would listen to people and learn what you actually need to do to help. You just don't like overweight people, own that, instead of trying to seem like you're holding some kind of moral high ground.
While there is some correlation between weight and diabetes, one can be without the other. The important one is to talk to people and see their side. Often enough there is a reason.
Especially when going to the doctor. I just don't go and blame it on anxiety/weight instead of finding out if it's something to be taken care of. I.e. something up with my heart but I'd rather not go. Too annoying.
I love lily's reaction, she showed a very impressive amount of level headedness and maturity. If I were in her situation I would get angry and let that terf ruin my day. I have so much respect for trans women and other minorities for the crap have to deal with. Keep fighting all you beautiful humans, all of us have struggles so lets support each other. ❤
As an obese woman I have definitely heard a lot of words that are a lot worse than obese. Obese is simply a technical term for seriously overweight. There are words that hurt so bad they makes you tear up as soon as you're alone, because you sure aren't going to let them see. Even so, I don't think any of them are equal to that word we all avoid unless we're of a certain background.
After all, there was at that point no attempt to kill all of us overweight people or single us out in ghettos etc. So no word for us can have the same impact as the words used to oppresse and hurt people WHILE they were trying to survive slavery and segregation.
I’m autistic so I’ve been called everything you could think of. In high school nearly everyone, even people I believed to be fully accepting, would still use the R word as a casual insult with no thought about it and belittle other autistic people cause they were “the really disabled ones” and I was “the exception”. I’ve been told by allistic people that calling an autistic person autistic is in every situation an insult when really, saying that the word autistic is the same as idiot when it isn’t is also pretty insulting.
@@RGamingBlastoise I am sorry about those people. Hopefully we will one day learn to really be better than those people. No one should be calling anyone names and you have done a brilliant job of outlining a much bigger problem than anything done based on weight issues.
It always amazes me the kind of people that tend to pick on my weight when I'm overweight (I fluctuate between 80kg and 140kg depending on my mental health essentially) literally yesterday the alchoholics that smoke and drink laying in front the supermarket all day were making fun of me and saying I'm going to get diabetes I was initially upset until it hit me who exactly was saying these things. There was lot of irony in that situation I usually eat healthy and exercise and I don't drink and I quit smoking a long time ago I think despite my weight issues overall I'm a little bit healthier than those people haha.

10:00 about the dove thing, something similar happened in India too. There was a brand of cream called 'Fair and Lovely' whose entire thing is that the cream whitens your skin. And in a country like India, where despite having people with a variety of shades of brown, fairness is considered beautiful and darkness is considered dirty/ugly, the cream profited off of the societal opinion. Then when people started to rebel against those ridiculous beauty standards, the brand changed their Cream's name to 'Glow and Lovely', and there were literal ads about *just* the name change for a few months. And now their ads have returned back to the whole 'fair skin is more beautiful than tanned/dark skin' thing, just without the name 'Fair' in the name. It sucks. A lot.
oh God I know that brand - not Indian but I am desi/south Asian. my mum used to use it many years ago 😖 I always found it such an odd business idea and beauty standard - but I am quite "fair" myself and raised in the UK, where the standards are not the same.
I hate to think of how much pain that little kiddie has been in as her teeth have literally rotted away. I wouldn't be shocked if it turned out the 'remineralizing' toothpaste and putty the mother was using were what did that, because I can't think of anything else that could have dissolved the teeth like that.
Remineralizing products are a legit thing! :) But they're meant to prevent decay (you apply it to a spot that is darkening but is NOT a proper cavity yet). Seeing that poor kid's teeth I think it was just way too late for a preventive treatment x-x
It mentioned in the post that the dentist said that nursing might have been the cause. Maybe you shouldn't be breastfeeding a 3-year-old? I'm not sure when exactly you're supposed to wean a child, but I'm fairly certain it's before 3 years. A pretty major concern of mine would be how this has affected the child's adult teeth; if they're unaffected, then they will eventually get past this, but if not, then this is going to be with them their whole life.
@@18Hongo My mum's a retired midwife and I just asked her. She said nursing alone can't cause decay to teeth, though nursing after a certain age can affect the alignment of the teeth. She said that only the kiddo sucking on something sweet to sleep could do that or the kiddo was given a whole lot of sweet foods or drinks. Two examples she gave were something like a pacifier dipped in honey, or if the kiddo was given say a bottle of milk to suck on to sleep and the bottle wasn't removed so the milk just remained in the mouth. As for how that will affect the adult teeth, the adult teeth wouldn't have been corroded but because the baby teeth will have to all be removed it will affect how the adult teeth descend. My younger brother shattered his upper two front teeth when he was 4 (he fell off his trike and went face-first into a curb) and when it was time for his adult teeth to come through, it was painful for him because there wasn't the normal gap in the gum tissue for the adult teeth to descend down. Also, our family dentist was concerned the adult teeth might grow at a strange angle, which would have required braces, though thankfully they didn't.
@@DragonFae16 When I had my daughter (22 years ago.😂) they made it a point to tell new parents not to let kids sleep with bottles all night unless it was water. I wonder if drs don't say anything about it now.
@@C-SD There are plenty of people who are deep into the holistic movement who never go to a doctor or go to a doctor when there's no other choice, then completely ignore what the doctor says. I'm betting doctors and nurses still tell new parents that, but some parents just ingore it.

I worked with a woman like that I told her on her last day there there's a reason your facing the retirement home or the grave if I was your kid I'd stuff you in the worst nursing home I can find and pay the bills til you die
20:50 good thing she said this out loud. Since choosing not to hire someone based on any of the listed traits is very explicitly against antidiscrimination laws, any company that puts her in a hiring position will face heavy fines, pretty much guaranteeing she will never end up in one of those positions in the first place.
Not necessarily. In the US you can get fired for something as trivial as your boss not liking your tie. I don't even think they're required to give you a reason at all, although they'll usually come up with some bullshit reason so that you can't collect unemployment. They can't legally discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, religion or national origin, but if they want to do so they can usually come up with some bullshit reason to fire someone that ostensibly has nothing to do with a protected class. For instance, if your super-religious boss found out you were an atheist and wanted to get rid of you, you could suddenly find yourself getting disciplined for the slightest infraction. You got back 10 seconds late from your break? That's a write-up. You stopped smiling for a moment when a customer threatened to physically assault you? That's poor customer service. Accidentally took a pen home from work? Stealing from the company! Oh look, three strikes. You're fired! Discriminating on the basis of political views is perfectly legal, and legal protections for LGBTQ+ people can be quite spotty and subject to change. There's an excellent chance that the person in the video has solid legal footing for everything she said.
I laughed at how she spoke about how people who use pronouns tend to cause trouble. The fact they use pronouns to me, shows that they're more accepting. Some people who are cis put pronouns on their blog to show solidarity, and normalise the use of stating pronouns. It's not as big a deal as she's making it out to be.
All the super left people I ever employed were just as hard working as any other of my employees. I would hire one again! Because they are more likely to openly discuss things with you and search for a good solution for everybody. They are inclusive and awesome with customers.
If anything, the left is all about hard work. That's where Marxism is, after all. The right wing, particularly in America, is more and more the party of the rich and irresponsible. The only working people on the right are being abused by the people they vote for. Case in point, she isn't even driving her own car! She'll say she providing someone with a job, but does that driver have a stake in the company he works for? Is his voice heard? Does he have a say in who his boss is? Or she, of course, women can be drivers.
In my personal experience, right wing people work. But radical right wing people are the laziest most deluded complainers who's egos survive entirely off leeching credit and denying responsibility from groups they associate themselves with.
So... I did it on a video before, but I'll pretend I didn't, because it was still today that I did it. I am happy to announce that I have promoted from Laddie to Lasso! I don't expect you to read this, Mark, but if you do, again, thank you very much. Maybe I'll end up promoting to Lassie later in life, but as for now, Lasso is already great!
Fun fact regarding BMI: my brother is a medic in the US Army. He was telling me about how he has to fudge the BMI tests for most of the guys he works with, because those tests do not account for the fact that muscle is denser than fat, and that most of the service members would actually register as severely obese if my brother and the other medical staff didn't move the measuring tapes a little above or below where they're supposed to be.
Also something people working on their fitness will notice. At first, when water and fat gets reduced, they lose weight, then when the muscles come, they gain weight. BMI is a guideline at best. It doesn't account for more than average muscles and it doesn't account for different body types.
My former english teacher who's literally ex-military and has kept up working out and everything and is considered obese - morbidly obese on the BMI scale
@@HappyBeezerStudiosBMI was created by a Belgian mathematician to guide as a STATISTICS tool to see what the average "healthy" weight to height ratio in adult males in Belgium was at that period in time... It was never a medical thing to begin with and now doctors base their entire plan of action on it?? It's just sick.
@@AdorableFloof1999 The BMI scale is a _tool._ Doctors do apply common sense to it. My Chinese Crested dog who is 6.5kg would register as obese if a vet simply looked at his weight without looking at him, but one glance would tell them that the extra kilo is all muscle weight, just as a doctor would look at their patient and disregard the 'obese' result of the BMI scale if their patient was mostly muscle.

21:30 I did a little observation at my last job, the cis straight ones were on their high horse, doing the bare minimum, and getting praised for it. Me, a demi-girl, and a gay guy were the three hardest workers. The guy was a cook(a damn good one too, he managed to get every resident to love the cheap veggies and meat he was forced to cook with), the demi girl was a damn good server, like, they could take on the entire giant dining room alone with her foot in a cast and boot, and i was a dishwasher. I was getting through dishes so fast, i performed other tasks that saved the servers time and energy so we could get our state mandated 15 minute break between lunch and dinner service. Yet we were punished for being good at our jobs. I transferred to see if i could get away from the toxic people, and ended up being forced to leave because they planned on making me have a panic attack that lasted just long enough to get me fired. Point is, hire those in the LGBTQ+ Community, because we know how to work hard, and know how to be more compassionate towards those that come in. We like to be a safe space for others, because if we're the safe space we want to see, we're living life right. But do give people the chance to show how amazing or trashy of an employee they can be before rejecting someone because of a percieved notion.
I don't know if Cliccy is just a little crazy or a genuinely carefree dude that just overflows with manic wholesome happiness. But in any case, he's a delightful dude. Keep surviving.
Well, don't you know, it's important that people can be themselves! So, clearly, people who are different from the majority MUSTN'T be hired! Because you can't be yourself if you have to show basic politeness to people who are different from you. /s
Not only that but conservatives tend to sue the most because "they're infringing on my religious rights!" But are fine with taking rights away from anyone else
24:20 Actually a fascinating fact - even though dinosaurs lay eggs they did not sit on them to hatch them. Firstly because not being warm blooded would've made it pointless. And secondly there is this small problem with mass of an adult dinosaur growing to a power of 3 with size, but egg shell harness growing with size to the power of 2. And if eggshell would get thicker to deal with this weight, a hatchling would not be able to break out of it. So instead they buried the eggs in decaying matter and used that heat to hatch them. And no. Dinosaurs did no go extinct because they stopped reproducing. They went extinct because the meteor impact introduced a shock to the ecosystem that threw the food chain into disarray. Big plants got destroyed outright by the blast wave and then didn't get enough sunlight through the dustclouds all over the atmosphere. Few plant = few food for herbivores. Especially large ones. They die out. Few large herbivore = few food for large carnivores = they die. And smaller creatures did not go extinct. But it turned out that for small creatures this new fad of being warm blooded, and being able to get some food stored in your fatty tissue and then slowly dripfeed it to your young instead of having to leave the unattended to get more food for them - are pretty big evolutionary advantages. So mammals became new dominant species, while the dinosaurs then evolved into birds. Yeah. Every time you eat a chicken you eat a descendant of dinosaurs. Though don't get overconfident. The real rightful rulers of Australia by the right of conquest are the Emus - they are also pride descendants of dinosaurs.
Dinosaurs were actually in between the points of warm and cold blood. The could somewhat make there own heat just not as well as mammals. Good comment though!
One small point to add - it wasn't dinosaurs->meteor->birds. Avian dinosaurs (aka birds) co-existed with non-avian dinosaurs for a long, long time. So it was more like dinosaurs -> dinosaurs and birds -> meteor -> most dinosaurs went extinct, but birds survived.
To be honest, as an introvert I loved the 2 yrs of lockdown due to the pandemic. I had a readymade reason for not wanting to be visited or go out. 22:25 The thing about Jamie winning an Oscar and them talking about it is just that she has been doing movies since the 80s but never won anything. The Oscars don't give awards to horror movies, and she's most known for her horror movies. She herself talked about how grateful she is to Michelle Yeoh in an Variety interview. And no one is NOT talking about how many awards Everything Everywhere All At Once won, but Jamie as a veteran actress deserves a publication about her award. I'm grateful Ke Huy came back to the industry, I'm grateful Michelle won her award, but as a horror fan, I'm most grateful Jamie finally received an Oscar for her performance.

So if I can't get someone out of my head, it's because I'm stuck in their head, but wouldn't that mean that I'm stuck in their head because they're stuck in mine? But at some point this infinite loop had to have started because we didn't always have one another stuck in our heads.
Even worse, if you're stuck in someone's head who is also stuck in yours, so you're inside of your own head inside of their head inside of your head evergrowing outwards like an Infinite Russian doll! EDIT: to eliminate ambiguity.

The Brog college drink thing was basically college kids drinking a shit ton of alcohol and caffeine mixed together. The caffeine makes the blood vessels larger which allows for more alcohol into the bloodstream. And essentially giving people severe alcohol poisoning. Food theory recently get a really good breakdown of this
what? caffeine does not make blood vessels larger (it actually constricts them) and it has no effect on the metabolism of alcohol by the liver. the issues with mixing caffeine and alcohol are that caffeine is a stimulant and alcohol is a depressant, so mixing the two creates the illusion of cancelling each other out when what’s actually happening is it’s pulling your body systems (mainly CNS and cardiovascular) in opposite directions. it has nothing to do with the size of your blood vessels or the absorption rate of alcohol

Thank you for being a reasonable and good parent. It needs more of you
Main reason I never trust my parents.

He has at least one person he can stay with. Hopefully a good and understanding person. Whereas nobody likes that cow.
Yeah, I was lucky enough to have verry supportive parents who understand me. I really feel sad for him. 😢

This was so good as a soul top up to read, thank you for sharing 🖤

Gynecologists are not allowed to "advertise abortions" or "convince" people to have them.

That's why I'm anti natalism
These are the same type of people to scream at people for aborting a fetus due to health reasons.

Finally someone talking about that.
I would expect the teeth to either fall out as a result of malnutrition, or dark spots of tooth decay from lack of hygiene. Fun animal fact: Echidna’s are relatives of duck-billed platypuses and have a beak, spikes, a kangaroo-like pouch, and lays eggs.

I swim at this swim school and I applied for a job which they told me I would get since I am already trained in swimming techniques but they actually refused to hire me because I was “too qualified for this position” then got a note saying “try again next time” as if I could simply y learn how to swim.
But can't they just underpay?
17:08 funnily enough jesus himself ransacked a church because they were forcing ppl to pay to attend
Some people just hear what they want to hear😅
Sorry, that's not what Jesus did. He attacked the sellers on the Temple grounds. These people were selling things like doves & other sacrificial items to people who were going into the Temple proper to offer up things to their god. They weren't charging people money to enter the Temple, they were selling sacrificial animals &special scarves to cover themselves with while inside.

I did a little observation at my last job, the cis straight ones were on their high horse, doing the bare minimum, and getting praised for it.

21:17 Right because no one has ever had to walk on eggshells around a conservative coworker 😑

Actually a fascinating fact - even though dinosaurs lay eggs they did not sit on them to hatch them.
Yeah Australia once declared war against the massive population of emus....
The emus won
One small point to add - it wasn't dinosaurs->meteor->birds. Avian dinosaurs (aka birds) co-existed with non-avian dinosaurs for a long, long time. So it was more like dinosaurs -> dinosaurs and birds -> meteor -> most dinosaurs went extinct, but birds survived.
To be honest, as an introvert I loved the 2 yrs of lockdown due to the pandemic. I had a readymade reason for not wanting to be visited or go out. Many new businesses started delivering or improving their delivery services so I didn’t need to go out amongst ppl. So my mental health actually improved as a result of it 😅

After all this time conservatives try to convince everyone that actual skills and qualifications should be more important than race or gender (implying that the reason top positions mostly have white men is purely due to them having higher qualifications) she just goes out to openly say - if you mention pronouns in your CV - I'm not even looking at your qualifications.

That birth giver was really pissing me off, because my own birth giver's husband used to do the same, never let me speak my piece, and constantly spoke over me when I was trying to explain my point of view. Also gave me anxiety, for that poor boy. Needless to put someone through that, just because of who they sleep with. She's upset because he was prolonging the inevitable
She's the one prolonging it, that's not on him and it wasn't on you when you were put through that sht either. My incubator, as I call mine to those to 'get it', is the same way.
These grown people with no emotional regulation manipulating their kids (for lack of a better term) into taking blame to the point where we can still carry some on without even realizing it. She's mad she can't control him.
"the reason why you can't get someone out of your head is because you're stuck in their head." Dude created a paradox.
It's like "when two mind-readers are reading each other's minds at the same time, whose thoughts do they hear"
There was a game called Sucker For Love which had an ending based on that idea. 😋

I think in one of the endings she just blows up the world to make a point. 🤭
Jamie Lee Curtis is a good actor and absolutely deserves the awards she earns. She's a very nice person irl.
I don't think that they were actually criticizing her win I think the thread was actually pointing out how the article linked singled out only the one white actor who won and didn't mention any of the other awards the movie got.
@@ookamiblade6318 Oh I'm sure, people just get very carried away with this sort of thing.
Nah the article was pointing out that her role was minor compared to Stephanie Hsu, the main antagonist and biggest supporting actress. Who undoubtedly had a better and more intricate role than Jamie. Love Jamie but she should’ve gotten an award for Halloween or something else. Everything Everywhere was Stephanie’s baby so I’m just disappointed she was purposefully overlooked.

The lady at the end is incredibly patient with the TERF. Incredible.
To a certain extent, you have to be … bc trans people are often viewed as “too woke” and “too extreme”
Also, the calmer she is, the less chance it’ll escalate.
And no one likes a woman standing up for herself and showing justified rage.
All those requirements put on woman and trans woman or other marginalized woman to be seen as “reasonable” are not fair, but it’s sort of what people have to do to try to be safer.
I doubt I could of held myself that well tbh. I don’t think we should aspire to be as patient as her (bc ppl have a right to be angry/hurt) but I admire her for how she dealt w it for sure.

Terfs don't deserve any respect. I came out to my parents at 12 years when I didn't have a cellphone or any access to the internet. Guess what their first reasoning was anyway though.
Well basically things got only worse afterwards and I moved out the day I turned 18. My mother is pissed that I won't talk to her but like?? You literally don't respect me as a human being.
I wish I could have stayed with them as I'm quite literally starving due to inflation and barely earning money but that wasn't a place for me to live.
I've said it before. When we all lived in villages, everyone knew who the town idiot was and ignored him. In the internet age, you have to actually think before ignoring an idiot since you probably haven't encountered them before and the number of idiots that have found each other online and formed groups have given them a voice that is harder to ignore simply because there are SOOO many idiots that their shouting is crowding out the facts.
25:35 Very, very incorrect. As said by Click, most flights you can only cancel 12-24 hours in advance, but in addition to that, there are a lot of flights with a standby list, meaning even if you could somehow cancel 5 min before the flight, those seats will still be filled. And finally, the only thing you'll earn is a 1 way ticket to being banned from that airline, because you are not just screwing the airline over, but also other customers of the airline.
To be fair: if you ARE thinking about another person so much that you are compelled to stalk them... they probably can't stop thinking about you either... not for any reasons that are good. But yeah if I knew I was being actively stalked by someone that obsessed with me for some reason I too would likely be thinking about them a lot. You know really cute stuff; like buying that first can of pepper spray, when I am applying for a restraining order... special moments.
Ah yes, the sleepless nights googling how to legally install a camera at the front door of your apartment and the parking space. ❤
15:23 there's a reason the foster care system exists. And as someone who has spent 11 years in the system, I don't just say that for the sake of saying it. Fucking hell. That is neglect if I've ever seen it.
The Brog college drink thing was basically college kids drinking a shit ton of alcohol and caffeine mixed together. The caffeine makes the blood vessels larger which allows for more alcohol into the bloodstream. And essentially giving people severe alcohol poisoning. Food theory recently get a really good breakdown of this
*gasps* hello fellow theorist, and yes he did i love Matpat always making something educational and entertaining
what? caffeine does not make blood vessels larger (it actually constricts them) and it has no effect on the metabolism of alcohol by the liver. the issues with mixing caffeine and alcohol are that caffeine is a stimulant and alcohol is a depressant, so mixing the two creates the illusion of cancelling each other out when what’s actually happening is it’s pulling your body systems (mainly CNS and cardiovascular) in opposite directions. it has nothing to do with the size of your blood vessels or the absorption rate of alcohol
@@sylmaerie I was just retelling the knowledge i got from the video if I said it wrong I apologize but either way we agree that drinking alcohol and caffeine is a bad combination
