  • This video shows my process for digitally sculpting a bas relief from scratch in Blender 4.0. This relief sculpt was done on the inside of a Rhino head ring (made in a separate video). PureRef software was used to display the rhino reference image while sculpting. I used the default sculpting tools that come with blender (Move, Clay, ClayStrips, Smooth, and Crease).

Cool - bas-relief is more difficult for me than just 3d - as it's hard to control all the heights and understand how to show a particular volume and shape. I make jewelry too - but on an ipad. Actually, not only on the iPad, I've worked on Rhino and Zbrush for many years. But I decided to make a channel about modeling jewelry on iPad.

It's been a hectic few months, but thankfully things are starting to balance out again. I have several videos already in the works right now and I'm excited to start working on some really cool project ideas 😃

Hello, I saw your video on the diy vacuum casting machine and im wondering if you think it would work for steel or if the air will get too hot for the pump

Hi awesome work! How did you get the brush to stamp !? Thanks

Thank you! That was done with a custom alpha brush. It's a lot to cover in a message but basically, you can use an image to create a mask-like stamp of that image on your model and depending on your brush settings, you can change how the alpha texture effects your model.
I'll have to make a future video on the subject to help 😁

I want to learn how to sculpt in blender. Do you know of a good course or can you give me some hints?

I can't personally speak to any specific courses but I hope to do more videos on sculpting in Blender in the near future to help others with learning!
For now, If you are a beginner and just getting started, just focus on getting familiar with some of the basic brushes and how they work for now. Try sculpting something simple at first just to start learning the process and above all have fun! The more enjoyable the experience, the more likely you are going to spend lots of time practicing. 😁
