To be fair the blocking he is showing comes from instinctive reflexes. If you see children fighting or play fighting, you'll see them move their legs the same way. Why is that a good thing? Because it's natural, and instinctive, you can easily train yourself to do it. Many fighters have had their leg broken just because they tanked a kick rather than providing an active defense like that. Tanking a kick really only works against a vastly weaker opponent, but even in that case it would be better to use your momentum to take the wind out of their sails. Worst case scenario your opponent is going to hurt their feet because they can't be certain where or how it's going to land.

Even if he doesn’t use the techniques, and Steven is questionable often times, training in a different/ unique way (not overstraining the body) can be very beneficial for someone on Alex’s level. Training the brain differently and different body movements. That being said, Alex gaining even 1 ability for Steven that could help him makes the training well worth it. Also these fighters are very good at adjusting techniques that are flawed into things that work for them. At the highest level it’s a game of inches.

he is also a 7th-dan black belt in Aikido, and was the first foreigner to run a dojo in japan. Guess what that is not a friendly environment, especially 50 years ago. If you think that he could manage that and not actually be an aikido master that says alot about your intellect. @@cjdig86people are all repeating the same online BS... but Alex is actually listening to Seagal....
@@steveb6718 wait? You think Seagal is legit? Lol
@@gracejoy3737 how many UFC fighters have actually asked him for advice.... is he legit? yes.... has he massively overblown his status, probably... but I don't think Alex was trolling him here. You are just caught up in the standard internet responses..... but why have UFC fighters spoke to him as much as they ? laugh and giggles?
His bones don’t break anymore, hahahahahaha. What a gem of an upload this one was!
"I blind him, he doesnt like this, because he cant see" 😂
This had me in histerics
I haft to admit that tore me up too!! lol
😂
First 3 division champion. He will win ufc heavy weight belt. 💯
hahahahaha lol errr ok
Chama 🇧🇷
Nothing like a guy who’s never actually fought teaching a 2 division UFC champ fighting techniques
How dare you disrespect one of the greatest technicians of our time. Bow to your sensai!
"Now When I Say Who's The Mastaahh?! You Say... SEAGAL!"
Now who's the Mastaahh?! Lol
You watched every minute of his life, you know for sure he’s never fought? Not even once? Ifht
Did you just describe Bruce Lee?
Dude for real
I grew up watching Steven Segall smashing bad guys, good to see he's still doing it, respect.
18:51 that kick was PERFECTTTT. probably the only slight technique change he showed that actually looked useable. ALL those neck chops & etc are illegal in MMA as are the finger/joint manipulation techniques he showed him BUT that lil change on the front kick and those elbows in close were definitely useable 💯
Its a teap kick bro
@@anorginalname805 I know this as did Alex. He obviously showed him a difference way to use it. Not science.
With that teep kick technique from Seagal, I’d be surprised if your knee survives.
@@anorginalname805yes but hes throwin it like a jab now not a PUSH kick faster and it was hurting them THROUGH the pads as you can see them passing the pads like “ your turn “ 😂
How is finger manipulation illegal?
Even if he doesn’t use the techniques, and Steven is questionable often times, training in a different/ unique way (not overstraining the body) can be very beneficial for someone on Alex’s level. Training the brain differently and different body movements. That being said, Alex gaining even 1 ability for Steven that could help him makes the training well worth it. Also these fighters are very good at adjusting techniques that are flawed into things that work for them.
At the highest level it’s a game of inches.
The problem is what he’s teaching him would work much better in a sudden physical altercation. MMA not so much.
SENSACIONAL!
Now anytime Alex throws a kick Steven is gonna think that was all him
💯😂😂
I remember when Silva KO someone with a kick. He immediately said on TV "I though him that"😆😆😆 (Like it was Silva first kick ever)
and it will be.
I couldn't believe my ears when he said this lol 9:38
now that's a true champion, a man who has the belt and still training in other styles to become better. Nice job Alex and Steven
I'm 8 minutes in and I haven't stopped repeating the words, this is ridiculous, out loud. hilarious
look, it's better to look for a way, you probably have dementia

I couldn't stop laughing when he said he could makes Alex's punches way more harder and even deadly. Then he said does he have to be filming that 😂😂😂😂 he didn't want the absurdity to be seen by everyone 😂😂😂.
😅 thats actually pretty gangster
Not harder but snapier... Seagal has more of a snap punch than Alex...
You can absolutely condition your hands, it’s done in Muay Thai as well as Karate and Kung Fu
best way is to film yourself and then slow the footage down, analyse the footage to see how you can improve movement and use less wasted movement or improve technique. I do movement coaching like ido portal does I help some athletes improve their movement

STEVEN SEAGAL looks like a family guy character
He is on family guy
Learning from actor show how humble poatan is.
he is also a 7th-dan black belt in Aikido, and was the first foreigner to run a dojo in japan. Guess what that is not a friendly environment, especially 50 years ago. If you think that he could manage that and not actually be an aikido master that says alot about your intellect.
Des this mean Aikido is effective in the ring, of course not but it is a martial art and there will be techniques a good fighter can incorporate into their game.
Poatan was respectful because he understood that.
@Average1212 other then acting I never saw him fight ethier you, if you never have a real fight don't go to real fighter and try to teach them
The man the myth the legend Sensei Seagal 💯
I love how much respect fighters have for steven. They grew up watching him and even tho they all know what he teaches is bullshit, they still love spending time with him.
Its just More usefull in a real life scenario rather then in a ufc Cage with rules but its 100% no bullshit

A lot of people like to criticize Steven Segal. This man has years and years of martial arts training. He goes all over the world to learn many techniques from other martial arts masters. Always learning. He also teaches the arts. In order to teach the arts you have to learn how it's done. Steven Segal goes all over the world to learn how it's done.
He's definitely a master of bullshido
Laughing before I clicked on it.
First foreigner in Japan to operate a dojo in Japan.
"Yes his left hook is coming together we've been working on it and hes getting better in our training"
Wtf is the fight industry coming to 😂 next we gna see Alex appear in WWE

Saw the title and I was like "oh okay now"
@@DineshanPillay He can't do the moves better than Seagal. Segal is hitting way harder without trying and Alex was told by his partner that it isn't hard as Seagal's.
What a master, his techniques are exactly like the gun control moves that send you to heaven.
Thank you for training him Alex 🙏🏽
He's actually going to learn some moves, but I can not even imagine a world where Seagal is in any way next to Poatan's knowledge about elbows, checking kicks or hitting. But Seagal will for sure teach him some really nice moves on his art. He isn't a goof as people insists to keep saying. He a good aikido fighter. He studies a lot you know. Don't be disrespectfull with something that you actually doesn't know or understands. That was a great content! Keep up!
Actually they were lethal he told him to not only use one elbow use it 3 times and never in the same sequence. He also showed all them a better grip then muay thai where it hurts when you grab them by the neck.. his pressure point skills on point you mad but he made Alex kneel 3 times with just a hand move .. like he said my strikes is too kill which is true just like bruce.
Thats why he chose him to teach he saw something worthy in Alex and felt a connection or maybe he saw something Alex needed that Seagal could fix
He will customize it for himself and add to his arsenal just like his calf kick . He is an elite striker himself
I can’t tell if this comment and replies are serious or trolls. But now that I think of it seagulls did teach Anderson the front kick to get that highlight reel
🤔Are neck strikes legal?
