you really don't know how you helped me i just started karate 2 months ago and i didn't know how to do this kick and i was shy because i found that i am the only one who didn't know how to do it i don't know how to thank you you saved me i learn it now but i have to train to the other leg !! stay safe and i wish you a blessing day
Thank you so much for these tutorials! Your break down of the techniques makes it so much easier to understand how to execute them properly. I've been struggling with Ura mawashi geri and ushiro mawashi geri, so it helps a lot to watch your videos. And congratulations to ILJA for making it into the Olympics! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Best regards from Brasil! 🙏🏻🥋🇧🇷
Sensei - having previously owned a Tokaido Kata Master Athletic Gi many years ago, I’ve just purchased another one. Without a doubt - my best Gi to date. Fantastic fit, Great Snap, Great detailing ! Much Respect. OSS Alec 🥋🤜
I bought my Tokaido gi in 1975 .I think £50 ,( a lot of money back then ) i still have it .But stopped trying after 8 years of shotokan .I graded through to last Brown belt under sensei Enoeda
When I was kid, I used to train the basic kicks like mae-geri and mawashi-geri, but I always wanted to learn ushiro-mawashi-geri. I thought that was the coolest of kicks.
There's also a "hip break" element of this kick where your hip goes opposite to the kick just before your kick hits its target. That's actually a very important element of this kick as that is where a lot of its power comes from. Overall a very good explanation of the kick.
@@Chapperino its when you twist or push your hips in the opposite direction where yout kick is going. There is a guy who calls himself AJ Van Bakker El Duro who explains that hip btreak very well so you should check him out.
I just got back to class and I've regressed A LOT!! Only ura mawashi was giving me problems but now I'm even struggling with mae geri. And the day before, my sensei was working this kick with us.. i was the only one not being able to do it 😢 Now it's my homework and you're saving me 😂 Thanks!!!!!
I would like to show you how a real Ushiro Mawashi Geri goes. Mine doesn't come with the hip rotation like you do. For me it comes when I open the tension from my groin like a whip with power. I learned from Asai and Yahara. Greetings from Germany
Yes. Good Question. Some recommend that you do since the maximum power of the kick is achieved at about 10 or 11 o'clock rather than straight in front of you, so it helps if you opponent is a little to your left (according to a Taikwondo guy).
If its Not possible because of your Hip Then just do it Chudan. But if you have no physical constraints I recommend stretching, Holding exercises and practise, practise and practise. We already uploaded kicking videos. 👍
I though Rodney this kick was called a spinning hook one too seeing all the spinning back kicks I've witnessed connect either with the heel or the sole of the foot.
I trained from 1972 to 80 and we always called it a spinning back kick .my fav technique was a feint left foot mae geri ,drop the left foot and spin connecting with a right foot back kick.
Love the way you break the techniques down into their separate components.

Isnt this a spinning reverse roundhouse kick rather than a spinning back kick?
Yes, it’s a spinning hook kick, aka reverse roundhouse.
Sensei Can I say Ushiro Ura Mawashi Geri for this moves?
Thank you so much, Sir!
Thanks
🔥🔥🔥👍💪😁
Just a little comment: eye sight must kick before the leg. Not the case here...
Hi where did you get your man shaped pinching bag ?
Hi Ken, hab mir eben das Video angeschaut. Aber ist das nicht Ushiro URA Mawashi Geri? VG Uwe

Stretching tips for this kick?
Hello, can you send me the complete training of Chatanyara Kushanko's kata. Thanks
What's the reason you don't take a step across with the front foot?
Yes. Good Question. Some recommend that you do since the maximum power of the kick is achieved at about 10 or 11 o'clock rather than straight in front of you, so it helps if you opponent is a little to your left (according to a Taikwondo guy).
It can be mixed with the back kick.

only right leg?
What if we cant rise the leg to head level?
If its Not possible because of your Hip Then just do it Chudan. But if you have no physical constraints I recommend stretching, Holding exercises and practise, practise and practise. We already uploaded kicking videos. 👍
I’ve never seen this kick called a “spinning back kick” before. I’ve only ever heard it referred to as a “spinning hook kick”.
