Scott, excellent video of Boldt Castle boats. It was great spending time with you this week on our Steamboat ( Iron Butterfly). Looking forward to your posting of that day
Beautiful restoration of the boathouse, I can remember my father going into one of them in our number boat in the late fifties or early sixties. I thought it was pretty scarey as in my kid eyes, the whole structure looked like it could fall on us at any time. Always good to see the boats of the museum as well.
@@glassgoat9601 Pretty sure it was #9 purchased from the Nobel family not far from Rockport, Ontario. She blew up and burned about 1983 or 4 because the engine compartment was not vented before starting. This happened at the Andress Boat Works dock in Rockport. Fortunately, there were no deaths, but there were some injuries. We also owned the Dorcas, a converted naphtha launch. Would be happy to communicate by text or message for more details if you are interested.

Great session at the Boldt yacht house. Love all of those boats!
If you had to pick just one?
@@glassgoat9601 I never pick just one!

It is an amazing place for sure. What number boat did your family have?

I presume I am not the only one having withdrawal symptoms :) Hope your summer is going well, Scott !
It is, but the real fun will start when the Lyman launches soon.
That St. Lawrence Sailing skiff has my attention. Woah!
Was talking with another boat builder tonight about a skiff project. If it comes together I’ll let you know.
Thanks for the tour Scott. Beautiful building and awesome boats. Do you get to pilot them over for storage?
I wish! There are several I'd like to take out and try.
A historical marine and architectural feast for the eyes! Thanks for the tour.
Thanks Jeff! Glad you enjoyed it.
