My Mom just passed, July 7, with oral squamous cell cancer. She was 93. She never smoked (or chewed). Her Dad was a smoker. She mentioned several times about a dentist doing injury to her bottom front teeth. At 93 she was not interested in having her chin resectioned, doing radiation which would require a feeding tube and/or chemo. Any of these traditional treatments would have destroyed her quality of life and would have cut her life short. We did follow an integrative medicine protocol. I wish we had known about it early on. I believe it kept my Mom pain free. The two procedures that I wish we could have tried are radio frequency ablation and red/infrared treatment. Again, we learned a little late in the game. She passed peacefully. Our real home is in Heaven. Don’t forget that.

6 time cancer/3 time flatline survivor here. I'm missing a few internal organs and have some cool scars - but for the Grace of God,
I'm still here. It *is* a war, nothing less and it will fundamentally change everything in your outlook.
We all get through it in different ways, of course - each of us wind up developing a way that works for us (maybe not for others).
My way was and is to simply out-will whatever is getting in my grille - I just get back up, every damn time, regardless.
Sounds simple enough, eh? It isn't.
You just keep getting back up, no matter what.
It's the hardest, most exhausting, most challenging thing in the world, especially when you've been so beat down physically to
simply function a lot of days - but if you're like me, you just plain get mad and get on with it.
There is no other option; at this point, quitting would be so much easier - but totally wastes all the previous efforts, too.
I tell you what at 61, I'm a 6'-1" 260lb male that they best nail down the coffin lid on when I do finally die - because I'll still be
in there, digging my way out of there and finding a way to get back up, one more time.
It's the only way to deal with the evil that is cancer, least it is to me.
    - Ed on the Ridge

My mother lost the fight with cancer in April of 2020. She was diagnosed on Christmas 2019 only because her bladder was giving her so much pain she thought she had appendicitis but it turned out to be bladder cancer. Part of the reason she lost were doctors and their scheduling. The first doctor who did a biopsy surgery before the end of 2019 waited too long to go in and get the rest of it out when it was small. It got aggressive and grew. to the point of he didn't want to go in and get it because he would essentially have to take out her bladder all together. We got a second opinion and by the time that appointment was scheduled, the new doctor had to agree but set up treatments and eventually chemo and later radiation therapy.
By this time she was having severe neck pain and we didn't know until about a week and a half before she died that it had spread to her neck and lungs. We thought she kinked her neck due to the position she could only sleep in. After her one and only radiation treatment she was back in the hospital unresponsive and spent a week their until they decided she was in need of hospice care because it has spread to her brain. She died the day after she was entered into the hospice.
Part of the reason cancer kills people is clearly the medical profession as we know it. There are so many people that are sick and need care to help get them better but when healthcare workers, especially specialized ones only work 9 to 5 Monday thru Friday even though people are still sick at night and on weekends and can only suffer during those times. I don't blame the doctors and their offices. They cannot work 24/7 just like nobody else can. But there needs to be some kind of change in the medical profession that allows people to go into specialties without having to due two years in a ER for practice. If medical schools weren't so damn expensive a lot more people would try to get into the profession.
Cancer is one of the leading causes of death IN THE WORLD and there should be more people working that problem than people dying from it.

Lost mine in 2018 lung then spread to brain. We need to get back to nature. Our food has 50% less nutrients in them than they did 50 years ago. Add to that the chemicals they spray in the crops the GMO seeds (which lacks the nutrients our bodies need) the metals in our childhood vaccines (adjuvants) our government agencies that are supposed to protect us from poisonous materials actually promoting or ignoring the junk these companies put into our foods (we now have nano plastics in our food) our water has more chemicals in it than should be allowed. Our medicine has petroleum in them. Fluoride is toxic, nonstick skillets emits a toxin shampoos, conditioner and soaps have nano plastics that is absorbed through our skin. Even those plastic water bottles are a danger to us all. Atrazine in our water supply along with heavy metals and bleach when chlorine dioxide will clean our water supply with no other additives. Then there’s the geo engineering. The UAE made it rain so heavy in their area the
people were afraid it wouldn’t stop and that God was mad at them for something.

You really nailed it. I first noticed a lump on my parotid gland, and it was 2-3 weeks before I could get an appointment with Kaiser. Then its a week from the gp to the specialist. Then its another week to get biopsy results. Now its over a month since i first noticed the lump. But worst of all, they delayed surgery by three weeks because they wouldn't give me a PET scan sooner ( a necessity before surgery) because they were too cheap to pay for a PET scan outside of their network, so they get the money. Two full months from first notice to surgery, when it should have been two weeks, if the system worked. The whole system is so sloppy, virtually guaranteed to drag it out so the cancer can kill you. But Kaiser is the worst of them.

And if it's true that God himself hasa room in heaven w my name on it. Walls covered in jewels and gold and I won't be alone any more. I'm ready.its why I stopped excercising I smoke I drink idc bring it on. I'm ready .who wants to.live every day sick and I'n pain? In hospital when u are dieing .they starve u. They ignore u gasping for a drink.of water.tbey let u sit insht and piss for days ignoring u. Until.u die..sounds like fun. Phk.tat . I'm not goin out like that..I think self assisted suicide is a blessing. So maybe the cancer will be a blessing too I'm outta here. It's a hard life sick and by yourself plus sick and work . My oncologist, nephrologist, surgeon all tried forcing me into chemo for my breast cancer. I have kidney failure, liver disease, my stomach is paralyzed, I knew I wouldn’t survive it. Couldn’t believe they were forcing it so hard, especially for the type of breast cancer I had/have. My cancer has a 5 year survival rate without recurring of something like 96.5% with chemo. Without chemo? 95%. With all my risk factors, knowing that chemo is starting to be shunned in general and you only get 1 round before you become immune to it anyways, couldn’t believe how assumptive and pushy they were! Well, I don’t do anything I don’t want to do and I research everything. Hated my oncologist.
Now, they found a lesion on my spine. The catch is I had a severe injury in that same area in ‘14. I am refusing the biopsy. My surgery left me traumatized. They don’t treat pain anymore. I have a lot of anger. Lots of depression. Not letting them near me, especially after they refused to listen or take me seriously during the process. Have just decided if it’s cancer again, well, quality over quantity. My PET scan was clear other than the breast, btw, right before the surgery. I know that can change, but, with the injury and that clear scan, I’m holding onto that.
But, um, yeah, I still have to agree. Another big deciding factor in no chemo, and why never chemo for me personally, I have never seen anyone survive it. I’ve lost more than a dozen loved ones while on chemo. I don’t know a single success story personally. Watching someone die on chemo is horrendous, nightmarish. Wasn’t going to do that to my family by reacting out of fear.

Diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer 12 years ago. Surgery determined it to actually be Stage 2. Went through chemo sessions, radiation, mastectomy, then elective mastectomy of other breast, reconstructive surgery and tamoxifen for 5 years. Quite a journey, but praise God He got us through. Sadly, 2 years ago I lost my younger brother, at age 53, to colon cancer after a 5 year battle. I hate cancer!! Thank you, John and Alicia, for this video.

You are both so lucky to have each other and be able to work together. I was married to a control freak who thought he would make all the decisions for me when I had kidney cancer. The first oncologist told me it was a slow growing cancer so I had time to explore my options and then he sent me to another specialist who said it was an emergency and was not going to be an easy surgery. He sent me on to the university hospital where a group planned the surgery using the robot. Everything went well and they got it all. Once I got the all clear my husband of 21 years flew the coop. He wasn't going to watch someone else die of cancer and needed to "be happy". I was disabled with a spinal cord injury years before and this surgery made that injury much worse due to the positions they had to put me in to get to the cancer. My damaged spine obviously didn't do well with those positions. With my original injury and the cancer I allowed myself to have up to a 5 minute pity party per day where I could cry or hit a punching bag and then fight to change things. I was never going to walk again--I walk almost normal. I was going to lose some kidney function-I lost none. Doctors try to prepare you for the worst or at least the usual outcome, but they do not control that outcome. If you want to live you're going to have to fight for your life. You may not win the fight, but if you don't fight you're guaranteed to lose. God can and does heal, but he also calls us home for reasons we don't always understand.

I agree with everything you've said. And God bless you both in your continued fight. I'm not a doctor either, but I have long believed that traditional and current cancer treatments are medieval in their crudity and harshness on the body. Rather, the immune system is all-important, as you say. And yes, I also agree that cancer is always present in everyone, but that the immune system holds it in check. The medical regime needs to smarten up re: how it approaches cancer, in my humble opinion as a non-doctor. Again, God bless you both.

I am considering this to be divine intervention by y'all putting this video out. I have uterine cancer. I have had a very traumatic life. I went through a severe motorcycle wreck when I was 21 and spent 3 months in the hospital and got to meet Jesus. I suffered physical, sexual and mental abuse at the hands of 3 different men over a 15 year period. I have lost most of my love ones within a 3 year period. This past year has been a living hell. I started having symptoms last year around June. In July last year I found out that my ex husband who I was with for 20 yrs and that I loved and adored and prayed for more than myself and in the last 5 yrs of our marriage he basically casted me away and he was not being faithful. I found out last year that my ex husband was living and having a sexual relationship with my biological daughter his step daughter of 20 years. That took a toll on me and still is. My symptoms starting getting worse and I made an appointment to be looked at by my primary doctor March this year. At the time of my appointment my youngest son my baby boy who was 35 killed himself. The hole in my heart just got even bigger. I have been struggling with both of these issues and trying to wrap my head around it all. I put myself on the back burner. I then came down with flu and cat scratch fever back to back. Finally at the end of May I went to see my primary doctor and told her about my symptoms. She immediately set me up to be seen for a ultrasound. The ultrasound was not good. I then had to go have a uterine biopsy. I knew things were not good when then doctor himself left a message and his personal cell number to call. Of course he told me I had uterine cancer. I was then set up with oncologist to do surgery. My mom had uterine cancer at the age of 44 I am 55. They caught hers so early that the only thing taken was her uterus. I have been dealing with symptoms for over a year. I had radical hysterectomy 2 weeks ago. My doctor is testing me for lynch-syndrome because so many in my family on my mom's side have had cancer. I am going today for my post op appointment to find out if there was cancer found in my lymph node they removed and if I test positive for lynch-syndrome. Y'all I am trying to be positive but to honest it's hard when so many negative things have happened just in the past year alone. Please keep me in your prayers today as I go to see my cancer doctor today. I feel your video was a divine intervention for me...thank you for sharing what y'all have been going through. I pray for you to cancer free and completely well. Please also pray for me. I would be lying if I said I wasn't scared. God bless y'all so much in sharing your journey and how you have to keep positive and in control. Pray for me to be stronger than I am right now. Looking forward to your next video.

I’m unsure if you have that personal relationship with The Lord and Savior but apparently you are like me sis and my heart hurts when I see another hurting from all the things you are dealing with! REMEMBER in your earthly body no matter what Give God all the praise! It’s my belief that either God is needing to teach you something, or there’s someone that needs to see you deal with the punches so they can learn! Or I have to say it.. the devil also tries everything he can to throw us a gut punch! So, our heartaches, physical and emotional pain are either a God Lesson or the devil is trying to kill, steal, or destroy so rebuke him in Jesus’s name and by His Blood and caste him back to hell! Sending hugs and love your way! Keep the Faith! God is greater than the devil so resist the devil and he will flee! ❤️😇

Alicia, the good thing about cancer is you are never alone.
Heavenly Father knows us all by our names and hears and answers our prayers. The fact that you have a relationship with Heavenly Father says a lot. If you lose this battle you go to Heavenly Father and peace be with you . If you are allowed to stay you can help others get to Heavenly Father. Our family that has gone before us will meet us at the gate , and so it goes until we are all back home. Yall are in my prayers. Yes , I lost my dad to cancer back in 1993. Every day they learn better ways to treat it and I'm praying you beat it my friend. Stay strong for her John. Georgia girl (70 me ) was going thru this scare when my babies were in elementary school. I was told they had every kind of doctor in line waiting to do their part on me but, when they opened me up it was gone !! The night before I had surgery my husband took me to church and had me anointed and prayed over by the Priesthood breathern . I could feel the Holy Spirit come into the room and cover me the entire time the Priesthood was asking for a healing and a blessing on me. I felt at peace once they were finished . Right before surgery my doctor came into my room , he look worried. I told him not to worry he would be fine and so would I. He looked at me really strange like he thought I had been smoking happy juice. I told him about being anointed and having a blessing thru the Priesthood. He was Indian ( buda maybe ) and did not understand. Two days later when I was awake and he came into the room , he stopped dead center the room and asked me if I remembered the conversation we had. I said yes and with tears in his eyes he said , I believe you because he had test in his office where I was eat up with cancer , so much so he had five other surgeons on stand by to take out other organs to try and save my life. Only, when they got inside it was all gone!!
That is the blessing/miracle Heavenly Father bestowed upon me in my dark hour. I hope you get your blessing/miracle also.
My Priesthood ordinances where performed by Priesthood brothers from "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints". May Heavenly Father bless you both. Georgia sister here.❤❤❤❤❤💕💕💕💕💕💕 Love you both John.

I told them; no, you'll see me every 6 months. I dont trust cancer to stay low and non aggressive. I don't have fear but I do have a lack of stupidity. God bless you guys and our prayers for you.

You seem like a real person with real values and seem to be a great person. That's great because when you meet celebrities in real life, more often than not, you are disappointed. I don't think I would be disappointed at all and your wife seems like a great person as well. That said, I can't say I can relate to what you are going through because no one can. Unrelated to cancer but I wanted to affirm something you said. I met John, Tom Catherine and the other cast members who were still around in 2008 at dukesfest. All were so friendly and down to earth. Considerate of each fan. They were all wonderful. But John was the most shining example of a neighbor. You'd think he just got off a 4020 or just put a motor in the general lee. He's the real deal. That can't be faked. My favorite experience was still with Catherine Bachman. I got a pair of daisy dukes from my girlfriend and was gonna be cool and have her sign them on the butt. After waiting in line for hours, it was finally my turn and I got stagefright and all red-faced. Then she said where do you want me to sign them? I was like ahw just anywhere. She knew what I wanted and signed her name and aka daisy with XOXO and hearts. I was so happy that I got it but even happier that she was so sweet. Ps Ben is cool too. Go to cooters.

I think that is why it's important to keep the immune system as strong as possible, since immune system weakens with age, and the lower the immune system goes, the more opportunity for cancer to grow and get out of control.. There are many videos on youtube about how to boost the immune system naturally.

So, I decided since it's my body I'll be my own boss and take it from there. Long story short I found the best breast surgeon and the best plastic surgeon who helped me. I went for the double mastectomy and reconstruction because I didn't want it to come back.

Every two years or so a new cancer pops up in another part of her body, and she buckles down and overcomes the new incursion through Christ. 15 years of overcoming and writing beautiful music. Her journey as yours is inspiring. Keep up the good fight. This toxic attack on the beautiful creation of God has already been won for us before we came into being.
