At the courthouse check the toilet tanks, too. My uncle noticed the tank lid was crooked and he was curious (he was a plumber) so he looked inside and found an envelope with $1000 in it. We had a great 4th of July that year, he blew it all on fireworks.
I'm not at a courthouse very often but cool story.

Got a parking ticket in LA after parking near those ridiculous signs. Instead of paying the ticket, I kept continuing for a court date as many times as possible so it would cost them more in paperwork than the ticket itself. Got my moneys worth 😂

The sign is not confusing or ridiculous. You can park there 0800-1800. Outside of those times it's a no parking zone. On Monday the no parking time is extended for 2 hours (0800-1000) for street cleaning. If you have a District 10 parking permit you can park there with no restrictions.
The navy had me stationed in Long Beach on the battleship Missouri back in the 1980's. One day at home I heard someone at the front gate of our duplex and went to check it out. There stood animal control looking for a German Shepard on the loose. Then from around the corner comes my Basset Hound and animal control asked if he had a dog license. Told him no as just brought him back from Florida. I was issued a ticket that required a court appearance.
So comes the court date and I'm waiting for my case to be called. The bailiff tells the room when your name is called, stand in front of the judge in a line in order you are called. About 12 names were called with mine being the last. Standing there, the judge asked each one their name and what they are charged with, in order called. Murder, attempted murder, rape on down the line until he gets to me:
Me: " My dog did not have a dog licenses." The whole court room breaks out laughing and the one with serious charges looking down the line laughing at this hardened criminal.
Judge: " What?"
Me: " My dog did not have a license."
Judge: " You got a ticket for that?"
Me: " Yes"
Judge: " How come your dog did not have a license?"
Me: " I brought him from Florida and then my ship went to sea for a week."
Judge: " What ship you on and what is your job?"
Me: " I'm on the battleship Missouri as a 16 inch gunnersmate"
Judge: " Does your dog have a license now? "
Me: "Yes."
Judge: " I can't believe someone wasted my time giving you a ticket that required a court appearance. I'll deal with this right now, case dismissed. I'll have some words with animal control about this. Now get the he'll out of my court room."

I’m 74 YO and I had so much fun at my last job relating Fun Facts about my own past to the kids I worked with. (I worked for a major software company, so almost all of my co-workers were Gen Y or Millennials.) Going to the grocery store with a single $1 bill and a list, returning home with everything on the list AND change; filling my gas tank for $2.50 while my windshield was cleaned and my oil was checked; getting our first dial phone after using an operator-based party line for many years; and so on. The wide eyes and slack jaws were wonderful to see.

My father had piles of car parts. One day a neighbor pulls in and the truck engine is limping. My father pulls the head cover, looks, and goes over to one of the piles and comes back with a part that will keep the engine from destroying itself until a proper replacement parts can be obtained.

@BearBig70 , Not always. My father had a 1948 and 1950 Harley panheads, he took them apart and never put them back together and later sold them for $500 each. Crying yet? If not sit down for the next one. In 1962 my grandfather walked into a Ford dealer and bought a 1962 Ford Thunderbird off the showroom floor. Grandfather passed in 1966 and the "bird" went to dad, it never left the family. In the 1980's dad pulled it into the garage to rebuild the engine, pulled it out and tore it down. That car sat like that in the garage until dad died in 2016.
I would give both my nuts ( and yours LOL) to have that car restored and drivable in my garage. Where the "bird" is today I have no idea.

I met my wife and her dad at a steak place once. They drive over and I rode my motorcycle from work to meet them. Some lady ran from 2 or 3 lanes over and stood in a spot. She told me no when I went to park, so I did the exact same thing as the moped. Her dude pulled up and she said "This asshole took the spot!" pointing at me. I asked the guy "Is there a problem?" He looked at me, said "Nope" and then told his girl to get in the car.

Well I pulled in a handicapped stall just as I'm about a foot from being totally parked this 30 or 40 year old throws a cart In front of me causing me to slam the brakes to keep from hitting it a lady pulls up screaming & yelling her daughter was saveing this spot as she can't walk without a cart to hold onto so I explain to her well I can't walk at all & hafto use a wheel chair & transfer the whole 9 yards finally I decide ok avoid the fight as my Autistic daughter who helps me with this is now extremely upset so I pull out just letting her have it as her daughter saunters into the store with a cart only to realize it's the only handicapped parking spot you know 1 with a space to transfer to a wheel chair in the parking lot only handicapped parking spot then hafto park clear in the back of the parking lot can barely get from my car to a wheel chair to go get important medical stuff only to come out with a car 2 inches from my car makeing it impossible for me to get back In my car all while it was pouring rain & my arms felt like they were going to fall off serious pain! As teen agers & kid's useing electric carts killing the batery leaveing them in rain & snow or just plain breakung them! So yeah people are rude obnoxious narcissistic arse holes who don't give a 💩💩💩💩💩💩 about anyone but thierselves that's the world we live in these day's isn't it awesome? 2020 was probably the best year of my life. My baby was born. My husband was home for half the year and getting paid. I could see my parents whenever I wanted. Gas prices were exceptional. If we got bored of our house we took a drive and didn’t have to worry about traffic or gas. Best year ever.

My brother-in-law has a band and they play folk and bluegrass a while back about 5yrs ago when he first started getting gigs he did a show at this Open Mic at a coffee shop once. The girl before him her name was 'Pain Chains',And boy did it hurt. For about 10 minutes she just screamed and slammed chains on to metal pans. My son wasn't born yet and he didn't like it he was kicking and going nuts inside my wife's stomach..😂😂

The one-way aisles in the grocery stores was a flop. I ignored the hell out of the arrow signs, as did most other shoppers. Our local store gave up fairly quickly and removed them. I didn't go in and out the correct doors too. I used whichever was closest to my car.
