what i like about Foose is that he deserves all the good he gets in his life, he is awesome person and you can see that from the way he talks/feels/ and works with his employes !
What I love about the new era SEMA and Ridler cars the past few years is the use of subtle colors. Foose's car is two tone oatmeal and gray/brown. The Losi car is a cranberry color that is classy in it subtleties. The 32 Roadster has a beautiful "mauve" single tone paint that touches you in the quality of its work. The same for the Rambler wagon. It carries the same oatmeal "mauve" color with a burgundy wine roof.
The engines aren't a mass of chrome parts like engines used to be. Now, they are beefy and muscular with powder coated brackets and molded tunnels encompassing the air inlet, valve covers and EFI intake, all painted to match the cars paint scheme. Others have spectacular machined parts glorifying man and what can be accomplished by the individual.
I am an art lover. And what I see here touches me in the same way as the classics. Its the vision of one man and whether it's with a brush on canvas or the shaping of metal, I can see how they took nothing and built what are truly works of art.

Chip Foose is the best a fantastic draughtsman , and a creative body sculpture of any kind of Vehicle his designs and attention to detail are outstanding !
Sweet, but I still like the local car shows were kids built their own cars and they were not perfect but a lot of blood sweat and tears went into modifying them .

Chip Foose is an ARTISTE! Amazing work....doesn't hog all the glory for himself....Very humble and kind man. His car deserved the win IMHO!

I have some Chip Foose Diecasts that I found at an autorama show from years ago in Alberta Canada they are still in the original packing. & are displayed in my entertainment cabinet .

Beautiful cars, for sure, but I'd like to see one of these cars 5 years and 40 Kmi down the road. Have to wonder how all that glued together tuck and roll would hold up.

Absolutely Sick. Although, I really, really like the Rambler Wagon.
CF always outplays his competitors by what he does best - the vision of the overall design. The Everything. Sure, Details are there, engine capacity and chrome are there but those are not the essence of CF focus. A CF car keeps you looking and looking at the shape of the car and how it relates to the shape of the air around it.
They were all awesome and not to take away from Foose.....but that STUDE was my personal fave!!!!
Is it just me or do people find it odd all the acolades are going to the owners of the car and not the builder? Give chip his own damn jacket and trophy, he deserves it.
one look and that Impala is the WINNER, 60's design, Millenium technology, can't beat that.
Chip sure has a distinct style of design. I don't know what it is but you can just "Tell" it's a "Foose Custom" without even being told.....There's just something about the Cars he Designs and builds that kind of have his "Signature" on them....

My 65 Impala never looked like that car, it's a Foose creation, like to see him do an original without the constraints of any existing body style.

It's too bad it takes a big checkbook and no cuts on your hands to make these cars anymore. The days of winning an award like that are gone for a one man show. I worked at Vavre Auto body and took a Riddler Award for a truck build a few years ago.

I get the prestige of winning the Ridler, but come on, a Ten Thousand Dollar check!? What is this 1915 or 2015? The winner should get $100,000 and everybody knows it. It does not scratch how much the builds usually cost but it helps, and while it is not about money and the Good Lord knows the contestants don't need the cash, but considering how much money is generated by that one car, it at least seems fair. And if the winners want, they can donate it to something that may eventually or has touched their lives. imjusayin
