Atelier R 3 I'm going to wait for how they treat the dlc which I know will be unfair how they handle it.
If they can let us buy it seperate without any limits then I'll buy it. Other than Dragon Quest definitely buying.
Digimon world next order is not a dungeon crawler, the game you described sounds like Digimon world 2.
Digimon world 1 was a tamogachi exploration game, you don't control your digimons and they will die a lot while your train them, make them reincarnated, upgrade your hub town to turn into a giant metropolis and learning skills for your tamer that will make your more effective as a trainer, allowing you to get even stronger digimons and so on.
is a very GRINDY and difficult game, this new ver seems to have added even more quality of life improvements to make it a bit easier (Trust me next order and digimon 1 were BRUTAL) and is direct sequel to the very first digimon world game.
You only get 2 digimon but they can evolve into many digimons depending of their stats and how you raise them, you cannot control them in battle but can give them suggestions and eventually you can make them digivolve in battle (For that fight only) or DNA digivolve (Fusion) And make a Uber powerful digimon again for just that one fight.
Interesting line up. Some will give a pass, while rest will get it on PC.

I was only 6 years old when I first played Final Fantasy 6 in SNES and it completely captured my imagination in a way nothing had before.
I have loved video games ever since, but especially JRPGS and we are currently in another JRPG Renaissance.
VERY excited for Fire Emblem Engage, The Suikoden Remasters, Symphony Remaster, but especially Octooath Traveler 2. The HD2D games have been my favorite in recent memory. Triangle Strategy was so fun.
for me it was FF7 that made me speechless waay back. my first 3d rpg i ever played. Im glad i started with ff7 and not some other crappy ps1 rpg

But seeing Octopath Traveler having a sequel, is reason enough to buy one

Suikoden II is one of my favorite games ever. I'm SO excited to play it in HD.
It will be cool since it's been a long time. More into IPs myself. I'll probably boot up the old PS1 and play the games. It's just more authentic. Hope you enjoy them though!

I finally get too at suikoden 1&2 I absolutely can nott wait and + dragon quest 3 hd2d is soo beautiful. I think they should use it on every oldish older games and bring them back too life like maybe castle vaninna that'd be sick.
I hadn't heard of Demon School until this video, but it's definitely peaked my interest now.
The only series mentioned here that I've played us The Legend of Heroes. I played Legacy of the Moonlight Witch on PSP.

2023 can't come sooner and waiting for this month to pass. Currently sights on P3 portable Persona 4 golden, atelier ryza 3 , trails of games and maybe Dragon Quest 3 hd 2D. Honorable mention to octopath traveler 2 and mega man BN legacy collection... IF Capcom gives us any updates on it lol

I wanted to get more Dragon Quest games so I'm looking forward to the HD2D of DQ III. Never got to try any main titles except of VIII and XI. I'm happy to get to experienced some of older RPGs on the Switch, I never got into a lot of them only few until much later when I got started to enjoyed it more than other genres.

I still have JRPGs on my wishlist that are already released. Now I add FE Engage, Grim Grimoire, Trails of Azure, Trails into Reverie, and others to the wishlist. Maybe I should just accumulate what I can and wait for Nintendo to announce the Switch successor. Then the releases will slow down and I can actually finish more than one game for every ten purchased 😅
really looking forward to those FF remasters since its been literally over a decade since any of the original 6 got a release on console and being able to play the 2d version of FFIII will be awesome (my personal favourite of them is FFV)

Trails to azure has me exited also since i loved Zero last year and it was an amazing switch port, and azure is the same team porting it iirc.

Ugh, an LRG exclusive means we will not get the physical until 9-12 months after the digital release. My hype will be deflated by then, they sure know how to make you flaccid.... :p

GrimGrimoIre oncemore is one of the many JRPG's that i'm excited for. it being a Tower defense-ish game by the talented VanillaWare.
Can't wait to hear more remastered ports of VW's library, here's to hoping for Dragon's Crown, & Murumasa: The demon blade come to switch.

I'd probably have to say I'm most hyped for Octopath 2 and Eiyuden Chronicle...its close between them. Then probably Sea of Stars and Fire Emblem. The Atelier games are fun, the alchemy can be complicated sometimes though lol.

What a year for RPGs 2023 is going to be. Hardly anything on this list that doesn't appeal. Suikoden II remains one of my top 5 RPGs of all time so that is a day 1 purchase for me. Hyped for Persona 4 Golden too because I'm lucky enough to have not played it before

Fate/Extra Record is my most hyped JRPG. I'm hoping it will come out in 2023, but there really hasn't been a lot of news. Last news they had was the new trailer that launched aside the Wada Arco Art Book a few months back.
Definitely getting Fire Emblem Engage and the western versions of Ao no Kiseki and Hajimari no Kiseki. I'll also going to finally play the only Persona with a female protagonist (P3P).
I'll also be getting Ryza 3 at some point and maybe Digimon World Next Order.

I'm hoping Conception gets localized and the sequel gets ported.
Conception II was one of my favorite 3DS games, and I want to relive the experience and play the prequel.
Demon School looks like it'll be the dark horse JRPG of the year for me. A lot of the other bigger name ones will be predictably awesome, but that one seems like it might make a good sleeper hit.
I'm just keeping my fingers crossed the writing is good.
Fe engage, loop8, eiyuden chronicles, octopath 2 my must play from this list. Rain code looks amazing too but more of a murder mystery not a jrpg which is my second favorite genre

I still have some catching up to do, but I want all 3 of the Xenoblades, the Chrono games, and the tales game on Switch. But I also want Tactics Ogre, and the Final Fantasy Repixel that’s coming to Switch. I pre ordered Octopath Traveler 2.

9:40 Digimon World 2 is the Dungeon Crawler... Next Order (as far as I know) is similar to DMW1 & ReDigitize in being a Pet-Simulator/RPG hybrid. I think you'll like it more than DMW2 considering your tastes in other games in this video, but it's too different to compare.
Still need all the Fire Emblem, and Dragon Quest Games too.

I backed Eiyuden Chronicles. Feeling meh about it. The team I personally think is getting way in over its head. So i am extremely glad Suikoden 1 and 2 remaster are coming out. Hopefully they sell well. So we can keep getting new or remastered Suikoden games!

@@dreamofstuff9125 Eiyuden Chronicles looks like a remake of Suikoden 2. The main 2 characters have the same flash animations or about the same as Suikoden. I wouldn't be surprised if they end up changing it before release to not get Konamis attention.

Good update video on many jrpg games I had no idea that were coming out. Well I knew about Octopath Traveler 2 and trinity trigger. While I know this is not a upcoming switch game. I am excited mostly for FF XVI and hopefully if the rumors are true FF IX Remake which I imagine has still a long ways to go. There is also talk about FF X-3 which i have mix feelings about. What would really make my day hopefully one day is a FF 6 remake either 2D or with the new tech consoles....and AND a chrono trigger remake!
I've probably played Tales of Symphonia a hundred times, when I was a teenager I played it with my two best friends over and over on gamecube, so this is basically a guaranteed purchase for me just for the nostalgia (plus its been probably 10 years since I played it). Also sorry to disagree but P3P is BY FAR the best version of P3. Get over the menu and enjoy all the added content :p
I suppose it depends what makes a good RPG for different people. Personally I need a world to explore. Half the charm is lost (for me) despite it having aded content.

I believe you forgot "Final Fantasy" in this list, if I'm not mistaken I think "FF7 Rebirth", "FF7 Ever Crisis" and "FF16" are all slated for next year (sure there's a very real chance at least some of them will get delayed, but at least certain ones will likely release next year...and yes I'm aware "TheatRhythm" doesn't count obviously).

Tales of arise, ff7r too. It would take alot of work to get a decent fps for nexus as ps4 even was low. I literally got a ps5 because of that.

I hope they do something with Suikoden 3 as well. I loved it and have always wanted to replay it with suikoden 1-2 save data (Altho I suppose it doesn’t add much). Suikoden 4 kind of killed the series for me tho.
You forget FF theathrythm next February : it will be more like the arcade version in Japan (playing almost every days during my whv spend thousands en yens inside even if I had the 3DS version)
