What pisses me off is that they all say "he just rhymes words" He doesn’t just rhyme words. He bends them, he pairs them, he even makes them (“stan” now officially in the dictionary). Eminem is a master of breaking down words into syllables. He uses them like bullets. He carefully stitches up syllables and words that create a grand rhyme. His rhyme schemes don’t follow the traditional AABB or ABAB, it has variety of A-Z. It’s a journey from start to finish. His lyrics flow, no matter how many obstacles block its way. His rap is like a motorcycle weaving in and out of traffic just blasting through cluster and coming out untouched. It’s simply amazing. At the end of the day even though he writes like a rap god, he’s gotta rap like a rap god, and that’s why he is the rap god …. because nobody else comes close to writing AND rapping like he does. It’s the total musical package that makes him so great.

I thought my philosophical way of describing his rap style on YT Music was descriptive enough I call Em the musical lyricist cos he broke the rules of Hip Hop destroyed it to make it a free 4 all but even your description betters mine I totally agree with what you say and you've said it better than me I love how he slates one celebrity to another one he's the GOAT for a reason and is the best at it he even says one of the longest words on one of his tracks Antidisestablishmentarianism such a leg end and my favorite quote of his is Be careful what you wish for cos you might just get it and when you get it you may not know what to do wit it

Em is my #1 artist, but this is basically implying he's the only one making hard rhymes? No one in hip hop follows the "traditional" AABB or ABAB, because you gotta have internal rhymes. Em isn't the best in the industry when it comes to rhyming, just take a look at fucking DOOM. He's surely one of the best, but it's not like no one comes close. Same goes for his lyricism, like wordplay and shit. I agree on the *very last* sentence tho.

I'm a big Em fan, would def put him as my number 1 fav artist by miles, but I have to disagree here. Tech, Busta, Kaliko - there are quite a few people who fit the description of your comment. And I'm not saying they do it better than Em or the other way around, all I'm saying is that Em's goat status comes from the versatility - he can do everything at an elite level (storytelling, flows, speed rap, schemes, outrageous, etc) while most rappers are great at a few of those and not that great at the rest. Just my 2 cents at least

Stood up to Suge only waiting to start fighting Suge should shit have popped off! Suge brought 30 Mexican thugs with him to the video set of "In Da Club". Em heard that threw on a bullet proof vest and grabbed a bat or wooden stick or something and stood a couple feet in front of Suge. Suge took one last drag on his cigar and threw it towards Em's feet, stepped on it, then rounded up the Mexicans to get out of there. He couldn't believe what Em had done. The only white boy and he's the one going toe to toe with Suge. I think Suge was scared shitless thinking Em truly was a psychopath who would have un-alived him. Especially to protect 50!!!

Lots of people doesn't know that rap stands for rhythm and poetry. There is not a rapper alive who is as good as Eminem when it comes to rhythm and poetry. Poetries tell stories, once you add the beats, cadences, and start flowing in a certain way, that's where the rhythm comes in....Eminem is the GOAT and it's a real shame that we'll never get a song with Eminem and Tupac...just imagine Prime Eminem on a song with Prime Tupac

Great review!! I don't think Em has ever produced 80% of his tracks as a mainstream rapper, ever. Maybe, more like 50%-60% of his tracks through-out his mainstream career! Denaun Porter, Dr. Dre, Mike Elizondo, Luis Resto, and a bunch of other producers have and continue to produce a very large percent of his tracks to date!! As a hard-core Eminem fan, I get were you're coming from! Bully came out in 2003!! I remember when this track came out and it was played a whole lot in 2003/2004!! Continue your great responses to videos!! BTW, 2Pac, Em and Nas are my three favorite rappers!!

Some backstory to this Benzino feud.
In middle school and then high school, Marshall used to rap in a late '80s-early 90s crew called Basement Productions soon retitled to Soul Intent.
This was his first group before the Bass Brothers, D12, and meeting Royce and forming Bad Meets Evil. It was 4 white kids around the suburbs of Detroit. The group was comprised of a DJ and Producer (Manix), and two rappers, Chaos Kid and M&M. They made alot of tape recordings in Manix's basement together, but the two rappers were solo, so the tapes had one side Chaos Kid the other side M&M. I don't think Marshall liked Chaos that much.
Then Marshall met Proof in high school and started rolling with a different crowd and starting working with different producers and groups.
After he got famous they felt like Marshall abandoned them so Chaos Kid brought a tape to The Source magazine. This after Benzino purposely snubbed Em and his camp with downplay reviews of their albums. Benzino and Dave Mays put Eminem on the cover with the headline "is Eminem a r*c*st?" And released the tape recordings on a free cd inside one of the following magazine issues. Em had to publicly apologize and defend himself by releasing "Yellow Brick Road" on his next album after a string of disses against Benzino. He then had his people get the tape and all other tapes from Chaos Kid and Manix now in his possession and destroyed them probably. Making sure nothing else would come out. Chaos Kid later released two open letters online then unalived himself. Very sad.
Benzino lost the beef but ruined his family over it and to this day saying he is the R word and doesn't deserve accolades in Hip-Hop because he's white. He is still out here looking crazy about Em when he lost the beef and his business and his family over it 20 years ago.

This dude can rap anyway you want it. When he raps fast you can hear every word he’s saying because he enunciates so well. There is a reason why he’s the best rapper to ever touch a mic. People that won’t admit that either have not really given his music a true listen or they don’t really understand hip hop. You need to be able to understand rhyme structure, rhyme schemes, cadence difference, metaphors, entendres, simile , etc. etc. you can’t judge a persons performance unless you understand what you are judging and i would say most people don’t know the things i mentioned above. They just hear a beat they don’t like and the music flys over their heads so they call it trash. Ehhhh WRONG way to judge ! Have to use your heads man !!!!

  • @Ialreadyhaveaname2
    @Ialreadyhaveaname2 4 місяці тому

13:40 That's a style in poetry, "Bay" rhymes with "Say", in poetry it's called ABAB or Alternate Rhyming, where every other line rhymes with each other.
Honestly the fact that he changes styles in such a fluid way is just amazing. The first two lines of that section use an internal, or middle rhyme style where he basically rhymes "more" with "more" (normally you shouldn't try to rhyme a word with itself but Em is so damn good he pulls it off) and "enemies" with "unfortunately", then with the third line its almost like using a AAB style, the first two use rhymes and the third does not.
Next three lines are traditional AAB, then 3 more AAB, then the last three are A - internal rhyme - A.
The way he mixes traditional rhyming is just amazing, it's really artistic, honestly. Very unique and pleasant to listen to, even if its a diss track.
I always wonder if he actually knows what types of rhymes he uses or if it just comes naturally to him. I don't think he ever took a literature class but it also wouldn't surprise me if he did, considering his usage and seeming knowledge of the techniques.

the funny thing is all Em is talking about here, 20 years later benzino cried live and talked about all this while crying, EM is such a GOAT how he knew the feeling of what Benzino was feeling and still felt through 20 years after this song and still going... takes a GOAT to put himself in his shoes and spit fire lyrics about it

Eminem is from the Midwest , he was born to rap fast , its literally in his blood like every single other Midwest rapper including myself & im not even famous but its just natural to us especially if u grew up before the year 00' !!!!! Eminem rapped fast on all of his songs before his first underground album !!!!! Go check out Biter phobia or Fuckin Back Stabber for example!!!! Hes always rapped fast but would have never got as famous if he didn't slow it down for dumb ppl !!!! Hes a genius for not showing his fans his rapid fire the first decade of his career & just keeping it in his bag till later on !!! Hence why ppl went crazy when he did Rap God in 2013 & everyone went crazy asf over it because they were not used to that❤
Also u named 2pac DMX & 50 as bullies but none of them did it like Em Bullied anyone 💯 why u think 50 & him are so damn close & he was really cool with DMX too !!!! They did a diss against Benzino & Ja together on "Don't Go 2 Sleep" diss record 💯

Some new fans are so inflexible and used to the same shit over and over again that they can’t grasp anything else. Stuff like this contributed to Kendrick’s blueprint. Spoken word to start, unphased, relaxed cadence first verse, etc. lol a lot of ppl when they heard Euphoria start were like this is trash, when is Kendrick going to diss?!
No comprehension of well crafted, psychological rap warfare.

Here's one for you to react to. I hope that you are a religious, hopefully Christian person. As the title says it's in honor of Jesus. So, PLEASE remember this when you listen to and watch it!!! Great motivational song!
It's called "Rapping for Jesus" by a white reverend at a church in the South trying to help the next generation with songs they can understand in rap form.!!!
