Recycling plastic.... I can personally attest to the fact this is true. The Fibers plant where I worked in Georgia would recycle waste polypropylene, nylon, and polyester. But the recycler demanded clean resin, no cross contamination. Plastic is not like metal, you cannot mix them or separate them. I suspect all/most of the "recycled" plastic is making those gigundus islands in the ocean.
Decades ago when biodegradables were becoming a thing, I read an article that said that either we go recyclable or biodegradable not both. That it would be too costly to separate the two. Recently observed manufactured items with plastic in the construction - the plastic gets sticky after some time. I wondered if it was happening because if was made with recycled plastic with biodegradables mixed in. After all, until recently, China was importing recycled plastic from the USA and pretty sure it wasn't sorted.
Interesting. When I lived in NYC, the only plastic allowed to be recycled had to be #2. Otherwise, you could be fined if they caught you. I think my parents were fined a couple times for putting the wrong type of plastic with the recycling.
I’ll never forget 29 cent hamburger Mondays and 39 cent cheeseburger Wednesdays at McDonald’s; ma came through the front door after work with a giant bag and yell, “it’s white trash night!!!” We’d all come off our rooms to horf down our dinner. Next morning’s breakfast was usually microwave cheeseburgers. Yum!!!😋
100 % correct about the recycling. My son literally watched the recycled bin get emptied into the regular trash truck instead of the recycled truck. It's all a scam to make you believe you are doing something for good lol.
We used to have that, but then I found out there is supposedly two compartments in the back of the truck for each. But they didn't explain how they have dark and light green bins, but usually no system at all for which is supposed to be which. Some are marked, some aren't. Im not even sure which of our three bins is supposed to be recycling and trash. So how the hell are the drivers supposed to know which is which are every single house?

Also, it’s hard to explain to my parents who live and work overseas that tax return is most definitely not the same as filing to pay them. That said, I never file my “tax returns” as I believe it’s useless especially when my “refund” is barely 100 or less.

Blue ray was something created by Sony, it was capable of storing far more than a standard DvD. A good example would be the LoTR extended editions. If you got the extended edition movies on DvD, it would require 2 DvDs to get the whole thing while blue ray required only 1 disc. The reason why it was the primary disc for PlayStation and say not Xbox was because Sony had developed the blue ray technology and Xbox was their main rivaling competitor. Hope this helps Zeducation

2:51, My best friend and I did this to some potholes in our neighborhood. The city came to us and said either remove the concrete or we're going to fine you. They also threatened prosecution and possible jail time. It made no sense
Makes perfect sense. Government HATES competition.
Just the city raising money for the city. (I used to call speeding tickets and library fines, "supporting my local city".)
If you're using concrete to fix potholes in asphalt, I can totally see why, definitely a hazard!
I actually know the guy in the video and can confirm the transport authority did fine him. Also from the area where he was fixing the holes and the roads are terrible

Meanwhile, my trash bill has doubled to pay for "recycling" and the large facility devoted to sorting.
Interesting. When I lived in NYC, the only plastic allowed to be recycled had to be #2. Otherwise, you could be fined if they caught you. I think my parents were fined a couple times for putting the wrong type of plastic with the recycling.
Chick-fil-A actually does minus cost of .40 cents due to no tomatoes on their sandwich.
Yum!!!😋
1962. Tuesday was Dime Day at Burger Chef. !0 cent hamburgers. Burger Chef was later melded into Burger King.

2:35 Journalism Before vs Now
This cannot be overstated.
TBH Journalism has always been like that. It's only that we are aware of it now. For example during the American revolution printing presses claimed that Washington hated the militias for being untrained and was actually on the side of the British. Washington had to put out a statement by colonial run presses and he literally called it "false news" lol.

Talking about tax refunds: I hate it because they try to pressure me into filing even though I haven’t earned taxable income or never overpaid when I do have a job. Also, it’s hard to explain to my parents who live and work overseas that tax return is most definitely not the same as filing to pay them. That said, I never file my “tax returns” as I believe it’s useless especially when my “refund” is barely 100 or less.
The Obama rookie card made me laugh really loud. Thanks. Made my day.
7:34 Last week, we watched them empty our recycling and trash bins into the same truck.
At work there are two separate dumpsters one is for trash and the other is for cardboard and I saw the same truck came and picked both of them up and dumped them in the back. I just throw the trash in whatever dumpster I want now.
Recycling is a racket.
In NY, we got “fined” for not recycling, when they threw the the shit in the same trash truck

On the topic of employees singing happy birthday to customers, my wife and I took her parents to a dinner and the table next to us requested happy birthday sung by the servers. Their take on this melody was to scream it at the top of their lungs, my poor mother in law was visibly shaking they were so loud. The table enjoyed it so much, they requested it again for the other person at the table who was also having a birthday, so we got to experience this riveting moment again while the table next to us sang and clapped again for happy birthday that they had just finished not 30 seconds ago. I do genuinely believe some people have no clue how annoying they are.

Just informal here.. Blu-ray was ultra high definition and a scratch resistance that definitely beat CDs. They became the new standard of discs whenever there was a new game out. Harder to scratch
I recently found this out because we bought our son at 360 and he's eight so yeah... Very very easy to scratch those compared to Xbox One discs
the fact most kids shows are only ever released on DVD makes it seem like a marketing ploy to get people to have to buy content more than once

Here in South Australia we've had bottle and can recycling before i was born in the 70s. early days were 5c per soft drink can, 20c per glass bottle. Now its 10c per drink bottle. Its even marked on the container weather you can recycle it or not. It made a whole industry about it. It was good for the environment, and it was good for young me to go around on the weekend and collect them up. I could double or even triple my pocket money back then. And yes i still keep my old bottles and take em back..... Pays for my beer. :)
