I am loving this new format! And the "Terryisms" crack me up... " $100, some of y'all spend that on beer and cigarettes". 😂. Also the OG50GM is the most underrated and under appreciated lens in Sony's catalog. Look at what a Leica Noctilux , without AF motors, cost and weighs. Subbed, liked, commented❤
Running my business on a nifty fifty, a pancake 24mm f2.8, and an old (and LOUD) 35mm f2. Still have a looooooong way to go, but I've been investing in advertising instead of gear. Still rocking 2x 80D bodies.
Forget the cheap lens, I love the rest of the video! Talking about how to shoot in different locations. You need to do more videos like that Terry!!💪🏾👍🏾💯
Found your channel recently when I did my binge watching A7rV reviews before I binged my wallet and got one. Subbed for the consistent work and not crazy gimmicky Ive been seeing.

Nice man, cool video once again and I like the 'around town' aspect. What's funny is I super dig the 'auto framing' mode on the ZV-E1 too - esp during a livestream cause its so unusual. Funny how i love it, but there's haters up in my the comments on the 'moving camera.' It's double awesome cause when you crop into vertical mode your right in the middle too.
Lol. I have this lens but still haven’t gotten rid of it. As soon as I tried to take pic of my daughter on the swings at the park, I knew it was time! Now stills, it’s amazing for the price. If Sony updated this lens to faster motors, I think they would kill too much of their 1.4 sales. It’s a great focal length. But with this little one around, this lens gets no play. Anyone want one for cheap hit me up. Great video fam.
One of my favorite lenses is the canon 70-210 f4. I brought it when i first started for $75. Its loud clunky has a push pull zoom. But it's rendering is pleasantly unique to me, but im slightly embarrassed to take it out in public😂
0:32 random comment but I like the framing here. Also love my nifty 50, fantastic for photos. I don’t use it much for video. Pretty sure I paid $200 for it at B&H in NYC 2 years back and I still feel it was worth it.
I appreciate this episode because I thought y’all forgot because a lot of cheap lenses are pretty good and most can’t afford expensive lenses and gear so nice video
50 1.8 have alway been swiss army knifes , the workhorses , the bread and butter the linch pins .. ahh you get the point. I think 50 1.8 are so easy to make , it's actually hard to make a bad one , optically at least - build quality, Af etc could be price factors . But a 50 1.8 should be at any photography kit because why not?
After I saw this video I found the nifty fifty for $80 (& attached to a a5100). I’m enjoying the super compact size. It’s slow to focus but gives me some fun images. Thanks.
Ha nice. I have taken photos that appeared in national fashion magazines with this lens years ago. Also had photos published taken with the Canon version as well 😃 However, the Canon shots were on a cheap Rebel camera to give me closer to an 85mm
You honestly can’t go wrong with the Sony 50 FE. Yeah the auto focus isn’t the best, but I’m sure you remember once upon a time the Sony FE was literally the only option you had on a budget if you wanted to shoot portraits starting off. I’m still pleased with the $250 I spent, the next best thing was Sigma f1.4 $800+ or the Zeiss f1.4 900+ That so called “GANGSTA MODE” wasn’t even a option for me after paying 3k for the a7riii. My bank account was cooked lol
Nope. It can’t seat all the way. I’m looking for a different cage because of it. No could probably use a dremel and shave it down but I ain’t got time for all that
I didn’t know you were in Ohio, for some reason I thought you were in Chicago. I grew up in Columbus. We used to meet at the Quaker State at Polaris for bike nights there. I’m not sure if that one is still open or not.
Disagree. Inhave this particular lens to go with my old a7r2. And although the af is snotvsnappy, i love it because in video mode, af is SMOOTH and not abrupt. I dont get it how someone wants a fast abrupt af in video. Also, i love the slmost linear focus ring. It feels like a faster racking vintage manula lens.
GM lenses don't have any character, they are made to be the sharpest and optically the best, Zeiss made a couple of lenses with a character back in the day, now Sony doesn't produce any lenses of that kind (speaking exclusively of AF lenses).
@@TerryWarfield LOL sorry my man, I thought I saw a video you made about that... My bad!! I just checked, it was you getting rid of the A7IV which I am about to do... Sick of the over heating. But don't have the funds for the FX3 yet and not sure about the FX30
Someone hasn’t been watching my videos…I’ve been holding them for a while. Idk why yall get so bent out of shape about it. It’s just a microphone. The proximity effect holding the mic closer to the source sounds much better in my opinion. If this was a production absolutely I wouldn’t be holding it. But for UA-cam videos where I’m talking? I prefer holding it
You didn’t have to attack me with the beer comment like that
😂😂

Not he lens, its the photographer behind the lens! I shot a wedding with that 50 and a the 90 macro and was surprisingly pleased with what I got.
Big facts
I'd rather pick up a 50 1.2 or 1.4 GM/Sigma then
Confirming if you made it out that dirty water…
@@mchwmediado you have one of those lens.
@@jamesjackson4264 I have used them multiple times but don't own them. Got a 85 1.4 tho

As Ansel Adams said "The most important part of the camera is the 12 inches behind it." BTS was awesome. Thanks!
yo great video man ive been trying to get myself to record some videos; the bts scenes help a lot

The Sony 50 mm F1.8 is my favorite portrait lens. Noisy as hell for video but I love it.
Great BTS content!

That lens got me to shoot for FashionNiva, I do miss it LOL very light wish it was more sharper, bang for the buck
A damn good lens for a damn good price. Love that little thing more than the F2.5G. 👌
Haha! I just picked up this lens on sale to have an inexpensive prime for some things. It is noisy but it has a nice look when it's locked.
Great idea using the OP3 case to clip on your mic. #stealingit
Gangster mode😂
Curious to know if the DJI Mic 2 works with the hotshoe Sony adapter when using the ZVE1 and the smallrig cage
Nope. It can’t seat all the way. I’m looking for a different cage because of it. No could probably use a dremel and shave it down but I ain’t got time for all that
I need to grab a 50mm to add to my gear arsenal.
My cheap fast standard length is the Samyang/Rokinon 45/1.8.
Get a Beercan Minolta lens... 70-210 f/.4 Macro (just for USD.80.00)... A great lens!
I still have one!!

I own this lens. It works 🤷🏿♂️. Of course if could afford more I would get more.

I suggest trying the Sony FE 28mm f/2, can be found even cheaper than the 50mm, I really like this lens, but it's overlooked by many.
The Nifty Fifty
Still love my junky 50mm 1.8.
