When my father was alive, he loved this game. So much that he was the *ONLY* one in our entire household of Super Mario Bros players to beat the game this way. He passed through each and every level, with all secrets and no Warp Zones. Because of that, we had retired and dedicated this game and his feat. Even though we could have beaten the game the same way, my brothers and I vowed to leave him as the sole person to achieve this feat.
I remember when I first played SMB. Great times, good friends, no sorrows. I still remember how excited I was when I found my first beanstalk and had this feeling that I discovered a massive secret. Miss those days.
The best childhood games we spent together unforgettable moments .. will remain stuck in the minds of everyone forever .. How wonderful it was if we can return to the beautiful past !

My fondest childhood memory of this game was jumping on the turtle over and over until I had infinite lives. Impossible to get a game over. And then there's the memory of my aunt helping me thru the last castle.

I would rather than watching cartoons watch that game play and the next day tell him how he played, he couldnt believe how I knew all that. Great memories.

I'd forgotten all the secrets.. and lately have kept dying around level 6-7 and finally made it to Level 8 again only to kark it at 8-1. It's nice to see what lies beyond lol 😂 I remember clocking it when I was 10 back in 92.. but it's gotten rusty.. thanks for the reminder !

Missed something very big on level 3-1 on the last two turtles 🐢 before the jump onto the flag massive points and extra players. Destroy the first 🐢 . Immobilized the second 🐢 on the steps. Jump on it just right and it will bounce back and Mario will continue jumping on turtle shell giving you massive points and extra players. There is a similar opportunity on one of the underground boards.
Eh.. this player was using an emulator with SAVESTATES, you notice this everytime he suddenly stop moving for a considerable amount of time; a save state is being used. This is usually done before/after a hard section [not really] is accomplished. He also were using an emulator feature with auto-double-firing; perfect double fire shots with one frame apart every single time. Perfect jumping were also an auto feature; super noticeable in the two water levels [a human impossibility]. Furthermore, it looked like he'll reveal every powerups he'd come across, yet later on in the gameplay some are totally missed/ignored. And heck he missed quite a lot of coins despite he got perfect double jumps - bad routes in some levels contributed this too. Because of that 1 1up was not received. G lives? No... should've been H lives a.k.a. 27 lives. However.. I have a theory I lives(28) is a possibility; ofc not counting the loop of 1ups using koopa shells-trick, and replaying 4-2, 8-2 [albeit 4-2 is for TAS:ers]. I have found a possible spot in the game where this can be done, an extra 1up, I just need to figure out the right setup. If i'm wrong, then H lives is the MAXIMUM.. not G.. Sure.. the gameplay was okayish, displayed with some skills. It was mostly too slow, too hesitantly, and "cheated" through using an emulator with all its arsenal. I expected a bit more... quite a bit more...
nice play thru. but he might have been using an invincibility glitch. i counted 3 times he should have died. a squid landed on his head. one of those fire wheels got him and in 8-3 you see a hammer hit him in the head and pass thru his body.
This was exactly like how my uncle back in the 80's played. we would play two player, but he would never die, so perrty much just watch him play, just hoping he would die at a new or hard spot, so i could play. But it was cool to see him find new secrets, and get better. till the we all found out about the warps and the infinite lives thing, it got to easy

Nice gameplay !! But missed one very important secret ? In world 3-1 at the end of stage ! Where 2 turtles come downside from that blocks mountain ! Leave the first turtle and then jump on second turtles head at exactly last three steps from the ground ,then jump on turtles shell couple of times from second last step !! Then see the magic first you will 100 points then 200 ,500,1000,and finally you will get 1up after every jump on turtles shell !! You can get as many 1up's as wish !! Try it next time ☺☺☺

The player lost 7 coins, 5 of them because of he was hitting the coins boxes slowly and he did not claim the overall coins in another one in world 8-1. The other 2 coins lost were in two castles, there was a hidden coin box above the bridge of the dragon (or dinosaur whatever you called). That was what I remembered 😏
The secret 1-UP on level one that you find after the green pipe at 0:21 is impossible for me to get and then also go into the pipe afterwards because when I get Mario just close enough to the secret 1-UP block to get it, the green pipe scrolls off screen and I can't enter the pipe because the game doesn't let you back trace. So your Mario or your T.V must be different or something.

I didn't play this game that much back then. However now I can see why this game was so popular. It has the perfect mix. A tough game but definitely not to tough and the game has the best controls. Hit detection is spot on and the one of the best games with how to design a game with the control pad.

He forgot the secret where you can get firepower when your small. To do that make sure you're big with no firepower when you face Bowser (A.KA. King Koopa). Then while you're big, time your jump where you touch the axe a Koopa at the same time. Mario will flash and "ski" towards toad. Then in the next level everything will be reversed. Mushroom: Will make you small Flower: firepower while small Hit by an enemy: lose firepower and remain small Hit by an enemy while small: Mario grows big and dies. This trick will last the rest of the game unless you die. Once you die you'll have to repeat the process again in Bowsers castle)
There is one more secret in level 2 in 2:34 sec when we take up moving stayer ,go on the top not in pipe on the top then you can select the level you want like level 6,5 and 4

From the last pipe (the one leading to the coin room) go six blocks right (or four blocks left from the first pit) and jump up.

Do backwards bumps on pipes and blocks. Mario will move forward few pixels. It's definitely possible.

I didn't play this game that much back then. However now I can see why this game was so popular. It has the perfect mix. A tough game but definitely not to tough and the game has the best controls. Hit detection is spot on and the one of the best games with how to design a game with the control pad.

I remember of me playing it all day don't never get tired of me played it at all period
He forgot the secret where you can get firepower when your small. To do that make sure you're big with no firepower when you face Bowser (A.KA. King Koopa). Then while you're big, time your jump where you touch the axe a Koopa at the same time. Mario will flash and "ski" towards toad. Then in the next level everything will be reversed.
Mushroom: Will make you small
Flower: firepower while small
Hit by an enemy: lose firepower and remain small
Hit by an enemy while small: Mario grows big and dies.
This trick will last the rest of the game unless you die. Once you die you'll have to repeat the process again in Bowsers castle)
