- Until my new music is ready for release later this year, I want to share some of my previous work on Mondays and Fridays. Today's selection is "The King."
I wrote The King (2016) as part of a score for a film called "The Heart of Man." I had about 8 weeks to write 75 minutes of music for the film - it was one of the tightest deadlines I've ever worked under...especially because we had already booked a recording date with the orchestra in Bratislava, Slovakia before I started writing.
"The King" was composed for a scene towards the end of the film, and since I had written the score chronologically from the first scene to the last, the music in The King ended up being the culmination of all of the themes and melodies of the entire film up until the point it played. It's simple and distilled. I remember when I heard the 40 piece string section play it in person in the summer of 2016 - it was a taste of heaven.

Every time I hear this piece I visualize a person passing away and his/her spirit transcends from his body. As his/her spirit transcends, he/she gets a flashback of his whole life, happy, sad experiences. And the last flashback was him/her as a small baby being held by his/her mom and dad. And as the last memory fades, he/she smiles in a bittersweet way and finally meets the King above. (the music ends...) Thank you for this music Tony.🙏

Heart of Man has really touched me deeply, I regularly like to rewatch it. Always hits my heart when you give testimony in it, how Jesus came to prison to you to sit with you and said you can leave whenever you want. Only our Lord can make grown men cry like that, nothing breaks us like he does, only to put us together IN HIM, so we are whole. Jesus, forever our King....I cannot wait to hear the melodies in the New Jerusalem when everything is over....for now, this is a tiny taste of God's glory, we will one day see, taste and feel in full. Oh Lord

Beautiful peace poetry to my ears and soul...i died and saw heaven for a brief moment when I 19yrs old, and stood with Yeshuah while he told my time had not come to be with Him yet that i had to fufill my purpose, being with God was the most loving experience and heaven is being totally one with God snd His love more beautiful than you could ever imagine no pain no sadness only His love....God is home

Dude, I had no idea you produced and were in the heart of man when I started watching it. When you came on the screen I literally jumped out of my chair and yelled "THAT'S TONY ANDERSON!" The Heart of Man OST is amazing. I especially like how The King summarizes some of the leitmotifs found in the rest of the soundtrack in a sort of conclusion. Great piece of music as always, Tony.

I always loved your music. I found this masterpiece when I took a nap last week while listening to music and I woke up half asleep, drooling, hazy vision, with this track playing. I felt like I was in movie...It was calling I think, I felt that there was much more I can do in this life. Coincidence...maybe...but this came at a perfect time when I felt really low. If silent inner grace has a sound this is it. It feels like a year in 3 minutes. It feels like building up a certain energy to go on or to finally move on. It’s a goodbye and a re-start at the same time. As all before said: stunning, moving, impressive, touching, deep. You are an incredible composer. Tony Anderson is such a 🌠 star! Awesome pieces!
At first his music always sound good on bookshelf speakers.
But most of the time, like this piece, it has nice low frequency sounds, deep rumble in this song. Or it has more hidden low notes, only heard or maybe felt with subwoofers or bigger speakers.
That is a nice addition.
