This guy went to the school of arts and took all the classes
I can see why...
They do not teach any of this in art school lol
And also at the neighbouring engineering college
that poor poor man.
Marx Galactic Ambition funny thing about that... no.. you are supposed to teach yourself and they give you the space to do it in
I love how instead of just getting a screen printed copy of a painting you made your own.
I believe that painting may be his home turf
Dad: I want him to be a carpenter!
Mom: Well, I want him to be a painter!
Uri: *sighs before grabbing a paint brush and a sheet of plywood*
CARPAINTER
JiaLoves_ BLUE AVE?
And edits video by himself
I think it would be awesome if you collabed with someone who could make it work with a hidden camera in the canvas and mechanize it to automatically follow people who walk by
Dad: I don't want him to be a disappointment
Mum: I don't want him to be a disappointment
Me: *laughs before grabbing xbox controller*
A Renaissance man mistakenly stuck in the 21st century with all of us devolved creatures. A temporal anomaly.
Speak for yourself, plebian.
@@jonanderson5137 _-R/ImVerySmart-_
Speak for yourself, please.
I was thinking the same. Awesome. Just seeing him painting. And then making his own gears!
woah, that defines him so accurately.
Convinced that there's nothing that this man isn't good at.
Renner Hogan making music? I dunno
Giving succ?
@@Thatsmahnut how do you know? 🤔
Renner Hogan with the amount of stuff he does, I’d go with “sleeping”
He isn't good at not being good
This gentleman is so underrated...
Won't be for long at this rate!
This is what UA-cam was made for. Talented hidden gems like yourself are able to share your gifts with the masses. Uri, you're one of a kind and thank you for giving us a glmpse inside your mind. Awesome work:-)
Ye but he still managed to paint himself with a booger @1:30 lol
Oh my gosh, you can paint, make your own pizza, carve, etch, invent and much more. You are amazing, what a lovely clever man you are. 😍
Where did you see him make a pizza?
@@TrollingCat hand powered circular saw. he decided it would be better suited as a pizza cutter, so he made a pizza to demonstrate
Our time's Leonardo 😉
Making pizza isn't that hard, the rest of it impresses me though
HA 300th like
This guy is letterally da'vinci
21st century DaVinci
Letterally. How did spell check not catch that.
I agree...
@@everafterinkable don't worry about it. he doesn't even know how to properly use the word
Orion Skye PEDANT ALERT
It's criminal you don't have more views on this stuff. It's amazing!
9:30 - 12:00 OMG that framing and finishing procedure was just pure black magic :) Thanks for the great video!
Be patient. In the tradition of famous artists, think how famous he will be when he passes!
Because its USELESS....
I'mTheFlyWhiteGuy
no, you’re useless
@@_asha Sick reply dude.
You're like crazy
Ok seriously, you need to stop! You’re making everyone else in the entire world feel completely inadequate. How talented ARE you???
Gorgeous work, thank you for sharing.
You put the renaissance in renaissance man. I love your whole style
You've got no quit in you. You can't stop with a great painting; you have to add moving eyes. You can't stop with crazy hand-filed metal fabrication of a gear-driven eyeball mechanism; you have to build a frame with seriously professional joinery. Then the hidden key storage. THEN the frickin' marquetry. AGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!
You have every right to be very proud of that Uri! Every step was mesmerising to watch and showed off incredible skill. Well done Sir! Well done indeed :)
You're an artist, a good cook, an inventor, a sculptor, engraver, mechanic, & engineer! 😨💕 You got mad skills!
a diamond in the rough of youtube
Wow, that looks amazing. Your skill as an artist really works in well alongside your skills as a craftsman in a piece like this, the finished piece came out looking wonderful 😀👍
ᗰіɢʜѕᴛ ᗩʟʟ ᑕʀᴜᴄᴋіɴɢ ᖴіɢʜᴛʏ thank you! It's great fun to practice different types of craft in one project, however now, instead of just having to deal with sawdust and metal dust, there's dry paint too :|
and also he sings and probably plays instruments.
You might just be the latest incarnation of Leonardo Da Vinci.
That was exactly what I thought
Loved the cat cameo in the painting time lapse. I love to have my dog hanging out while I draw. She’s a very supportive studio partner
Just brilliant, I love the hidden compartment for the mechanism key.
You’re like the modern day UA-cam Leonardo davinci
Oh my god... you made your own cogs! That’s totally awesome! I must admire you for that
Uri you are one talented individual, I love your work and this channel
Making goddamn gears by hand wtf dude that's dedication
Only to have the gears be totally unnecessary in the end.
You think making machines is impressive? This man HAND CARVES GEARS WITH SERIOUS PRECISION.
Uri. You did a very nice job. I’m not surprised you can paint since your other work has the feel of an artist that also is a craftsman. The thickness of the plywood came through a little in the eyes. If you could file the holes to a knifes edge at the front near the paint then there would be less interference between the main painting and the painted eyes. Great work though. Being a craftsman myself I always look for constructive criticism to help hone my skills. I hope you take this in the same light and don’t think I’m picking on your excellent work. :-)
Yes, that was the first thing I noticed !
Much respect for handcutting the gears instead of buying some. Nice work
everything about this is just incredible! i love how literally everything, right down to the mechanisms and the little gears, is made from scratch. you have such an amazing talent!
Me: "Nice! A cool DIY I can make for Halloween!"
Fifteen minutes later: "Oh. Ummm, nevermind. I'll just go to the dollar store."
Great job man! There are tons of people on UA-cam who can paint, woodwork, metal work, engrave....you’re the first to combine all of that together to make something really beautiful and creative and fun. Excellent job!!
You're on a completely other level of talented! I love your automaton videos. It's so cool to see someone with such defined skill in our modern world.
I really admire that you're taking on these challenges (and exceeding success). You will have a great legacy!
Back in the days, geniuses were seen as crazy people, now they can free themselves as youtubers. This is the true era of creation. Thanks for sharing!
I’m speechless. I don’t even know what to say. This is EXTREME talent.
That piece alone is worth thousands.
I’m sure people would pay thousands for art like that.
Bravo! Your videos always leave me smiling and/or laughing with joy!
He painted the picture, then made the cog and all the components from scratch for the mechanism, then the frame and marketed, this guy is phenomenal 🤩 A maverick of creative genius! 🤓❤️👌
In 2018, who gets up and goes “I’m gonna make some gears and a frame by hand today.”? Amazing! Props to you man. The work here is impeccable!
You are utterly amazing Uri. Just discovered these videos and I'm transfixed. I love the off the wall designs and your ingenuity but impressed most of all by your matter of fact explanations about the designs as though it is an everyday thing to do. How can one person be so universally skilled?
Imagine this painting in an art gallery, someone passing through looking at the paintings and saw this while passing by. Especially at night!!
this man’s attention to detail is incredible ... a true artist. just look at the painting, the frame and the key!
Exactly.
I lost it when he started making the gears. Made me respect classic craftsmen a hundred times more.
Unbelievable. A consummate craftsman doubled by a consummate artist. Thank God such miraculous people still exist, and thank you Uri for showing yourself to us.
I don’t know why but I didn’t expect him to actually paint a portrait and carve gears for this project. Pleasantly surprised. :)
You are amazing, man! Didn't expect you would really paint, I'm impressed!
When one watch Scooby-Doo stuff too much that he cant resist but to bring one in real life!! All this painting lacks is that ""typical villanous laugh""...
Apart from that making portrait isn't everyone's cup of tea, that shading, light and shadow effect isn't even expert's play too but for one at Masters!! Not to forget this guy's craftsmanship!!
Hands down, pants down and hats off salute to him!!
you are truly underrated from woodworking, machining to art every skill perfected
That's wonderful. It has a very Terry Gilliam effect :)
A mechanic, a painter, a carpenter, a metal worker, my god you are amazing.
You make the painting process look like it is as easy as mowing the lawn when actually it is very difficult and takes a lot of talent.
I did not expect such an accomplished painting. Here i am thinking 'the light playing on the skin is almost worthy of Rembrandt' - then you stick a drill in there! Crazy Artists !
Your cat looks like a painting in the part of the video where you're painting your painting
Great talent, wide variety art of art skills! Thanks for the videos.
I am blown away by the detail and how everything was made/done BY HAND, especially the gears. Amazing work.
What a cat! Looks like it's in slow motion even in a time-lapse video.
This is epic, epic stuff.
Nice work.
Your put some very pretty paint on that piece of plywood, you should do more paintings
If I feel lazy I watch your enthusiasm and perseverance and I'm up and running again. Many thanks.
As a painter, tip of the hat to you for how well you blend acrylics. That's why I went to oils--I want to be able to come back days later, and say, "Nah, I want to change that". Great work!
Pure talent I wonder if there's anything you can't do lol
i wonder if you can connect that mechanism to a clock so the eyes would move at a certain time of the day
You could connect it to a camera with tracking and have it follow a person
@@RustyCraftKnife yes, I assumed that's what he was going to do.
Or maybe to connect to seconds of a clock, so every second the eyes will be moving from one side to the other. 👍
Just love everything you built, Thanks.
This is very brilliant. Unthinkable craftsmanship
Uri Tuchman: Don't have a canvas? Use a wooden board!
Me: Inspiring.
Lovely work! Only thing I could say is to paint the exposed plywood inside the eyelids, as to have a more seamless transition to the mechanism behind it.
What is this man a painter,🎨 blacksmith,🤺 jeweller,👑 carpenter🔨, inventor, he's a true craftsman👲
This guy came straight out of the medieval times but with modern knowledge
Can't believe I'm just now finding your channel, this is incredibly cool! I love the effect those deep set eyes give while looking from different angles, they truly do follow you around. The mechanical aspect just brings it to a-whole-nother level. The over all finish really gives it that old Victorian portrait look and is pretty convincing. You are a perfect example of an artisan: artist+craftsman= artisan ;) I've watched a few of your vids now and look forward to watching more. Keep up the creativity! Thanks for sharing =)
Uri: "I feel like painting today."
Busts out self portrait to rival the Dutch Masters.
One person with so much talent is amazing.
I am so happy to see that there are humans that are still capable of greatness!
I think you could have got a better effect by using a round eye and a spherical hole from the rear, eliminating the seem around the eyeball
Gymnopedie was a great music choice.
Uri is an absolute genius. A very rare person indeed.
Absolutely wonderful, Mr T! You, sir, are a creative genius!
I find it funny that this probably has the least views of all of your videos. Maybe calling it creepy got people less excited. All of your videos are awesome. Just doing the veneer was amazing by itself.
EPIC!! now motion sensor would be nice to have.
*I'love the way the cat is feeling cosy in the background.... very nice!*
I love this man, and his dedication to his work...a true artist.
I am just confused. The process video makes it seem the amateur work but end result is surprisingly professional quality.
Absolutely superb! Watching you work is very satisfying and your videos are so well edited. Beautiful end product. Can't wait for your next video.
Kris Peter Run thanks! All ready started working on the next one.
We realy look forward to that!
Your cat sleeping next to you while painting is the cutest thing
Seriously SERIOUSLY LOVE THIS MAN!!!!!!
I thought he meant he made a painting with his eyes
Like and eye tracker lmao
You sir are pretty darn talented. Your painting is very nice. Do you sell them?
Such a humble and unassuming guy with massive talent. You sir are a master....
New favorite video ever, thank you so much for sharing!
Power tools? I don't need no stinking power tools. LOL!
Who wasn't focused on the cat the whole time?
Absolutely amazing.
A Gifted man. What a talent.
I love how at the end you discovered that the mechanism is completely unnecessary, as it works without it lol
Nice work! Who is this man? Looks like an ancestor of you......😎
You really are one of the true best craftsman out there, and that's something.
this is the coolest project i've seen executed in a while. brilliant work
You look so shy at the end of the Video. Uri, please be proud of that nicely Dome work Like i am. It looks so amazing. We all love what you do. Especially me. I would Like to meet you. Heard you live in south of Berlin?
Serious question, do you work with hand tools because you can or because you have too?
Reason I was asking is that if it's because you have too I would be more than happy to contribute to a Patreon page.
Believe it or not working with hand is much more precise then with a machine cause the individual can think ahead
Evan Tsigonoff that argument doesn’t make much sense. A skilled craftsman can be incredibly accurate but the fact that he does it with hand tools, does not mean hand tools are more accurate onto themselves. A surface grinder might be able to flatten a steel plate to within a few microns of flat and parallel in a matter of minutes, show me a hand tool that could match that level of accuracy and speed?
@@shawnlund TBH I was actually thinking about what I just said
Russell Gerdes I would never argue that something built by hand couldn’t be as accurate or beautiful as something built by a machine. I think the simple fact that a human is the engine behind a creation can make it more special and beautiful. I would however argue that for speed and accuracy the robot is the winner hands down. There is a reason why some of the most important work a craftsman ever does is building their tools. Bare hands alone are shitty tools unless your working in clay.
You are a true craftsman. Great work.
Bloody brilliantly done!!!!
I am floored by your talent
A man of many talents you are! I salute you. 😊
So much talent!!!
Your truly a pleasure to watch working. Thank you. (Old guy from Arkansas)🇺🇸
