Awesome Q&A, and stoked you picked Melbourne to live 😊 Other Australians love to hate on Melbourne, so when foreigners choose Melbourne over their city, or say they like/love Melbourne, other Aussies get really triggered and offended as if they expect everybody to join in on the collective 'hate Melbourne bandwagon' lol.
It's all so very silly. They aren't in charge of the weather where they are, yet have a dig at us for ours, like it's a personal affront, even though they don't live here and we aren't forcing them to! It makes no sense.
@@triarb5790Give me Melbourne weather any day over Sydney or Brisbane. Nice to holiday up there in our winter, but no way I’d live there. Would rather Hobart, Adelaide or Perth weather over Sydney or Brisbane.
Melbourne is great...the people aren't.. when a whole country has an opinion...at what point would you ask yourself if you are the problem...OK Melbourne..keep being you..haha..Melbourne is as far away as you could get from actual Australian culture.
Lived in Melbourne for 40 years. Weather totally sucks compared to other parts of Australia. Can't stand going back there. Food is the only thing good there
@ Each to their own 🤷🏻♀️ Personally, I love living here . Love the food, Love the hidden laneways in the city, Love suburbs like Carlton, Fitzroy, Richmond, Collingwood, Brunswick, The cafe culture, the access to AMAZING sporting events! Australian Open, Grand Prix, Cricket WOW!!! It’s not all about the weather 🤷🏻♀️
@@RootedMate I LOVE Melbourne's weather ! I love the variety of it. It's never boringly the same. By your comment it is apparent you really know little about Melbourne.
You guys moved into my complex. I juts realised during your nEw Years videos, ha. I'm in B block. Might see you walking through or near the Shell servo, ha.
I did the same, and it changed my life. I picked Melbourne because in the 80s, all Pommie backpackers went to Perth, Cairns, or Sydney, and honestly I'd never even heard of Melbourne 😂. Met my Kiwi husband the first week I arrived, moved in with him within a month. We lived around the world for a few years, and came back and settled here 😊
Welcome to Melbourne! Enjoy your time here. Melbourne CBD and inner suburbs is a fun place to explore on foot as there are hidden eateries, history, laneways to discover. Obviously enjoy the parks, galleries, exhibitions, and different sporting events on offer. Also keep a look out for free outdoor events held. Hope your stay is everything you imagined and more.
Great Q&A session, well done team Edd and Trudy !! And congratulations on breaking the 1k barrier 🎉 I’m off to Melbourne tomorrow and will be sampling Melbourne’s finest in the various public houses across Albert and Middle Parks - cheers 😅
Great vid. I wish you well. You missed out on one of the best Parma places in Melbourne. Mrs Parmas in Melbourne which closed after Covid. Each Aussie city is unique and people are very parochial. I ended up in Melbourne as i married a Melbourne lass ( met when she was in London.) I love it and love the seasons.
Really great Q&A guys! My grandparents migrated from the United Kingdom in 1971 and they have loved Australia ever since. You should also visit Perth some time it’s practically a mini England so many Brits everywhere you go it’s like a whole other country haha. Look forward to more vlogs 😊
Great q&a you guys. Enjoy the great summer vibes in melbs, trudy i think you would love the queen vic markets on a wednesday eveni ng. Its has great festive vibes, and great food. Also try and get to australia open . Great event to head to. Also ven ture into city for great roof top bars . Thx for great vlogs always
Great suggestion! At the Oz Open, instead of buying a ticketed seat to Centre Court, you can buy a Ground Pass for a lot less and sit on the lawn and enjoy all the entertainment, vibes, and watch the tennis action on the big screen. Personally, I find the first week (of two) more entertaining as there are so many more players still in the competition. I think it starts this coming Monday.
you;re a lovely couple, a credit to Aust. for choosing to live in Melb.. sorry but, winter in Melb can be long and a little miserible. But it;s still a great place. Love your blogs keep them up. congrats for you 1k. Happy New Year to both of you Please take care.
@@TrudyandEddTravel, my wife and I did what you are doing in reverse back in the late 90’s and ended up staying in England for 10 years . Had our kids over there as well. We found our first couple of winters hard but you get used to it. On return it was like, was that winter? There are a lot of reasons why, but the rest of Australia has a massive chip on its shoulder when it comes to Melbourne. Another thing, football season is coming soon, you’re going to have to pick a team. Pick the mighty Pies, you’ll never look back!!!
Watched a few of your videos as it always interesting watching people live in a different country. From what I seen it does seem like you not ventured much out of the suburbs you living in. Surprised I not seen a video of your visit in the hills only an hour east of Melbourne. Sherbrooke forest is a must. No point settling down in a city for only a year and not really checking out the interesting places only a small drive away. As for rental situation it seems you are living in an flat block or apartments so I suspect when people mention a rental crisis they are after a house with a backyard to rent. That seems a lot harder to find. Maybe people that happy to live in apartments are going to find it easier , like you both did.
Hi Shaun, we had 40 people at some of the flat inspections we went to so it was a battle, we knew someone who put a good word in with someone to secure out place a 'who you know situation'. In terms of getting out and seeing what we can we are doing our best with 2 days off a week but appreciate the suggestions!
Great to listen to and find out info . Both great in front of camera

In case you weren’t aware, the rest of Australia loves to dump on Melbourne.
I, however LOVE it here.
Weather and all 👍
Melbourne is infinitely betther than the stinking shithole they call sydney (it doesnt deserve capitalising)
We have heard alot of that

Back in the days you didn't need a visa from the UK to get here in Australia. Also a criminal record was a must. It was guaranteed to get you here. 😜
Hahaha very true
Apparently some people even committed crimes in order to get a free passage here 😜
Thats great you get three years,i bet you wont want to leave
Who knows what the future will bring!
Trudy has always looked fit but do any of you notice that Edd the legend, looks 2 times healthier than when he first arrived.
Thanks Chris Appreciate it (Edd)

@ChrisLawn The pommy use of fit or the Aussie???😅

Melbourne isnt Australia.
East is Melhai and west is Melbai
Ah we must of caught the wrong flight!! 😂
What does that even mean, dude?
