I love the way every video showing mounting the 360 on a motorcycle handle bar. Its always a morocycle with tubular handle bars. When there are a ton of bikes with clip on bars.

I’ve never used any of their products but this one has me interested the most if the battery life is as good as you mentioned.
OC: I've played around with a Garmin Virb360. Can do some reall fun stuff. I'm glad you talked about the editing workflow because it's not just copy pasta like a GoPro. Reframing takes extra time and effort.
OC crew: Been looking at getting my first camera/s for riding and had seen these while doing so. Still kind of torn between a helmet mount and bike mount, but I like the idea of have the ability to swivel the 360 shot. As usual thanks for the great video and keep up the good work!
Please clarify. You said the m/c kit has everything you need yet a lot of your footage sees the camera mounted on a six foot unicorn mount out front of your bike. Is this a separate purchase?

Love my X2. Have some purdy cool shots from the track and street riding. Great quality 360 camera and the new X3 looks even better. If I hadn't just bought it recently I'd definitely get an X3. For anyone looking or on the fence about buying one, they're great and easy to use and edit with the free software. Buy one!
Can I install an external mic via bluetooth?
OC. I've been using the one r for the a little 3 years now. I'm still trying to figure out how to edit smoothly and find music to go with videos for longer videos. I normally do longer rides 200-300 mile trips in a day. I have a ton of footage from a 10 day, trip covering 4700 miles, I did in July I need to start going through. my big issue with the one r is battery life. especially now that the batteries are a couple of years old and living in the Midwest I really only get to use them a few months out the year. my concern with switching to any of the new cameras is lens protection. i like the ones they have for the one r. keeping them clean is a pain but I know they aren't' going to fall off and I'm not going to get a broken lens from a stray rock or June bug. I'm really interested in learning more about mounting that is my struggle right now. the original mount they had in the motorcycle bundle was trash. i broke 2 in a mater of months on my street glide. vibration and wind being the reasons for the failures I believe and they were completely made of plastic. would be nice to get a long term review on how the new mount holds up. riding season is almost over here so i have a few months before I buy anything new.

OC: I have never used one but I have been wanting to get one but don't know if the x3 or the new gopro will be better. It will be awesome if you can compare the x3 to the new GoPro 360.

Do you have any videos featuring the different brand/types of the third-person perspective camera mounts? The ones with the extended stick? I'm having difficulty deciding which brand to get. The insta360 brand handlebar third-person mount/stick is apparently defective according to many reviews on Amazon...so I'm wondering what else to buy instead.
I want to get this. But damn is so expensive and for something that will be mounted on a motorcycle I’m afraid of it flying out and loosing such an expensive item. Hopefully it’ll be on sale this Black Friday and maybe I’ll pick one up.

Just got my X3 cam but my Harley is in the shop. Do you recommend a swivel head or with the 360 just screwing it on the stick enough? Trying to up my game as an amatuer Moto Yapper :)
OC!! I've used the OneX and X2 but I'm not sure I can justify the X3. I just don't use it enough and my channel is way too broad (I.E. all over the place)... but for sure I agree, they are awesome and people should watch all of my stupid videos so I can get monetized. 🤘😎

Has anyone mounted the 360 camera to clip on handlebars with that handle bar mount that comes in the motorcycle mount bundle. or is there a better mount for that ? I want to use it on my ducati 939 Supersport. where I can hopefully see me and whats behind me. and see my dash and wind screen and whats in front of me at the same time. I don't really want to use the stick on mounts on the bikes paint. I wish there was a video just on all the different ways of mounting the 360 camera on different bikes with clip on bars. I also have a Ninja 400 I want to use it on.

Thanks for your video. If I well understood, I can use this X3 as dashcam? and the best place is in front, on 360 mode with a time loop shot by 15mn. Could you confirm, in this use case we can see the cars' number plates please? thanks in advance.

Question about the ball joint mount. Is the screw on it a stud or does it go all the way down into the ball joint? Them stud screws are a nightmare if they pop out with a camera on it.

Ah chase man i gotta comment and say this because im looking into getting a camera like this for my bike and you dont show any footage with audio from the device itself? does it have a microphone that is uses and how does it sound?
OC: Can the loop record button be pressed from a remote control? If I wanted to mount the x3 out of my reach could I still hit the record loop button?
Helpful video, thanks. But loop recording doesn’t sound very practical/smart for capturing potential accidents - if you’re hurt and can’t stop the video, you’ll loose the footage of the accident.

Regarding @ 8:45, I used a silver colored, narrow tip Sharpie to mark the Powe button to easily distinguish it from the Mode button.

Quick question, is it really necessary to buy the motorcycle bundle to record on my motorcycle. It isnt really clear what comes exclusively with the bundle and not the simple 3X pack. I would like to attach it only on the handlebars
For the power button, you could just add a dab of hot glue (or clear epoxy), I did that on my Africa Twins horn, so I could "feel" which button it was.

Could you tell me if i could connect to an intercom helmet system( Sena) and speak via the microphone of the helmet and record at the same time as the video is captured, please?. Second question is if I am connected Bluetooth with my pillion if at the same time if I could connect the camera to my own Bluetooth intercom system because some cameras don’t have more than one Bluetooth connection.

OC: I like the loop recording, could be a second "dash cam". I'd like to have a 360 camera for Fall rides and the like. One thing, when you were looking back at yourself in ATL. THe blue in teh sky was much different thant the GoPro, are there filters for the 360 out there?

I love my GoPros, but they have not expressed any interest in updating the Max and that is super disappointing.
They have made some pretty good progress with their sensors over the years so I don't know why they haven't updated their 360 offerings, as the 11 wasn't really much of a bump IMHO. The single-lens mode on the Max is pretty weak compared to years-old GoPros as well so it doesn't really add to the value for me. Even if it was the same size as the current Max I would still buy it over the Insta as I like to stay in the same ecosystem.
If they don't update it by the time I'm shopping for a 360 cam this year, the Insta seems like the better choice.
I have a GoPro Max and the sound quality in the wind is outstanding. That being said I just got my Insta360 X3 today and I hope it’s as good. Side note: If you’re exporting at 4K it’s just upscaling the footage. When you reframe the 360 footage it’s much less than 4K. But if you shoot single lens it should be in 4K.
Which one you like more or recommend more: the x3 or max?
@@aaronqueen55 The GoPro has an image drift issue that they won’t acknowledge or fix. I can see why so many people are abandoning GoPro.

OC I'd really love to see a comparison between the 360 X3 and the One RS 1" 360 Edition. Those 1" lenses call to me hard, but the x3 is $350 cheaper, lol
Go for the cheap one , learn from your own mistakes , hehehehe and later with a lot of experience get the ONE inch....hehehe..
Only complaint about the quality of the 360 cam is the high saturation

maybe someday in the not so distance future these cameras will be designed with built in wifi/bluetooth for easier more efficient use. Particularly helpful during riding/recording options n downloads. Nice vid
But... they are built with WiFi/BT already in... even my old Hero6Black did xD
I love that you can record 360 in 5.7 and export in 4k after editing. My real only complaint with the HeroMax is quality isn't quite high enough for me in 360 mode. Loop recording sounds like it has lots of potential! Great review and great edit as usual. Plus the disappearing selfie stick (I know it's not a new feature) is awesome!
if you reframe the video to 16:9 standard wide screen or 9:16 vertical mode it exports in 1080
The loop mode only saves if you hit the save button? What about if the camera is mounted where you can’t reach it?

How to use for insurance purposes? Is there a button you can press that saves footage of what happened 2min in the past and then records a further 2min into the future so it captures and saves what has happened before the crash, during the crash and after the crash?

wait so with loop mode, it deletes all the footage except for the last 15 minutes? let's say I cruise for 60 minutes, and something happens... I press the "stop" button... it will save the footage from the 45th minute until the 60th?
I mounted a 360 x2 on my Harley. Went for a ride and when I returned all that was left was the internal plug out of the camera. I contacted Insta 360 and they blamed it on my not mounting correctly? You screw it on? No other way, but screw it on?? They dodged every angle of it being their product and blamed it all on me! I have 4 GoPros now. Screw Insta 360! Lack of Accountability can ruin a company.

I have the x2 and the difference in specification is not that much. I wouldn’t pay to upgrade. The new screen is great but once you are set up the old one is ok.
