I have been there twice, once about 35 years ago before the restoration and again about 2 years ago. My dad told me the story behind it when I was a small child, in the mid 1950's when I lived near Watertown NY. It has always fascinated me.

I would love to visit this Castle one day soon-I would stay the night at Singer Castle which is close by and feel like a princess!!!

Boldt Castle is just like my house... except my house is not a castle on an island... and It's considerably smaller.

If that is true - That is fantastic! What became of his children and theirs? I wish someone would make a proper documentary on George Boldt.

Not from the last 2 generations. In his day, He was pretty well known from what I've read/watched. I went to the castle with my girlfriend at the time last summer. Amazing place. Hadn't been there since I was a kid.
