According to Christianity an eternal being called God created the heavens and the earth(Genesis 1), He also created humans made in his image(Genesis 2) simply meaning we share some of the things He can do such as loving and ability to design stuff as we see in the world though we do so by what is already there, the first humans chose to disobey God's commands(Genesis 2-3) which were very clear and direct therefore sin entered into the world and since we are the seed of those who sinned it also affects us(Romans 3:23) and as we see brokenness, illness, wars, hate, strife and loss they are a product of sin. Since God who is holy, righteous and just He should punish sin by pouring out His wrath which a fair example would be the court systems in the world where one who has committed a crime won't be let go unless tried and judged, but God made a way that His wrath be satisfied by sending His only son Jesus Christ to die in our place(Romans 6:23, John 3:16) and since He is the perfect sacrifice(Hebrews 10-12) it was so once and for all and paid in full therefore whoever places their faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ where God's wrath was fully satisfied(Acts 1:21 and 2) as the Bible says their sins will be forgiven, the righteousness of Christ will be imputed unto them(2 Corinthians 5:21), will be a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:13-17) and receive the Holy spirit of God(John 14 and 16) which will guide them as well as their sanctification(conforming to the image of Christ and being made holy) as well as having an eternal inheritance in the kingdom of God. Am i the only one who feels sad listening to this? It puts a picture in my head of myself on my knees with my heart on the ground in front of me battered and beat until its flat and all i can do is sit there with tears flowing down my face questioning why I’m not enough
I’m not sure if this song encourages the feeling of sadness or whether it’s more positive letting you to feel like you can move forward as the clouds part. Maybe it depends on your emotional state at the time of listening? One things for sure, it’s a beautiful piece.
