I would have no hesitation in choosing to fly with an airline using the A380. In business and economy classes, I have always found the A380 the most stress-free aircraft by FAR, on which to fly. In fact I have enjoyed every minute of all my flights as an A380 passenger, no matter where my seat was. It is spacious, comfortable and quite astoundingly quiet, even during take-off acceleration.
All the reasons you mentioned are secondary, and you missed THE main reason BA is maintaining and possibly growing the A380 fleet: with Heathrow running at capacity and the 3rd runway not getting built anytime soon, the only way for them to maintain/grow capacity out of it is by maintaining/growing their A380 fleet. It all boils down to Heathrow being at 98% capacity and nearly impossible to increase passenger volume without the A380
I genuinely think this and restricted landing slots in major hubs will drive the revival of the a380 even further. Think about it it would take 5/6. a320 to facilitate the capacity of 1 a380. Tim Clarke constantly advocates this point. Demand to fill them is there, if there was an engine retrofit option I think it would become highly profitable (route dependant)
I have been around for awhile and flown L1011, DC10, 747, 737. 727, 757, 767, 777, 787 a300/319/20/21/330/340/350. None compare with flying the 380 on those long haul flights. I have made several flights to Australia, plus Asia/Japan, on four seperate airlines, and my first choice is always, who uses an A380 on that route. Its not just the seat space, the stability, the quietness, and the reduced cabin air pressure, it just seems a more relaxing way to fly and it has big pulling power with the flying public.
British Airways have been interested in increasing the A380 fleet since the Willie Walsh days. Then they were interested in up to an additional 12 aircraft but the cost of new frames was said to be too expensive although it was said that second hand units could do the job except at that time there weren’t any. Then came COVID and the BA fleet ended up deserted on an airfield in France. Now it would appear that there are a number of pre-used airframes available with RR engines , they are probably the cheapest seats in the sky from an Aquisition point of view, especially when one is the only customer for them so, doubling the fleet, even incurring the cost of updating the cabins and bringing them up to BA standard still makes commercial sense. Only time will tell whether or not BA acquire more A380’s but it still wouldn’t surprise me😊
I was on a British airways A380 last week on a 9 1/2 hour flight and I enjoyed the flight and found the flight attendants very pleasant. There were plenty of bathrooms as well which is a surprise when compared to newer planes. I hope to get on another BA 380 sometime down the road. Just my experience

Both QANTAS and BA need to lift their game. Living in Perth, I prefer the Middle Eastern Airlines plus Singapore Airways to and from Europe. Business class is a very cost effective way to travel and the A380 is a lovely aircraft. I have to say that I find US carriers the worst in the world for attitude, service and comfort, apart from the dodgy budget carriers of course!
Regardless of what you think about the A380, it makes sense for many of BA's busy routes. Heathrow, BA's home base, with its limited slots is the type of airport the A380 was designed for. The only question is whether BA will continue to use the A380, if the answer is yes, a refit in line with the rest of the fleet is inevitable, rather than a surprise or shock.
I love that BA is focusing on enhancing customer comfort. After the challenges of the pandemic, passengers will value a premium experience more than ever.
The A380’s comeback is rather surprising. But then with the post pandemic surge in air travel, not so surprising. It’s high passenger capacity, unmatched comfort and quietness, made its comeback inevitable.
It pleases me no end that this magnificent aircraft will be flying for many years to come. The A380 is the smothest flight I've ever experienced, and I've flown in one several times! I'm now slumming it in 777's and feeling every bit of turbulence, like being driven down a potholed road. Long live the big birds!
Not really. Many have been retired and scrapped. Most won’t fly past 30 years of service unlike the 747 series that has been in service since the last 1960s 😉
There are so many false statements and misunderstandings in this video. One reason BA kept its A380’s is because it had to retire its huge and ageing 747 fleet and the only aircraft to match it in capacity was the 380’s which are much younger. It’s also struggling to meet capacity due to lack of aircraft and the ongoing delays with the 777X. BA would have junked the 380’s years ago if they didn’t need the capacity.

Overall, I think this revival of the A380 by British Airways is fantastic news for aviation enthusiasts and passengers alike. Its a classic that still has a lot to offer!

Given the enthusiasm for the A380 among passengers, crew and some airlines, if Emirates, British Airways, Singapore Ailines, Qantas and Korean Air, to name a few, continue to show their love of the A380, would Airbus ever consider building a new generation of A380s, working with all the OEMs, not least the engine manufacturers, in building a new generation of more efficient engines for it?
Unmatched comfort? I doubt BA could ever rival Emirates but a massive thumbs-up for the A380. I believe it will have many new leases of life. Worst airline I have flown on in the last 2 decades. I flew from Vancouver to LHR on their 380. The food was simply inedible and the cabins dated. The crew apologised but it's not their fault.
Yes I think British airways is doing the right thing with the A380 especially when Lufthansa and Emirates and QATAR airways are all keeping their A380S fleets so it makes sense that British airways is doing the same especially when the other airlines are upgrading the insides of the planes completely and they wouldn’t do it the didn’t think there was enough demand from passengers to use the planes and for the airlines to make money but the other thing is that there’s a lot more space on the A380 for passengers than any other big aircraft the only plane that comes close is the 747-830 and it’s another plane that Lufthansa is keeping the late 2040S and it’s the same with the 747-430 Lufthansa is keeping both of them because they can make good money from them and it’s the airlines should be keeping the A380S
What is the source of this story please? I can not find one single mention of this on a search of the internet..not one. Very strange. So please quote your source.
In the meantime I don’t recommend flying BA. I just came back from Washington DC on one of the A380s with my wife in business and both business class seats were dead / no power / nothing worked. Nothing ! Oh say the crew, yes there are 10 seats on this particular aircraft that ‘simply don’t work’ that’s 2 flights a day that BA knowingly sells to their (now ex) premium paying customers twice a day and the poor crew get it in the neck every single flight and they hate it and are ashamed that BA puts them in this position, the compensation game gets played and everybody loses. Including BA. Even the crew echo my thoughts that BA is NOT the British flagship. For a long time it’s become complacent, boring, old-fashioned, they talk too much and don’t deliver. I have zero confidence that the new fit out will be leading in the industry. It will be out of date before it’s fitted. Only the fatties whose companies madly continue to agree to pay those business class fares fly BA and whose identity is solely based on the colour of their frequent flyer card, continue to fly on BA. You’re welcome lads (and lasses). Anyway, I always avoid BA now, I suggest you do too… fly east to the Middle East and Asia, those airlines know how to look after their customers….
First time i ever flew B.A was Hong Kong to Heathrow. Great plane 747, but had to pay extra £2 for earphones then hand them back in at end of flight. Never flown with them again
@@curranhouse I remember it well. Flew from Hong Kong to Heathrow via Calcutta. 1978. Refused the earphones and never went with them again. I been all over the world since then never been charged extra for anything. Is very sad because the staff are brilliant at B.A
Your videos would be better without the clickbait titles. For example "Every airline prefers the A350 to Boeing." That type of headline turns off viewers interested in factual info. Many are also much longer than necessary.
I agree. If you need to save money on your videos, why don’t you hire six year olds with a much better command of the English language than AI to narrate your videos?
All these channels have been to UA-cam school where they learn clickbait 101. The other thing they do is spend about 10 seconds on the topic, and fill up the rest with random shit. Bear in mind, any video which is longer than 10 minutes will have a YT ad in the middle of it, so that's $$$ for them.
@@FLIGAVIA You don't work for YT. You work for US. You're going down a dark path following what the algorithm likes instead of what WE like. You've been told, now knock off the hyperbolic bullshit.

But i prefer spending my money on something meaningful .... oh ! I like the 380 and older 777 but am wary of anything Boeing and chose flights accordingly.....
Full of errors; no one is checking this shit before it goes out. It's just quantity over quality, and the YT algorithm favours lots of quantity. Irrespective.

The A380 would be a fantastic aircraft if Airbus were to re-engine them with modern engines. Unfortunately Airbus decided not to do this although Emirates asked for it. Real shame!
If only airlines will get their mothballed aircrafts back into service instead of trying to outdo each other with new aircraft, the world and environment will be much better. They endeavours to tempt customers with new aircraft is motivated by greed!
i would wager part of this is driven by the departure of the 747 from their fleet during the pandemic etc, and the current uptick trend of passenger numbers on principle routes.

During Singapore Airlines says "GOODBYE" to their AIRBUS A380 as I know in that video, Maybe BRITISH AIRWAYS can add more Superjumbo Jet from rent a plane/used aircraft for BRITISH AIRWAYS "huge" plans for their AIRBUS A380. Even Garuda Indonesia, if it is Indonesian flag carrier/Indonesia's National airline have a "huge" plans of AIRBUS A380 for International route and also Umroh and Hajj route during Garuda Indonesia's BOEING 747 has already retirement forever and ever.

This is a upgrade long over due. Especially after its Vueling management ideas thoughout. It lags far behind many airlines, not even rated in the top ten Airlines. Besides its aircraft, it needs to sort out its baggage, food, electronics and customer complaints areas plus it would help if the staff of the airline were better thought of.
The problem with Heathrow is that they have too many planes. Cramming more passengers onto fewer, larger planes would help ease congestion.
Yes I agree it’s why keeping the A380 makes sense especially when it’s not as big as some of the new two engine aircraft
LH has planned to remove their 747-400 from the fleet very soon …
British Airways retired the 747-400 as of 3 years ago
You can guarantee BA aren't doing it for their passengers!!
BA used to be amazing two decades ago. Now, it’s horrendous. I avoid flying with them as much as possible.
So sad.
@@FLIGAVIAyou obviously have no idea
What is the source of this story please? I can not find one single mention of this on a search of the internet..not one. Very strange. So please quote your source.
It’s made up fantasy nonsense.
@@richardmcshee3831lol it really triggers you
In the meantime I don’t recommend flying BA.
Embarrassing for BA.
First time i ever flew B.A was Hong Kong to Heathrow. Great plane 747, but had to pay extra £2 for earphones then hand them back in at end of flight. Never flown with them again
£2 for earphones you hand back.. Welcome to rip off Britain
@@curranhouse I remember it well. Flew from Hong Kong to Heathrow via Calcutta. 1978. Refused the earphones and never went with them again. I been all over the world since then never been charged extra for anything. Is very sad because the staff are brilliant at B.A
Great
Your videos would be better without the clickbait titles. For example "Every airline prefers the A350 to Boeing." That type of headline turns off viewers interested in factual info. Many are also much longer than necessary.
Plus the bot voice that has more errors than Yogi Berra reciting Shakespear..
Many keywords help boost YT algorithm so we have no other choice :( btw thank you for your interest in our content.
@@FLIGAVIA You don't work for YT. You work for US. You're going down a dark path following what the algorithm likes instead of what WE like. You've been told, now knock off the hyperbolic bullshit.
Flying is a process where you get onto a flying thing, go to sleep and get off sometime somewhere else ... you might enjoy Business class if someone else is paying ..
But i prefer spending my money on something meaningful .... oh ! I like the 380 and older 777 but am wary of anything Boeing and chose flights accordingly.....
Very true!
Who else thought the A380 wouldnt return after the pandemic?
The AI voiceover really sucks
Full of errors; no one is checking this shit before it goes out. It's just quantity over quality, and the YT algorithm favours lots of quantity. Irrespective.
Don't have any other way :( If there is any other mistake that we can fix, please let us know! Thank you.
Congratulations on finding 15 different ways to say the same thing over and over again....poor quality script. Just full of waffle and fluff. Meanwhile the stock footage shows nothing new. Sorry but this is a bad video.
Thanks for the view and feedback.
ok Karen
Good, I might return to BA if they do.
They did.
Excellent mini capsule 💙🤍👍🏻👌🏼
Give better service BA and I will fly with you again but not until.
Clearly not flown with them for a while. I'm presently BA Gold, treated like royalty, even before that the onboard service is always brilliant.
i fully agree, 3 long haul business class flights from bangkok Maldives and singapore in the last 18 months and they have all been shocking ... rude staff, rough interiors and poor food,
ironically i had better service on EVA economy and Emirates economy
@vandamonium1731 I find Emirates vulgar and common. Cream leather, they look as if designed by a WAG or The Only Way is Essex cast member
The A380 would be a fantastic aircraft if Airbus were to re-engine them with modern engines. Unfortunately Airbus decided not to do this although Emirates asked for it. Real shame!
New information coming soon!
If only airlines will get their mothballed aircrafts back into service instead of trying to outdo each other with new aircraft, the world and environment will be much better. They endeavours to tempt customers with new aircraft is motivated by greed!
i would wager part of this is driven by the departure of the 747 from their fleet during the pandemic etc, and the current uptick trend of passenger numbers on principle routes.
yep thanks for sharing your thoughts man
lol where did you dream that BA was adding lieflat seats in club Europe?
BRITISH AIRWAYS "huge" plans for their AIRBUS A380 ? Oh yeah !
It seems to be good news :)
Thanks @@FLIGAVIA ☺️ ! I remember that yesterday about Singapore Airlines says "GOODBYE" to their AIRBUS A380. That's why if Garuda Indonesia and other airlines just like BRITISH AIRWAYS, AIR INDIA, GLOBAL AIRLINES etc. That will add more Superjumbo jet only in rent a plane/used aircraft during Singapore Airlines says "GOODBYE" to their AIRBUS A380 for this year.
Me I stopped traveling BA years ago, it had that large conglomerate attitude of sod the customer. They have a very long way to go, even to catch up, let alone become "the worlds favourite airline"!!!!! Ha Ha Ha. What a joke!
All went downhill when penny pinching Willie Walsh was in charge - he was more suited to an Irish low cost operator!
Unusual name my friend…
@@charliechristmas5147 well i dont believe it, someone else called christmas! Unless of course its just a front name.
Are they going to do something about the awful staff? Surly, unhelpful, & mostly unsuited for service jobs as most seem to think were lucky to be on their airline.
It’s too bad
BA staff are terrible as is the overall service
You have no idea
Awful repetitive American commentary - 5 mins max!
:(
Fr
Most of these should have “s”s on them. Example: “B777s” as they don’t just operate one
Where are you sourcing the information about the upgraded club Europe cabin?
Bussines Insider, you can find and read it.
Dreadfully repetitious.
I've flown extensively for business in the last 30yrs and there's one airline above all others that I'll avoid. British Airways are, quite simply, the worst airline I have ever flown. I will take longer and more expensive routes to avoid flying BA.
I would rather suffer the misery of a thousand cuts, crawl through broken glass into a swimming pool of vinegar than fly BA!! Shocking 'National Carrier'' with no customer service!!
You scare me😂
A380’s aren’t any spacious onboard than any other wide body. The seats are just as shoehorned in to maximise profits.
a380 fanboys liked this video
Thank you
Yesss... 😁
It’s it is a wank airline to be honest and I’m British 🇬🇧 choose quatar or emirates I’m sending my review from Japan
Oh yes! ❤🎉
thanks
I love the new club suite however the ying yang business class on the A380 is awful
Really? Can I know the details?
Those colours schemes/decor looked very depressing almost nauseating
