    Nick, I am a recent sub of your channel and like it very much. Lost count of how many Kobalt and Husky torx sets I've gone through over the years. Watching your videos I ordered the Wiha 75093 set off Amazon and love it. Excellent tool and very well made. The bits don't twist out of shape and get deformed like the others. Thank you for this video, it made taking knives apart a fun thing to do now.

    5:30 I understand why they don‘t do that. People are going to abuse it, break something and then complain. I guess you could drill a hole through the handle though.
    6:00 Not proprietary, those are regular 4mm micro bits.

    Got this set on your recommendation. Came today and I used it to adjust the pivot on my Civivi Picaro. Just a tiny little turn and it's now perfect. Much thanks, Nick!

    Nick,
    I'm a recent subscriber and follow you closely. I bought this tool kit and really like it. One of the main features of the kit is the bit holding carrier. I most cases I only need 2-3 bits to do the job of disassemble/reassemble a knife. Each bit cradle has a hole in the center of it so you can stand it up when moving to the next bit while disassembling. By standing the bit up after that process, I have access to each bit when reassembling the knife.
    Very handy!

    Precision micro bits are usually designated as 4mm, the regular ones being 1/4” ... there are converter connectors to utilise 4mm with 1/4” handles/ bars and vice versa ...

    I've found that using the spongy rubbery bottom of a mousepad helps grip the bits when they're hard to pull out better than a hard tool.

      or you can simply put a few rubber bands on the handle or wear a tight emulsion glove. It gives you a lot more torgue force.

    I bought some wiha torch bit Allen wrenches because my cheap set stripped and I've been very happy with them. Quality steel made in Germany, not much to complain about.

    I have the Wiha 75093 micro bit set which is the smaller and more portable version of this set, as in...a smaller selection of bits with a bit storage collar and no case. To my surprise, the T6 bit stripped and Wiha does not cover bits under their warranty...even though it was less than 30 days old at the time. Regardless, I love the set and bought a separate T6 driver since it's the one that's used most on my knives and the fixed drivers seem to have better hardening at the tips. Would still buy again but would be more careful and would try to slightly heat up the locktite instead of just trying to muscle it loose. Great review Nick...I'm really diggin your unique topics and interesting perspectives! Much needed in the community. Thank you sir!

      Wiha and iFixit are my top brands for computer and cell phone repair. If warranty is what you're looking for, look into iFixit new 64 bit kit, it has a lifetime warranty.

    This is a bit late, but I’ve found if I need a lot more torque I can use the Wiha 75802 which converts the micro4 (4mm bits) to the more common 1/4 in bits and use a Wiha 1/4 in bit driver and get all the torque I need. Admittedly not for magnet sensitive items but great on knives and guns.

    Are the flathead drivers hollow ground. I'd like one small set (like this) that I could work on knives, watches and the side plates of revolvers with. I know that in all likelihood one set won't do it but, I am a big fan of minimalism. Thank you for your work, it's great stuff!

    Nick, the bits are not proprietary they are just 4mm micro bits. So they can be used in any 4mm driver. Thanks for all your great work I watch your videos every morning

    do you lubricate your bits to prevent rust? if so what oil do you use? if not, have you experienced any rust with the bits yet?

    Hey Nick. Thanks.
    Is there another set you'd recommend over this now? Or the same one still? And is there a "multi-bit" precision driver set (like a klein, only better quality) you know of?
    Thanks.

      Lol. Oh UA-cam. I haven't bothered trying, as it didn't seem likely to yield good results. But it might be a good video to try!

      +Nick Shabazz yeah I bought a American made Kershaw link. I have to say I don't like it and I am with you I personally don't like assisted knives. the link actually hurts the finger to press the flipper. I tried de assisting it and the blade flops around. I know it is spotty on their blades but some you can. nice video anyways and I enjoy watching! are you on fb?

    Hey Nick you should try the tektron it is great bits are magnetic and I use it to take apart all my knives it's a Gem lol...

    • @NickShabazz
      @NickShabazz  8 років тому +2

      Magnetic is something I tend to avoid, because I occasionally do work on watches, and strong magnets are bad news there.

    • @kenrickchow
      @kenrickchow 7 років тому +1

      I personally don't prefer magnetic bits or drivers. I have been searching for long for a non magnetic quality bit set and finally pulled my trigger on WIHA. Magnetic is good in some aspect but can also be very problematic or even nightmare. Use non magnetic tools with a magnetizer is a better way. magnetize the bit or driver only when required and demagnetize it completely once you are done.

    Hey nick... If I'm not mistaken, I think you're supposed to use the driver with "driver extension" installed at all times...!? I'd be afraid that, not necessarily the bits would strip themselves, but that the bits would strip out the plastic tip of the driver...? Idk, juat a thought. Great work nick. I enjoy your vids man. Thanks for the entertainment!
