This is one of the wilder games I've played in a while. He has a nice strategy to counter German, there's a wild flank and massive fights. Not much left, but Never. Give. Up.

Wonder if u think double walling main front side + walling right side choke while you were aging to 4 then macro'ing for mercantilism straight into 2 heavies (delete 1 low hp xbow to overpop) then max out nats for more overpop and macro for either guard skirm/chavaglier + nat ups while pooping out factories eventually would have been the move.
Either way though, I think u realized at that point spain eco was doodoo so u kind of had it at that point you aged to 4 w/busty yumyum coin crate tech. Wonder if he had marv year or spanish gold in deck

Btw, You did get vet pike for that first fight, dw. The vet dopp tech shifted over for some reason once u got it, so it appeared right under the pike and confused you lol

Yea I def had some struggles with walling, I'm used to aoe4 where it's much easier now. I should not have overextended with xbow while aging but ya my eco was going nuts and I felt it was pretty much over, tho it was scary to lose like whole army while hitting age 4. And yea that pike tech really confused me but it seemed I was okay all along lol

25:25 Haha, you did actually get the pike upgrade. You just used the crossbow upgrade then, lmao
It's a kinda bug that makes the upgrades in military buildings go to strange places that obscure what they actually upgrade.

When your heavy cav has only 6.75 speed the raiding game is pretty much over as soon as the enemy has goons imo.

Very nice micro there. Quick question: Don't you like the Landwehrs card? Those units cost the same as the xbows but are MUCH better than them, especially with the counter-infantry rifle upgrade from the arsenal. They really come in handy when you run out of gold mines, which happens like 80% of the games as Germany lol

Hmm, I'm reading about this card now, have never used it. Since it's an age 3 card it's using 1000 res to send, not sure it's worth it. Any other age 3 unit shipment seems better and 1k wood would help get estates built. You typically don't want to keep making this type of unit in the long term, but I'd have to see them in action to be sure.

Is there any reason why didjt build any plantations for so long?

Units that cost gold typically require at least 2 plantations for contast production(because plants gather so slowly), and before I could afford that, it was important to have the food income to maintain villager production. Therefore, I prioritized mills and military to defend while I produced vils, to them eventually afford the multiple plantations.

why would you ship the Chevauleger card? except for a quick pop of dragoons

Faster than WW, have range resist unlike WW, quicker fire animation for hit and run

Chevaulegers also have really good hand attack, so they can wreck skirms and artillery in a pinch, and since they are heavy on food instead of coin they make it easier to macro as Germany.
