Sending you so much love. It’s heartbreaking how much has been stripped away from Palestinians, along with those in the Congo, Sudan and many other places I am unaware of. Lands and lives once filled with beauty and abundance have been pillaged and degraded repetitively without much respite for years and years and years. The heaviness is so palpable, but it mustn’t sink as far as despair. I love this excerpt from Maya Angelou’s poem ‘Still I Rise’ Out of the huts of history’s shame I rise Up from a past that’s rooted in pain I rise I'm a black ocean, leaping and wide, Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.
