    I'd heard of these guys but didn't know nearly this much about them. Thanks for all the insights!

    "The Password" looks like Manny to me. Not saying he will be that good but his swing etc. reminds me of him. I kinda think trading him is the better option as he has value but isn't likely to be a guy we will call up this year as he's only made it to AA. This would allow him to catch on somewhere else, still let us hang onto Bies who probably has more upside if he can reach it, and not block a 40-man spot.
    He seems like a really interesting prospect but almost took too long coming through.

      @redseatradio  11 годин тому +1

      Yeah I think that is a fair enough assessment. I would just hate to give up on a guy simply because he figured himself out a year later than he was supposed too honestly

      @@redseatradio I get that but that's the kind of guys that catch on elsewhere all the time. I get wanting to keep him but he's not getting called up to play MLB from AA so it's either block a 40-man spot (which everyone hates) or risk a Rule 5 pick up for $50,000 (which would happen and be worse than trading him) at least with a trade we get something back if he's the 2nd or 3rd man in a trade for a starter I don't think we would complain (Cease, Crochett, [Name a Seattle starter here], etc )

    I’m going off topic but a couple weeks ago I endorsed resigning O’Neill. In retrospect I don’t think we can spend the money on a player who doesn’t post and who strikes out a lot and doesn’t hit with MOB. I would suggest giving Anthony and Campbell every opportunity in spring training to make the team and at least one of them play beside Rafaela in centerfield. And maybe look again to sign Teoscar Hernandez. Just a thought!

    These talented young International players make it possible for the Sox to trade some bigger name prospects like Teel and Anthony for elite Pitching.

    • @redseatradio
      @redseatradio  9 годин тому +1

      It makes it a bit easier, but I think it ultimately comes down to are they still building or are they competing right? If they want to compete right now it may not make sense to haul off Anthony or Teel and wait 2-3 more years in hopes these guys pan out

      @redseatradio We need Pitching and have too many Lefty hitters. We'll get a nice return. This team has plenty of offense.

      Why the hell would we trade Teel who we need for 2025? You would be a terrible GM

    As far as I know I'm not related to these guys 😂 it's always good to hear about young guys and as always I hope they both succeed as either major league players here in Boston or possibly trade bait. I'm guessing they will find a way to get him on the roster! It's going to be interesting. Keep up the good work 👍

    I have some intel on Jhostynxson Garcia..I've def posted about him often this year,esp how dominant he was in high A...A couple of times in the last month or so,I've listened to Ian Cudnall and the guys at soxprospects speak about Garcia from the times they saw him live during the season...They agreed that the guy absolutely murders the fastball! One thing they spoke in specific detail was that he was missing literally every breaking ball,,and A LOT of them...Cudnall broke down that pitchers were throwing him the same breaking pitch,pitch after pitch and he just couldn't make contact with it for the life of him..They said it was almost laughable..It's in their podcasts...This is over several games...I'm sure they're going to work on this specifically in Portland...I honestly wouldn't bet on a team putting the guy on their MLB roster without being able to even make contact with specific breaking pitches,but that's just me...If he can figure out the breaking stuff,,watch out..Kinda like Pedro Cerrano..lol..

    Jhostynxon reminds me of Manny Ramirez. I don't know if the red sox will be able to keep him, but i hope they can.

    First time I have heard about the brothers. Seems the Red Sox have big dilemmas ahead of them. Wonder how they will deal with whom they leave unprotected in the rule 5 draft. Tough choices. Thanks for the great information Corbin!!

      @@redseatradioThat tells me they will be active in the trade market this off-season and trading some of these depth pieces in the minors or risk losing many of them for next to nothing. Some of these guys are perfect trade sweeteners hopefully for a top of the rotation pitcher and a couple of quality late inning relievers.

  • @Anthony__420

    You can’t trade Kyle Teel. He is established in AA and AAA. The Garcia Catcher isn’t enough of a sample size to protect him in the Rule 5. Johan I’d Protect. Remember bogaerts had a twin brother Jair who was a catcher too who never panned out. I think they traded him to the cubs and he never made it

    • @redseatradio

      No no one is suggesting to trade him

    The Sox are going to have to clean out the cupboard to make space for Rule 5 protection and other acquisitions.
    Looking at the 40 man roster. On their MLB site they have 30 pitchers (seven of whom are on the 60 day IL). Seven of them are free agents, so that leaves 23 (including Giolito with a player option).
    Of the 17 field players only Danny Jansen and O’Neill are free agents. The Red Sox have a team option for Refsnyder.

    Both very good prospects, but I'm not sure either make it to the big leagues. Johanfran had major knee surgery. I suspect they will convert him from catcher to 1B when he returns.

      @@redseatradio just another set of brothers who could be in Red Sox future? Drew is in AA & Zach was drafted this year & ended the season in high A. Better contact than power from the right side for them , I believe

    If they want to increase their right handed hitting, I would like to see Meidroth get called up. Move Devers over to first or DH. Meidroth reminds me a lot of Youkilis. Youk didn’t have a ton of power in the minors either, but he developed it after getting called up. A right handed bat that can give you a .400 OBP would mean a lot right now.

    I think they are far enough away from MLB ready that the Sox don’t have to put them on the 40 man roster.

  • @Bondagefetishstore

    if they put Jhostynxon Garcia on the AAA 40 man roster. (I am not sure what it is called). I think he will be safe. I do not think he will be able to stick on a major keagure roster this year. He is not ready.
    Johanfran Garcia on the other hand has until 2026 oo the Red Sox have a couple years to evaluate. I see him an Teale splitting time when he is ready.
    The Re Sox have so much talent coming up. It would be good to trae young major league ready talent . That is worth the most.
    I am for giving all the minor leaguers a chance to show what they can do on a major league level. The young players they do not extend trade them after a couple seasons. I think this is a plan.

    • @redseatradio
      @redseatradio  9 годин тому

      Yeah so you can place someone on your 40 man roster and still have them play in the minor leagues. Guys like Luis Perales and Wikelman Gonzalez went through that last year
