I liked the clever way using the press to get that curve put in that bracket!
Thanks buddy, just a little bit of lateral thinking!
Del, I was going to suggest perhaps a 1in or 1-1/2 wide strip of thin rubber (old thin inner tube) inside the new bracket to eliminate vibration and a possible crack to the new reservoir.......Either way, fine job, looks good.
Well the factory doesn't do that Tom.. and ive never seen one crack, Ever. The nylon they're made from is very soft and durable mate.
Tidy job mate! Next time you fire up the welder weld the nut to the back of the bracket before paint 👍🏻
Possibly, if the back was hard to get to...but then i can't use a lock nut...and the screw can work loose !
@@Moonfleet41- no need weld… use a rivit nut if you know of it. I used it few places. Not bad tool.
Very neat Del 👍
@@Goldwing1500rider If you've ever noticed, Rivnuts sit proud of the surface, so the pot wouldn't have the support it has being currently held snug against it.!
Great neat job for a Friday watch, nice and simple, have a great weekend the pair of you
Thank you, have a great weekend too!
One of my next jobs on my gs500 build, thanks for the inspo!
Nice, simple, clean and trick to boot, great job Del!
Thanks mate 👍, always good to hear from you.
love it, nice way get rid of the old one
I love watching the creativity. Nice work Del.
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it!
You just love making stuff. Problem for the rest of us is that you’re really good at it 😂
Not by any means mate.. just a keen amatuer and enjoy the process.. Thank you for you kind words.
Nice one Del 👍
Great the way you design and then refine the brackets and such to do what they need to do 👍
The clocks bracket springs to mind as initially a little mistake but corrected with a better design with the cut-outs 👍
Keep up the great work Del 'n' Pen 👍
Thanks so much Paul, 👍 Glad you enjoyed it, and really appreciate youer kind feedback mate..
Mate well done, lots of suggestions already! Here’s another one, the little tag where the reservoir bolts trim it more so it’s hidden and not so intrusive.
It shouldn’t weaken the bracket.
Fabrication at it's best!
Great start into the weekend, mate. These little reservoirs look great. Much better than a tube. I had that on my race bike, and as you said it was always weeping. Although it was the expensive HRC kit, not the cheap Chinese. Another step for the mighty Busa. Günter/Nürnberg
Thank you Günter, glad you enjoyed it, and yeah, the clear tube is always a harder plastic than the usual rubber pipe, and therefore it's hard to get it to seal properly.. Have a great weekend and stay safe.. D&Pxx
Nice I could have done with one of these brackets for my last bike.
I was half expecting you to use your English wheel. But the press is just as capable!
Nice one, my friend 😊
Thanks mate.. simple and effective method aye.. the press is a really versatile machine and i wouldn't be without it now.. take care and have a blessed Sunday.. D&Pxx
Cracking idea! might do similar to this on my Honda Blackbird as it’s tucked away in the tail fairing panel and a pain to get to it to bleed the rear brake 👍
Go for it mate, nothing like making a bike your own.
That looks good pal,
Cheers mate!
Hi Del & Penny hope all is well over your side . Excellent job mate, very smart. Hope your weather is starting to get better, still getting 30C here, but we did get 10minutes of rain this week. Have a great relaxing weekend, take care. Cheers
Well i reckon it must be on the turn now, we had 20c here today. dry too.. so who knows, perhaps spring it springing at last !! Enjoy your weekend too mate. and stay safe aye !
Sleek and elegant little bracket I'd say! Smashing videography as always, Bottle Caps of Valour all 'round to the team!
Thanks buddy, glad you approve!
Love the curve and the method of making it! Nice fabrication trick. 👍✌️❤️
Thanks so much buddy 😊, glad you approve... Enjoy your weekend and keep safe aye !
Awesome video brother !!! Really enjoy this fabrication process, I am learning a lot from you brother ! Great job , well done with the bracket !!!! Bike is looking great ! Stay safe guys cheers from New York 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you Brother, I appreciate that and really glad you enjoyed it.. Enjoy your weekend and stay safe over there.. D&Pxx
Great job Del! You make it look far too easy.......😀
Thanks mate 👍, have a great weekend!
nicely done!
Nice work Del. Stealthy and protection.
Absolutely, simple and effective aye.
Sweet
Another nice bit of racketeering. Have a great weekend both of you.
Thank you, enjoy your weekend too, D&Px
Nice job. Would it have been possible to mount it a bit further down so you don't have to remove the reservoir to top it up?
Never mind just removing the cap, It would need to be significantly lower to get a bottle hovering over it to pour fluid... it's one screw and lift it out slightly, takes a few seconds, once every two years..! 😂
Such a nice bracket for such a cheap reservoir!
That bracket is as slick as a pair of geriatric knickers at a Tom Jones concert! Enjoy the weekend, D&P :) Edit: Love the little Evel Knievel watchin' over things :)
Yeah that was a cool gift for sure! We both wish you are great weekend, ride safe!
Nice look….. Can you fully unscrew the lid?
Yes mate !
Where there's a will there's a way..looks good.
Really like this bracket, Del... job well done! Much better than factory, in several ways. Huge thumbs up. 👍
Thanks Don 👍, glad you enjoyed it mate, have a great weekend!
My brother keep it up,clean, nice work, inspired,,❤
Thank you 🙌
You sure you never starred in a Blue Peter Del? Lol. Nice job mate.
Ha ha... there has to be some influence there aye..lol!
Can you get the lid off the reservoir?
Yes of course !!
Merci 👌👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Very neat Del 👍
Thanks 👍
Nice bit of fabrication Del ! Really neat brake reservoir bracket ! Have a great weekend mate and hope the weather stays good 👍
Thanks Paul, glad you enjoyed it mate, have a great weekend too!
Cardboard Aided Design {CAD) for the win! 🏆💪 Form following function🏆💪
Very impressive what you can do with the tools you´ve got! Love your channel! I already learned a lot from you. Keep up this wonderful work you show us every time. Greetings from Germany!
Thank you very much, a really appreciate your kind feedback.
Neat little job. Maybe a rivnut insert might be pretty trick so you don’t need a bolt on the back side? Just a thought :). Have a great weekend
Thanks for the tip, have a great weekend too and stay safe. !
Just hope you don't have to fill it too often. Like your fans said… a pretty clever way to make round bends. I might try that someday. Nice!
Should only need to change brake fluid once every two years, so a single screw to remove shouldn't be too taxing lol Thanks for your kind words.
That's true. 😊
Nice job, I like watching how your mind works for these fabrication jobs.
Thank you very much!
Neat😍
That spring loaded centre punch ? Don’t suppose you have a link or a brand name ? I’ve searched high and low on the internet for one but no results
Brand name is "Spring Tools" and as these were a very kind gift from a viewer, i don't have a link to give you.. but they are readily avaialble i think..
Awesome 👏
Hiya Penny and Del - great video! Very nice piece of fab work there. Educational entertaining as always! Take care, dear friends. Be well, ride safe and have a great weekend!
Thank you kindly Sir, the sun is starting to shine here at last so a ride out for a cuppa for sure this weekend, hoping you have something nice planned too! D&Px
a1plus again both
Thanks Allan.
I never even saw Rick Petko form metal like you do with a press. Almost looks like a magic trick getting the perfect curve to fit the reservoir. Well done sir ! Wishing you and Penny a great weekend. ❤👍👍
Thank you so much sir... Rick Petko is a legend and a total inspiration, truly one of my heroes, i would be grateful for just a scrap of his tallent.. what a shame that shows like that are no longer around.. Thank you for your awesome support as awlays, take care and have a wonderful weekend..
