This is one of the best SciFi-series I've watched so far. It is intense, you have to stay focused and yet you miss stuff like the things you show us. Thank you for your breakdowns, keep going!
'Quantum entanglement but it's people.' When two people are entangled, they each split into three states : one where they're dead , one where they live and one when they're ghosts/both, the second person adopts the state opposite to the first (jo dies/ paul lives and vice versa , irene dies/henry lives. Each person in each state affect themselve in other states but also the person entangled with them. My guess so far is that there are 3 or multiple henrys including one who discovered the device much earlier and is using it to influence the other henrys (not sure what for yet, maybe because death is unpreventable and they need other realities to figure out the tech so there's always one where irene is alive?)
6:54 there’s three Henry/bud. The third Henry is probably the one who was able to travel through time or something and mess with the tapes on the cruise ship.
Skagerak is also briefly mentioned in ep. 2 when Henry gets a message saying they contacted him. Irena seemed unpleased that Henry received a message from them.
It definitely feels like we're following three, or more, realities that have become entangled. I think Bud had something happen on his mission that caused a split, and he's been trying to undo it ever since. Though he only seems to be making things worse by entangling more people.
I almost clapped when Magnus fell. He was so annoying. I don’t have a clue what is happening but I’m enjoying the show. Jo and Bud are both great characters.
There are so many theories being presented via your video, other videos, and comments. It’s great to see this type of friendly debate over such a great science fiction show. I am confused as hell but love it non the less.
This is what I always feared about parallel universe. The copy of you will be so close but with so tiny differences that if you shift to that parallel universe everyone would think of you as crazy
Henry without glasses, that was talking to Henry with glasses seems to be in an orange light (Liminal?), orange is everywhere in the episodes where dramatic turns take place, Alice's picture on cupboard in first episode, Jo's parachute, and straps in the capsule, the rescue crew's cargo box, Alice's vest on the boat hearing Paul's voice, the FBI agent standing next to the orange posts, Alice talking about The Valya in the diner, and the oranges behind Fredrick as he's talking to Jo on the phone, who's at the diner. IDK still crunching the numbers lol
Yes! I noticed that, too. When we see him writing it, looks like the handwriting of a child, but when Jo sees, it looks like the handwriting of an adult. @@elleli4983
Just finished the fourth episode, this explainer and the previous one he did is the best ones out there. Some explainers did not do so well. I will be subscribing and tapping the bell for all future uploads. Much appreciated.
Easter eggs - Schrodingers cat while she is in the office. Mandela Effect - Joke about Nelson Mandela, Alice rabbit - Alice in Wonderland, Alice hiding in the closet - Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe. Those were the obvious ones for me. Maybe Lithium from Nirvana but that one might be too obvious.
My theory is that Joe does belong to the universe she is in but the experiment makes her see the other realities and makes her have both memories, because she plays the piano as if she knew. And the other is that there are not 2 realities and just as you say there are 3 where Joe dies, where he lives and one that stayed in space in a loop and that is the one that saves her when she gets stuck.
I think that everything that you mentioned in this video is extremely interesting and I agree with everything except the part where you say that when Magnus tells his daughter “you won’t be seeing her again” I believe he is not talking about Jo but about the other Alice. I might be wrong, but having watched that episode again it’s the only way that it makes sense in my head, considering that Jo is dead and that other than seeing her mom, she would most likely be seeing the other version of herself. Other than that, I think this was an excellent breakdown and I cannot wait to watch next weeks video. Cheers.
Is one dimension shared? Like maybe that explains how Jo #2 can harness the powers of piano playing from Jo #1? Definitely 3 dimensions or parallel timelines. Two where the Jo’s traded places. One where Jo died. For some reason, scared Alice is able to see the death reality.
I think the cabin scene he said you wouldn't see her again actually maybe refers to the shot that Alice was beading and she saw her mom so beads never got completed in reality that show started but the other Alice has a complete beaded necklace
What did you think about the Henry being told he has a nessage from the Marine Observatory (episode 2, about 18 minutes in)? This was BEFORE Jo receives her tapes and letters ???
When Henry said “curiosity killed the cat” it seemed to me he was talking to Jo. Warning her against investigating further. Note also how the handwriting on Henry’s white board changed between when we first see it and when Jo sees it
@@TheorySmack the WORDS appear to be the same. But the handwriting is distinctly different. Now that could just be a continuity error. But given the attention to detail in other areas, it seemed intentional to me
This show is going to a trippy trippy place and I am here for it. And I think that when the dad said you won't see her again he may have been talking about herself. Because when she saw herself at her Mom's wake she freaked out. And I think the henry that killed the guy wants back into the og universe he came from because he think he is about caught for murder in universe he is in.
I think this is the same Jo exposed to the Cal device since the exposed Jo was speaking Swedish with Alice and this Jo doesn’t understand why Alice doesn’t speak Swedish. Good job with the reviews and keeping it all straight because it very confusing to speak of these alternate realities without confusing yourself.
Thanks! If you go back to ep1 (I actually missed this at first), there are 2 Jos and 2 Alice’s during the iPad call. One pair is speaking Swedish, and one is speaking English.
@@TheorySmack after reading your comment I rewatched E1 and I see it now. Starts off with red and blue sweater Alice who speaks Swedish and English but after Jo shows her the garden there’s a green collared sweater Alice and she only speaks English, then it alternates between the 2 Alices. Can’t take your eyes off the screen for a moment.
No! both Joes were in space, look at how the daughters hair changes in the iPad call. In the one call she’s speaking Swedish and in the other she’s speaking English. The editor tried to hide this from us by intercutting the scenes.
Lithium is mainly prescribed for Bipolar Disorder. I bet it inhibits them from sliding between universes. All of the astronauts that were taking it had what were diagnosed as delusions. They were likely exposed to a singularity like the CAL machine replicates.
The problem with the quantum computer is that it needs to hold its bits in a state of superposition to be functional. This is very difficult as in our reality these states collapse almost immediately. Apparently Bud/henry has figured out a way to maintain superposition.
Idk if I’m here for this show. It seems way too tropey. I was so super excited about it and the first two eps had me hooked. I started being skeptical on ep 3 and this one didn’t help. I want to like it so much but I’m concerned the twists aren’t anything more than “twists” for the sake of it. I’ll give it one more ep, but I’m not committed or interested.
I just looked after seeing your comment, I think it’s part of the helmet over her eye. I found another image from the side and her eye doesn’t appear to be bandaged.

Yoooo, I need to go back and see that!
This isnt being talked about enough. Also I wonder if "your guy in Egypt" will play a bigger role.
S1E1 7:36 sec Alice is speaking Swedish and is wearing red and blue sweater. 7:46 she is speaking English and wearing a blue jacket

One of those multiple realities movies, all of them can be occuring realities, because of the material on ship.

Agreed!
I love how complex the plot is and that it's getting into some deep physics 😊 great review and theories, I'll be coming back after each episode!
Awesome! Thanks for being here

Watch episode 5 and then immediately watch episode 1. Episode 5 ends where episode 1 begins. It helped me understand what was happening at the cabins
This channel deserves way more views.Good breakdown!!Subscribed!!
Thanks for the love!

This was a great episode, Good writing.
the "lithium, death in space" handwriting on whiteboard is different on two scenes
I thought so, but when I went back and looked again it looked the same to me…
🤷♂️
no I screenshot it. one loos like the hand was shaking while writing this@@TheorySmack
Came here to say this. Maybe an indication to an illness Henry or bud has?
Yes! I noticed that, too. When we see him writing it, looks like the handwriting of a child, but when Jo sees, it looks like the handwriting of an adult. @@elleli4983
One is written more at an angle while the other is more straight on the whiteboard. The letters M and A in trauma are different as well.
i just watch episode 1-4 at ance from start to finish, and i also have a headache now but it was very enjoyable !

Great video. Keep them coming 👍, and I believe there are at least 3 dimensions (one being a shared one)

I been looking for UA-cam videos breaking this show down and glad I found yours. Subscribe for sure

As good a summary as exists.

oh man u really watch the show with great cautiousness and detailing .
Can I just say that the actress who -lays Alice is an incredibly beautiful girl with haunting eyes. Great choice.

Honestly, I didn’t connect the dots. Lol.
Very interesting though!
Henry and Irena seem to know a lot more about the observatory (and everything that’s going on) than what we the audience have been shown
Great video🎉
Thank you 😁
When Henry said “curiosity killed the cat” it seemed to me he was talking to Jo. Warning her against investigating further.
Note also how the handwriting on Henry’s white board changed between when we first see it and when Jo sees it
Did the writing change though? I thought I looked into that and it was mostly the same

Ah snap, that's a good theory on Alice!
the devil in the cabin is actually a changeling
Yeah, I missed that detail. Good callout!
The demon characters is from the cover of the book the Changeling, and in the other timeline was an angel.
Quantum effects occurs at the atomic scale. The screen writers are confused by the little they learned in some popular science book.
This show is breaking my brain.

Also the alarm went off before the collision in Joe 1’s universe and it didn’t go off in Joe 2’s.
Good point
I think the other her was the person that saved the main character and she died in spacecraft
Jo exhibits the same behaviors as a paranoid schizophrenia patient, and the drug is typically used to treat that illness.
Makes you wonder if “crazy” people really just know something we don’t… lol
3 Jos alive, dead and alive in dead world. Makes sense
What do you all think the Lithium pills are doing?
Lithium is mainly prescribed for Bipolar Disorder. I bet it inhibits them from sliding between universes. All of the astronauts that were taking it had what were diagnosed as delusions. They were likely exposed to a singularity like the CAL machine replicates.
It’s calm her vision
Helps keep them 'stuck'
It stops them from interacting with the other reality(ies?)
Reminds me of Fringe
