It's always good to have a faithfull companion,...my dog when I was a kid, looked a lot like yours. Australian Shepard, and Border Collie. That dog, absolutely had to go everywhere that I went. On a dirt bike, everywhere that I went. He got strong, and he found short cuts to keep up. We might stop for a break up on top of the hill,...pretty soon the Ole dog would show up panting hard, and soaking wet. He found a spring on his short cut,...good dog. We tried to lock him in the shop once because we were afraid that we were running him to death, but he nearly ate the door off trying to get out. So from then on, he went everywhere. Love your channel, and your curiosity, keep it up.
I'm disabled and you are taking me to a place I never thought was around and in a place I simply can't go see for myself anymore. Thanks for taking the time to show us this cool stuff! 🤩👍👍👍👍👍
This looks like the place where they also found giant ground sloth, mammoth, horse fossils, as well as those of shark teeth and whale bones. They also found camel bones in neighboring Arizona, in Mesa while digging a hole for a tree to plant for Walmart!
You, the Trek Planner and the Desert Drifter should be given a degree in some science. You are self taught, but super intelligent and bring so much to the table.
All a degree means is you paid for an education and remembered what someone else was teaching. THIS, is current exploration and learning without the overhead and no say. We are learning about what's been lied about/skipped over, hidden, buried.
That is an amazing location. All of the rock formations are fascinating and the fossilized coral and crinoids are super cool. I loved the fossil you picked up that had the beautiful shells. Thanks for taking us along; I really enjoyed this video.
What an amazing place you took my mother and I tonight. Our planet has shifted and changed so much through the ages. I truly appreciate your videos while I am caring for my 90 year old mother. Safe travels always. We look forward to your next video!
Fascinating place. Love your videos. I enjoyed the brief biogeology lesson, too. I’m an amateur paleontologist, and found this site very intriguing. As an aside, I only collect from authorized sites, leaving nature to be enjoyed by all who follow.
Far southern California sandstone deposits from an ancient prehistoric Pacific Ocean so there are marine fossils here exposed by erosional activity over millions of years. Some really great marine fossil finds there Nolan with some great drone footage!
i am attending a university in denver for a bachelors in applied geology, and i am absolutely in love with your channel because you travel through environments that i am so so fascinated with. i HAVE to get out to that rock some day and get a closer look at all of those fossils, thank you so much for making this video
USA landscape is amazing. Your recordings shows a landscape that is so different from the landscapes that I've grown up with(North of Norway). The closest thing we -might- have to a desert is the Varangerhalvøya. Where there are traces of humans dating back several thousand years, 11000-12000 years being the oldest trace(sami people). Very fascinating to learn about the fossils several km from the sea. I'm glad us humans doesn't know everything about all that we see/discover(pyramids, petra, wonders of the world etc) I sincerely think that's the only thing that will save the human race in the end. Glad to see your true friend again. How do you spell his name?
This would have been underwater up to 100 million years ago. The beachline would have been to the East about where Arizona meets California today. The beachline moved back and forth until 35 million years ago.The land rose up after that time all the way to San Diego permanently with sandstone erosion taking place here. There may not be any land based dinosaur fossils here as they went extinct 67 million years ago but it is possible to find many marine fossils in the rock although this area was clearly not conducive to prehistoric reptile fossil retention. They did find some hadrosaur fossilized remains near San Diego but consider that find very rare.
That was a sea 200 yrs ago. California was an island it’s on maps just over 200 years ago. There was a large lake collapse in Utah that cause a large mud flood. Please research it. Great video
This is one of the most amazing places you've shown! Wow, just wow! To see all those fossils in situ! PS My boy, Boux says to tell your dog "Hi"! (I dare not try to spell it! I know I'll get it wrong, lol!)
Another amazing post! The Denver area, like Red Rocks Amphitheater, is also part of an ancient inland sea. Pretty neat. Thank you for again taking all of us to this amazing place! Most of us will never in a life time have the resources or health to venture to. Stellar drone footage again in this post! Best from Colorado!
06:54 Офигеть, какие удивительные штуки ты нашёл! You've found amazing creatures! Люблю твой канал. Надеюсь ты путешествуешь не один, чтобы не повторить фильм 128 часов.
With the possibility that the pictographs were representations of large-scale plasma discharge seen in the sky by ancient people, I'd be curious to know which cardinal direction they would have been facing when they drew the pictographs (presumably hiding from the discharge under the rocks). Would you be willing to include some of this information next time you find some? Thanks for all your wonderful content and adventuring, I love the curiosity that you exhude and I hope you continue to be curious for the rest of your life! Same to your pup! Safe travels!
The geology here is very interesting. You can see how the lighter strata survived erosion and once it was exposed fell in to its current position… at least that’s my theory. Much for the strata around this area seems to be tilted / folded and generally disorganised by the major faulting in the locality. Love the shallow seas geology/biology …. spent a summer in Kentucky digging trilobites and crinoids out of a relatives back garden..
Glad that you mention the brachiopods. Had you not, I would have. A comment about the lack of geologist discussion is based in part because pov does not give us the location. There would be mapping and papers already describing the area. No need for discussion. No need to re-invent the wheel. But of course, we are not told where this is. Speculation makes for more viewer engagement and more cash.
Almost looks like you're here in southeastern Cali (Imperial County, Sonoran Desert). The ocotillos, the sea shells all over the desert floor. Either way, another cool video. Be cool brother.
Love watching you hiking in those barron areas...Too blasted hot for me, so thanks for going there, for us ......BLESSINGS darling boy from Granny Linda in OZ
Dude I love your vids. Your camera and drone skills put us right with you. You seem a chill dude, but please get your faithful companion some leather dog boots.
I love your perspective, Nolan. I’m so glad you don’t include music and instead, capture the sounds of nature. The drone footage is breathtaking and priceless. It reminds me of the reoccurring dreams about effortlessly lifting off the ground and flying that I’ve had thousands of times over my lifetime. Your drone seems to be silent and able to capture the natural noises of the landscape, including things like your own footsteps and the panting of your dog, and other wildlife, such as birds and insects. I am also so grateful that you encourage people to be good stewards of the planet, and you demonstrate that with your own behavior. This cradle God made for us is breathtakingly beautiful, and He gave us this treasure to thrive and to enjoy, charging us to respect and care for the gifts. The purity of your style is impeccable and even if I were physically able, I cannot imagine mustering the intestinal fortitude to go to the places that you go alone. You are a modern-day Daniel Boone and Jebediah Smith. May the Lord bless you with many, healthy, happy, safe adventures.
Thank you so much for sharing this place, its history, and its significance with us. The sounds of the winds make this place seem almost sacred. This is amazing!
Surprising to me there’s not more professional geological discussion here. Certainly not every geologist can get to every site. I would think they would be excited about your work.
Dude this is so cool, Its amazing you showed us this because the fact that you can literally show us a seabed of so long ago is something I wouldn't have wanted to miss! Thanks
Thanks again. My adult daughter was visiting and while in the other room i heard her ask her mother "why does he keep saying WOW? To which her mother replied He's probably watching the POV channel"
I know enough geography, and there were enough hints, and I found the location. Took me a while. I think there was some mild misdirection that I appreciate. Perfect level of clues. Great puzzle. Thank you sir!
Somehow the text got lost in post production and it’s bugging me- the smaller Reese’s cup shaped fossils (3:45 and 12:45) are Brachiopods 🐚 💫

What a great video! I really like your channel. 👍🌍🩵
Really cool!
Yep, that was one of your better videos or should I say locations that you've filmed. Keep up the good work my friend.
Check the area closely. I found an area like this in West Texas , an ancient coral reef, and found hundreds of shark teeth.
Cool! Imagine finding megalodon ones!
I love the intros to this:
-sees thing in the middle of nowhere
-gets curious about it
-cuts to him being there
I love the simplicity. It’s beautiful
It is literally a petrified prehistoric ecosystem.
with camel bones
At first sight, the formation has the appearance of a fossilized superyacht.
I dont see it
Nvm, from google earth it doesn't but in pov it does look like a super yacht flipped on its side
I kept thinking that it looks like a large Cruise ship, with every shot of it! 👍 Ironic since it would be on the bottom of an ocean, right?🤔
I'm disabled and you are taking me to a place I never thought was around and in a place I simply can't go see for myself anymore.

They are altogether the best Southwestern America explorers found on YT!
Truth seekers!
They are the best I agree and POV is my favorite

Kind of looks like an abandoned set from a science fiction movie. Pretty cool! Also interesting how there is sand in the holes.

Offer the dog water whenever you take water.
The wind sounds like ocean waves ❤
That's because it is ocean waves. Drones are loud so he only uses the video and then adds a different audio track in post.
Good stuff. Pretty incredible area. Good to see Tui back on the trail. Thanks, Nolan.

Wow that was amazing! Those shells have sat there for So long!
Western NM from Bernardo to just south of Gallup is inundated with fossils I miss exploring the area.
Never thought such untouched places exist in our time. Unbelievable landscape.
Looks like one of these fictional "living" alien spaceships crashed there.
It’s very similar to the one in No Man’s Sky.
That place reminds me of Death Valley. I lived there for 7 months. I had fun exploring.
Your journeys never cease to amaze, thank you. 🙏🏻
Very cool to find fossils eroding out of such a large formation!
Every video is just as fascinating. I love it here
This is so damn cool. What a find!

Those look like crinoid fossils, they were more bottom dwelling and not so much for reef areas that tend to be shallower. Cool find.
