Oryx didn't know about the Witness, but was aware of its presence.
I mean Oryx knows a LOT more than you'd think if you read the book of sorrows. He's incredibly intelligent

@@Pharaoh.911 I believe the reason he's named the "Navigator" is not only because he explores the universe but explores the *secrets* of the universe. Not only was Oryx one of the most powerful beings in the universe of Destiny, but from how he wrote the Book of Sorrows, this man may as well have multiple PhDs in philosophy, literature and whatnot.

Oryx knew of the Witness, Savathun tells him The Witness is dead which he is enraged by.

The D1 Taken King was very stoic
I feel like that was cause we were his enemies, and this is just his normal speaking voice, we know how ruthless he can be with countless civilizations under his kill count, it's not weird to think that he speaks to us with respect because we took him down ourselves.
also apparently the real reason was the guy who voiced Oryx was an audio engineer at bungie, with recent layoffs, I don't think hes there anymore, so they opted to use a new voice instead of AI
If this is real (not doubting, just healthy skepticism), this all but confirms that we're not just going to be tapping into Taken power, but learning to Take altogether. That HAS to be a new subclass
It’s not a new subclass lmao, the next subclass is pretty much gonna be resonance like rhulk uses
Had witch queen implemented strand originally. Lighfall would have been the 3rd darkness sub class could either been taken (blight) or something different. Then the final shape with prismatic being the 7th (bungie history with 7) subclass, which balances all three light and Dark power's into one.
I wish the third darkness subclass would come too. But, bungie will not do that@scorchingflames8493
We have a whole screen for taken already and they're adding assets to attribute to said power so I say a taken subclass is in the cards, but I think our taken blight will have something to do with the tentacles too visually at least@@twofacenoface-yb9my

The new Oryx voice sounds epic. Oryx barely spoke in taken king.
Honestly he sounds to much like venom now so I can't hear him talk without thinking of venom from the movies.
I wish he was a deeper and growl-y. Closer to his D1 counterpart.
The Hive in D1 were nothing more than dumb enemies. D2 made them more than that

There’s lore from season of the chosen where Xivu literally becomes big enough to crush a city on Torobatl under her feet. So no, she’s not shortest. Her size seems to be at the very least fluid.
I forgot if The Winnower was player 1 or player 2 of the "Flower Game"

Really hope they end up popping up again at some point. Thoigh I don’t see it happening anytime soon since I feel like they will wait. A-bit before having any storyline involving the Light and the darkness.
This episodes artifact lore page is a message from the Winnower to us, so they literally just popped up again.

who is winnower?
To put it simply… The Witness’ Boss. According to the Unveiling lore book, the Winnower and the Gardener are the opposing forces of the universe, utilizing the Darkness and the Light respectively. In the metaphorical “garden” preceding the universe as we know it, The Winnower would shape life and destroy it, while the Gardener would create, diversify, and spread it. The Winnower and the Gardener played a game with flowers, and The Winnower would always win with a “vexing” pattern. The Gardener became frustrated, and desired change and growth and uniqueness to life, while the Winnower became horrified with this thought, and desired a perfect and unchanging universe. So they fought, and then they put themselves into the game as Darkness and Light, and/or the concepts of cooperation and the Sword Logic, and/or some other form unknown to us. Now they are playing for keeps. It’s said that the Witness is the “First Knife” used by the Winnower to attack the Gardener, but the lore for the ship Nacre implies that there are others.
The winnower is a shapeless idea. The darkness represents all it is. Much how the light is the gardener and was represented by a teraforming semi sentient sphere (traveller)
The game between the gardener and winnower has now changed and now they may even take form at some point and be the next big bad if bungies writing team were even semi coordinated (:

@@mjthom08 eh doubt it. Narratively makes zero sense. If the darkness and the light are binding factors in the destiny universe then 'killing' one would have dire consequence for both the lore AND bungies revenue lol. We already know light without dark is bad, and dark without light is also bad.

New VA. OG VA didn't even wanna be listed for Oryx' voice back in the day. So likely didn't wanna come back and voice him again. So, new VA.
