Today I was very shocked to be reviewing a Pat McGrath collection so soon after it's release! But was it worth the HYPE?

I am 38 and my skin is pretty "normal" with no dryness or particular oily areas. I do have early signs of aging like fine lines/texture, as well as some sun damage and REDNESS!
I don't use fake tan, but I get very tan naturally in the summer as I have an olive undertone so my face is often a LOT lighter than my body, because I keep my face very well protected to keep my melasma under control and signs of aging at bay!

I just love the clarity of color that you're getting from your new setup. It really makes a difference! I ordered Velvet Liaison, and I'll tell you why. I have two ancient matte palettes from Smashbox (Matte Exposure and Photo Matte) and I can't do almost any makeup look without one of them. The main reason is that they included two jumbo sizes of matte brow bone, or lid, colors that work with every other palette I have. Plus the darkest colors are great liners. They still perform like new, but they won't last forever. Liason should be similar, although I can see myself running out of a couple of shades quickly. And I wish she had made a lacquered 10 pan of mattes. We deserve that. She should have introduced refillable pans for this one too, IMO. I've started to hit pan on my other 6 pan palettes from Pat McGrath. It's time she upped her game. Lisa Eldridge has the flexibility and packaging covered. Thanks for such a thorough video.💚
I got the all matte palette and love it. I also got the Iconic Infatuation palette and am so happy I did. It’s like an everyday more wearable and manageable Devine Rose- I may like it better bc I’ll wear it more day to day! Highly recommend if that’s your sort of color story

It might be the studio lighting, but as soon as I saw your eye look at the start I immediately scrolled down to see what you had used (it wasn't mentioned). So I hoped you would do that final look and you did.
I usually revert to platinum shades and your platinum bronze looked so stunning to me. Not too much on the bronze side. Just perfect. It really does look stand-out to me.xx
I've been crying out for an all matte palette from PT. It's very "nice" but nothing heart stopping.
I would've loved to have seen a good mustard and khaki shades. I didn't really want (or need) repeats of similar shades that already exist in her other palettes. Something different would've been so lovely.
Needless to say, I'm passing on this palette and everything else in this launch.

I think she’s going to give that down the line. So far starting out w basic shades and working on making more colors and vibrant ones. I think we’ll get a bigger matte palette by PMG. I agree about the mustards and khaki colors. As well as pinks like as bright as possible without being a pigment eye stain Huda beauty neon obsession situation.

Thanks for this review, as I think I told you 🤔 1st time I skipped a PMG launch... And after your review I'm glad I did 😁 With so many launches and shipping/stock problems I think she lost me 😬 Not saying not gonna buy anything ever again, just saying that from the StarWars launch and all the problems and stress I had about it, my collection became incomplete and that's how it's gonna be from now on🤷🏼♀️ not gonna run to buy from her anymore... After 6 years I'm done.

Still people waiting on orders from Nov and December. Maybe she should sort them out at this stage, still waiting for shipping notification/tracking number for an order from 30th December. Not good enough. I'm not risking ordering anything else to be honest.
I didn’t get my November order at all. Luckily bought it on Karna so didn’t get charged. This order arrived without a fees days and I was shocked. One of the palettes was in the wrong sleeve which means it was not the one ordered. It might keep it anyway as not worth the hassle to return
@@jacquelinedoyle7533 Looks like I won't be getting mine either at this stage and to date, no response from customer service. Mine went out of my bank account, so will have to look at how to get a refund, tho with no response, not sure what to do!
Your probably right to keep your product! Worth a try to see if you get any response all the same 🤷
I see UA-cam getting theirs and I ordered mine when they launched. Still have yet to get a email I never even got a confirmation email but it says my order is fulfilled. I live 1.5 hours away from where they shit it in PA. I think this will be my last time ordering from her website. I went back and looked last time I got any confirmation email or tracking email from orders was in March and I’ve ordered since then. Her customer service sucks.

I love an all-matte look, and Velvet Liaison looks very nice. A bit basic in colour selection perhaps, but of good quality and totally practical. I can see using every shade in it. Thanks for the great demonstration, Charlotte!

Thank you for such a thorough review!! I got the liquid shadow in Luna rose and I felt very much the same way. It’s a fabulous liquid eyeshadow, wore all day, blended, wasn’t drying, played well with other shadows, and had enough dimension to be a one and done, but at the end of the day, it just did not provide me with the wow factor I was hoping for!! I guess I’m disappointed for Pat McGrath but if I got this from another brand, I might think it was phenomenal lol.

Good to know they wear well, that's always a concern for me with liquid eyeshadow.
I ordered the Luna rose in the liquid eyeshadow and it came in 5 days too! I really like it! I think maybe it has more shimmer and impact than the bronze or the champagne. Looking fab Charlotte and love the new setup! ❤

I was so surprised to receive mine so quickly too (also in the UK). I picked up the matte and warm palettes and a liquid shadow in luna rose. I know plenty think it's boring but for me I will get a lot of use from the palettes. The matte one is also perfect for pairing with some other Pat palettes that I often wish had 1 or 2 more mattes. I wish the liquid shadows were more sparkly, only because I could get a similar effect with a powder eye shadow so I don't feel like they're really necessary.
My order came within 5 days, too! Very excited to try them out.

You are sooooo lucky to have your order already, I bought mine the first day at the first minute and I received a mail yesterday saying they just shipped it I am not happy it’s going to arrive in 2 weeks
I just received the warm palette! I used it yesterday for the first time and applied the colors the way you did in todays video. They were very lovely! You have to be in the mood for extreme warm tones, as you’ve pointed out 😊. I haven’t tried the cream shadow yet. I wish that i chose the champagne shade however i selected the more rosy beige tone…. Hoping it will work out ok. I was also expecting the cream shadow to be more sparkly and dramatic in this video. Oh well, Pat McGrath came through with beautiful products for sure! Thank you so much. I was waiting for your review. I picked the platinum bronze but in the bottle it looks like a rusty shade so I havent opened it to swatch. I was expecting it to be much lighter too xx

Hmm. I thought the platinum bronze liquid liner looked very beautiful on you! I would have loved to see that rosy-gold shade sandwiched between the darker and lighter shades that you chose. I always love that gradient effect! Thank you for all your hard work, Charlotte, and I’m sad that you lost your videos 😒😭

I got all 3 palettes. I placed Velvet Liason together with my all-matte shadow collection that is always handy for me after trying it out, yesterday. I am wearing the Sublime Seduction, today. PMG gets me because of her color story. I love the looks I’ve gotten from this collection.
The creams do look lovely on you but the mat palette looked gorgeous, I to bought the same creams as you and yes I was very disappointed in the platinum bronze definitely do not look her swatches , but pleased with other one , think I need to get the mat palette I have been waiting in anticipation for your reviews on these . I received my Velvet Seduction palette in 5 days as well. It’s my first Pat McGrath palette (I’m not a fan of sparkle or glittery eyeshadows), so I jumped on this. I really love the palette and have used it everyday since I received it. I was, however, expecting a bit more quality in the packaging. It was a bit expensive to get a cardboard box.
My liaison palette just arrived today. So glad to hear it is worth the price.

Velvet Liaison is my first PM eyeshadow purchase ever, and I’m in love. Her palettes never interested me in the past because I’m just not a shiny or metallic eyeshadow kind of girl. Seemed like a waste of money, I jumped on this when you highlighted the fact it was coming out (thank you!). Curious if she will follow with more all matte palettes or at least ones with fewer shiny/metallic options. Thanks for the great review.

I skipped this collection, but happy to see you play with it. Only item I was curious about were the liquid shadows. Too bad they were a bit of a letdown.

Mine was due to arrive next Monday but arrived today. I ordered the matte one and the pink one. I debated on the liquid eyeshadows, thought I’d wait and see some reviews. Glad I waited as you’re second person I’ve watched and found them underwhelming. So sorry you’ve had a stressful couple of days xx
The all matte palette is everything I was hoping for, excellent formula with useful shades. I picked up the other which ended up being more rose-brown neutral also really good for everyday.
I found the liquid shadows kinda meh, very underwhelming. I was hoping for astral like glittery liquid shine, these are just run of the mill liquid shadows. They aren’t as shiny as I was hoping for.
Your lighting is SO nice! The color is WAY more accurate and less overly warm…looks great!
I don’t find the collection exciting at all but love to watch you!
The looks you did were lovely, I was hoping that you would do some comparisons with other brands, for example, Is the all mat pallet like CT desert haze?
I would love to see a comparison between this all matter, the biba, the Mario mattes and the Viseart neutral mattes.
I was thinking the same thing. I ADORE my Viseart mattes but never see anyone using them, I always wonder how they compare. Perhaps I should just stick with what I know works but the grass is always greener 😄
Some of the videos and my own experience if you tap and blend after letting dry for a couple minutes they get shimmery sparkly. Hope that helps Charlotte x

I am purchasing the all matte palette to go with my 2 Mothership palettes and 1 of her quads with her special shades. . I don’t have the Biba, or the Visiert mattes. Plus, this would be great for travel. I do like the Sublime Seduction, but I have ND Bronze, so I’m skipping that one. I’m also skipping the liquid eyeshadows. But, I am interested in the other palette, the lighter pinkish one from Pat McGrath. Looks to have great transition shades to go with my Divine Rose 1. I appreciate your review and demonstrations.
Yea VL is great. I got to use as a transition and base shades by a brand I love & can count on. Also I think Pat will come out w a bigger matte palette. She is seeing if we like this one and will formulate more matte colors that perform better like the bright Mattes in celestial holiday palette in2022(can’t remember all names)

I know you didn’t love the platinum bronze liquid shadow but I think it looks much nicer than I was expecting from the images - a smokier, sultrier more interesting colour. Suits you.
Great video ❤ would you do comparisons to palettes like biba and CT eyes to mesmorise? I just ordered biba 🤣🤣🤣🤣 so would you say I made the wrong purchase? Got it cheaper than usual and was so hyped but considering swapping? 🤯
Thank you for persevering! Great tutorial! I did expect that the liquid shadows would be somewhat like Lisa Eldridge's. But Lisa's do tend to fade, did these wear away on you?
Really, do LE liquid lurex fade? Even with eye primer?
Sorry to hear about your footage woes. This was a great review, would you consider doing a comparison of the cream / liquid eyeshadows you have in your collection?
I am very interested in the matte palette and can see getting quite a bit of use out of those shades for lid base or crease shades. However I will wait until it goes on sale as the cardboard packaging is not my favorite. The liquid shadows appear thicker and more textured than LE so I believe I will stick with Lisa 👸 Thank you for the thoughtful review🌷

Pat’s shipping has improved, but I agree with you on the liquid shadows, I was so disappointed, thought there may be a little more sparkle, or metallic shine, but found them just meh. I also feel like these six pan palettes for the price are also disappointing, the matte palette was the best formula. I guess I’m expecting some of the ‘special shades’ like in the quads from launches past. Color stories were more interesting, as well as textures and finishes. C’mon Pat, you can do better!

The one reminds me a lot of the six pan pallet that came out with mothership two (I think?) she had like this beautiful platinum, leaning taupe six pan palette that went with mothership one and then the more Bronze leaning one that went with mothership two, and those really should’ve been released cause they’re amazing.

I have an important question. Are the mattes in either palette the same as the Divine Droid palette? That almost cream texture 😋? If it is I'm purchasing the all matte palette if it's not already sold out.

I’ve bought champagne Luna rose and platinum bronze and twilight platinum works on all of them. I love 3 of them but annoyed feel mislead about platinum bronze when looking at her swatches it comes up much cooler has a grey taupe undertone not impressed or happy at all

I got one of the liquid shadows. I was so disappointed. It doesn’t even look similar to the swatches on her site at all. They’re very boring. Not worth that price tag.

Idk why the darker shade and light sold out inn the 7 liquid eyeshadow colors. I was like? Why? But it’s ok cause I don’t want them anyway lol
It’s just FOMO. It’s just FOMO…. The shadows do look easy to apply and stunning on the eye (hear snicker at inadvertent rhyme). The bronze liquid shadow looks grey depending on how you move. Beautiful on the eye. Truly testing the gravitational pull makeup has on me.
Nice vid! I'm passing on this whole collection..just underwhelmed by all of it tbh..nothing about this collection screams high end to me imo pat seems to be loosing her creative edge..
Pat's shipping is still crap, i ordered mothership X on December 23 and i'll receive next week that pallette, and that customer support if exist, is useless. 😖

As pretty as the looks you made are, I'm SO SO saddened to see Pat McGrath trade in most of her creativity, innovation and glitz in favor of everyday and wearable. We have more than enough brands and products that do exactly what this collection does, 1000 times over.
PMG is miles and miles and miles away from how the brand started, with MUA-driven exciting "lab" releases.
