In grappling, Smith probably has the more legit blackbelt in BJJ and better wrestling technique. Izzy was able to manhandle him so Smith would probably be the better grappler overall.

Izzy is actually a very good defensive wrestler, and Pereira has evolved into a decent grappler with the help of Glover, but is also extremely physically strong which contributes to making him hard to take down.

Here’s the thing Pereira wants to beat the fuck out of Anthony because he talks too much shit. But Anthony doesn’t deserve to even be in the ring with Pereira in the UFC. So Pereira decided to fight him in grappling to not only embarrass Anthony Smith by beating him, but also remind him that he’ll never fight Alex in the octagon.

If Jan couldnt do anything to Alex on the ground... I'm highly skeptical Smith can. But I do hope this bet takes place, because we all know there's little to no chance they'll meet in the cage, Anthony would need to win at least another 3 fights in a row before he's considered for a title shot, which most likely wont happen. Anthony should be calling out Jan, if he gets that fight and wins, then he'd have a much better chance of getting a title shot sooner than later.
Edit: Just found out that Jan wont be able to fight until Nov/Dec, at the earliest. That sucks.

I agree bro, in a high stakes MMA fight at altitude Alex was able to stay composed and survive Jan, in a grappling match where there is no such pressure? I think he survives Smith without any trouble and we got to remember the man didn't lie once about his takes, He said Sean has the style to beat Izzy and it happened, said Jamahal was 4th best in skills out of all his other opponents and made it look like that in UFC 300, and has been saying he has ground game and working hard on improving it, maybe this is the opportunity where he shows it.
I remember when Smith was getting ready to fight Johnny Walker, he said that Walker is such a bad fighter that losing to him means he isn't good enough to compete in the UFC anymore. Then he lost by unanimous decision.... and now the fighter with 19 losses on his record is talking about one of the greatest champs ever. He should have retired after going 18-11 against Josh Neer back at VFC 41.

I'm talking about booking in a gym and the bet would be there because if you wait to fight me at an event it would probably be difficult to happen, I was out of action for a month because I broke both of my toes, so I only need a month for me recover some of my cardio.
