I think the thing that sets Solar scooters apart is the insane build quality. Built to last, unlike the mass market, plastic trim style scooters. If you use your scooter in the real world, you're going to have to buy the plastic ones every year or so. The Solar stuff is built like a car and is actually repairable. Our Solar P1 2.0 has been a beast of a scooter and can actually climb a real world 15* hill at about 30mph!!

First let me say after researching a lot of electric scooter manufacturers that Solar is at the top of my list for quality and affordability. This EQ scooter would be perfect for me if you would've made it with an easily, removable battery from the deck. Please consider that not-so-difficult option in the near future! The thought of lugging a 30kg / 66lb scooter UP and DOWN 3 or more flights of steps 3 or 4 days a week to recharge it is much less appealing than carrying a 25/30lb battery up and down! When your car battery dies you replace the battery not buy an entirely new vehicle. I don't see at your website that batteries are purchasable. All batteries wear out and will need to be replaced eventually. Add these options and you have me and others as new customers!
Everybody makes black scooters so adding a color option is a step in the right direction. The reason armies of the world use the drab olive green color for their uniforms and equipment is for camouflage reasons. So they don't stand out. I WANT my scooter (and my cars, bicycles, in-line skates, clothing, shoes, etc.) TO STAND OUT. So offer bright, flashy colors as an option like red, blue, orange, yellow, purple. Most of the scooter would still be black but a few pieces of a bright color would give it pop! You did that a little with your E1 and the different deck light colors on other models. Take it further. Metallic paint would be a further plus!

I just ordered this in black. How do you like it thus far, any issues, easy to set up, any recommendations? Did yours come with hydraulic brakes? Is it easy to change tires and brakes? This is my first escooter. I'm nervous and stoked, lol. Debating if the range is ro low or not.
@@shanew7361 I have just over 100 miles so far and absolutely loving it. Definitely recommend. There are some downsides though but nothing major. First, the grips are cheap and move around so get a pair of locking handlebar grips. I got the Ergon GP1’s. These are perfect because they are very comfortable but more importantly they’re shorter than normal grips and that saves a ton of space for other bar mounted accessories. The second major issue was that the handlebars would loosen almost instantly which left me constantly retightening them by hand (the folding mechanism). I found the solution though, Teflon tape (the stuff plumbers use on pipes / shower head / etc). Wrapped the threads good then tightened both handlebars down using vice grips. Now they’re rock solid and this thing is a 10/10. Speed, build quality, acceleration, breaking, looks. All fantastic.
I received mine today. The handlebars are crooked, and one of the rear blinkers doesn't work. I'm not happy and still waiting to hear back from Solar, and I agree the hand grips are trash. What size grips did you get, large or small? The size on ines that came on it seem ok but suck.

Im looking at this one.. the build is really well done ... I had a nanrobot ls7+ which is insanely expensive.. was built well , 2x24000w motors.. and topped at 58mph.. problem was it fell apart to quick.. headlight fell apart, brakes squeaking first week ,and got a flat easily... = This is a much better ride at 3x less the price

like the look.. like the face you have a sinewave controller onboard.. like the price. now for the moan... cable brakes...... on a scooter capable of 40mph. This is less than ideal and hopefully will be addressed to hydraulics soon as they found out on the new varla when they tried it with cable brakes and then had to offer it with hydros based on all the feedback

It's always been a problem with fast scooters, cable brakes, and if you take someone like myself who sits around 130kg (inside the 150kg for the EQ) .. then that just increases the problem even more with less braking being available and a reluctance to use regen for fear of burning out the controller!
@@oddtechman totally makes sense. Although our Regen brakes are extremely good quality and have never had any reports of burn out, I use them for 90% of my braking and 10% with physical brakes.
How long to get it after order date
How does this scooter compare to the FF Lite? I have a couple main questions:
1. Does the steering dampener on the lite make a big difference in ride smoothness?
2. Is the FF Lite noticeably faster?
3. Does the FF Lite have brighter headlights?
Yes it makes for a smoother ride without speed wobble
It’s not THAT much faster, about 5mph more top speed - around the same torque
FF Lite does have brighter headlights, yes
@@SolarScootersuk Thanks so much for the quick response. My brother has the EQ and I’m looking to get an FF Lite for myself. The steering dampener and brighter headlights really seal the deal for me. Also, the range is longer on the FF Lite as well correct?
@@Funz range is about 8-10 miles further than the EQ (depending on conditions of course)

Did you ever figure that out? My brand new EQ came with a crooked handlebar and non blinking rear light.
This is in the same class as the p1 2.0 correct? Could you compare the two?

@solarscootersuk I just saw a review on rider guide for the EQ he mentioned the brakes were hydraulic but on your site it says mechanical. Are they indeed hydraulic? I order mine a few days ago can’t wait.

Unfortunately not
Only issue I have with solar is I’ve accidentally broken my nutt hydraulic brake and they don’t sell spares for the p1 pro brake calliper and leaver and cable wise otherwise excellent had my p1 pro for 2 years still performs like the day I got it even through rain seriously powerful highly recommend but solar please add replacement brakes for nutt as a hard brand to buy spares for

The P1 2.0 would be a good starting point the weight, range and speed which can be limited for you to learn on would make this a great scooter.

FF Lite is brilliant don’t get me wrong. I just personally like lighter weight performance escooters for ease of transport. Which I do a lot.

I'm interested in purchasing this product. Does it have self-healing tires? Are the tires tubeless? How easy is it to change a tire on it? Does it have split rims?
I'm looking for a commuter that can keep up with traffic while also being relatively cheap and easily serviceable.
Sorry for the barrage of questions. I can't find this information anywhere given this is relatively new to the market.
No self healing tyres but you can put Slime Antipuncture in them which we recommend for longevity.
They are tubeless tyres
Tyres can be done with washing up liquid and tyre irons but can be tricky for someone who hasn’t done it before - that said, any local tyre place should be able to take them off for you using the necessary machinery.
No split rim.

To me looks like a revamped p1 pro. Haven’t you learnt the front suspension is crap on p1 pro and again it’s the same on this scooter and what’s with the stupid looking front light it’s about time you get rid of these ugly lights. And for the colour it’s dull. Solar people want range for their money it’s needs a bigger battery from the word go. They is quite allot Escooters with dual motor and a seat and 30 plus mile range under £1000. Your escooters are exspensive people are skint nowadays what you gonna do improve it later with bigger battery and a better front light meh cmon. I want to buy a Escooter from you but your to exspensive offering 10 percent of to us is a lie. Give us good deals please
