Reviews of Chinese Chainsaw's Extreme Power 52 CC & X-Bull 62 CC..They are a Beast for the Price

- #LarrySbrusch..I cut a lot of logs for my sawmill operation and budget does not allow me to buy a top of the line Stihl 460/461 chainsaw..so this was my next best buy and it turned out to be a sweet deal
The review covers the chinese made chainsaws: The X-Bull series CS6200 62 CC & The Extreme Power 52 CC Chainsaw. Both are very similar and run great
I also have an old homemade sawmill that I built and by finding great deals like this, it increases my profit margin in the log or wood slab business
Both of these saws were purchased off of ebay and I will try to post the links in description, but no guarantee if they will still have them or if any will be left to purchase as it seems the chinese keep making different chainsaws and just change the brand names
will be posting a follow up video after I run it and get it broke in good

I have the 62 cc X Bull myself. It's awesome! Starts reliably, runs reliably, has great power, cuts excellently, and sounds amazing. Unlike others who commented I don't have any quarrel with the chain. It's just fine by me. Keep it sharp. It's only the recoil assembly that I don't like. But it does work.
I am pretty please with what I got for the price
After disspointment with my stihl farmboss 290 I decided to get a $85 Chinese saw on eBay. After about 20 tanks of gas through them iam impressed. Hey I can buy 5 of those Chinese saws for the price of my one stihl farmboss.
appreciate the comment. Thanks
I have a Chinese saw ($83 62 cc 20" bar I found on Amazon). Runs good but let me tell you, it is a toy next to my big STIHL saw (MS 661 C-M with 91.1 cc motor and 36" bar) which can run a full comp chain in wood so deep the tip is buried, it'll still be screamin through. Those big saws STIHL makes can last over 20 years and that's gonna be the main difference. The Chinese saws are plastic casing instead of magnesium, as well as many other differences which make me think they probably would need a revamp before 2000 hours runtime. Fair for the price though. I'm not gonna complain. Sorry to hear that your STIHL didnt hold up. There are a few bad ones here and there just like all the manufacturers.
@@joshuamusser8893 I have to agree with you. I sure wish I coould afford a new one...just to see what it would feel like..keep saving my pennies. Thanks for the comment
@@LarrySbrusch You know what they say, it's good to have a 461 and a buddy with a 661. 661's will wear your arms out after a few hours I ran 8 tanks of gas through it today with the 36 inch bar and I'll tell ya what, I'm gonna sleep good tonight. If we lived closer you could definitely use it for fun
Appreciate the comment.thanks
I heard the spark plug in then cheap saws is meant to be bad try replacing it and see if it starts easier you have most likely tried that and the xbull has pull assist thingy meaning you shouldn't pull the cord as hard as possible as it will break it
Thank you
The Chinese clone chainsaws are not all 52cc as several people have commented. Except for some cosmetic differences, and a few functional differences, such as type of recoil starter or carburetor, they are all built on the same frame, handle, starter, engine, etc., but the "bore and stroke" of the engines are different, i.e., only the cylinder and piston size are different on the base engine. That is, you can replace the cylinder and piston on the 52cc engine to make it a 62cc engine, or vice versus. There are many UA-cam videos showing how to make this modification on a base Chinese clone chainsaw.
I believe you are right..especially about the recoil..mine broke and I finally decided to fix it..video coming out this weekend on the repair
Try cleaning the spark arrestor in the old saw as it could be dirty and if you remove the spark arrestor it gives it a little more power but I'm pretty sure it's illegal as it can cause a fire but it's highly unlikely
Appreciate the comment. Thank you
Illegal on u.s. forrest service lands. Not illegal on private property in frickin east texas.
Come on man!
You do you on private property.
Got 2 of the 52cc miracles
Dropped the first one out the back of the jeep and ran over it with the log trailer. Broke the back handle smooth off. Still ran but to put it in a log would be unsafe. Thats now the parts pile. The second one ran just as good as the first, but the tank hose split at 6 months
They used a black rubber instead of tygon. Going to go tygon and remote maple syrup bottle as a fuel tank.
20:1 12 hour break in then 25:1. Use less oil if you would run your tractor 4 quarts low. Same result.
Appreciate the comment. For the money it’s hard to go wrong with one of these. I cut 8 more 80 pines down yesterday with mine
I've got a 52 and a 62, and they have been through the worst and just get better. People just can't believe. I don't care for China one bit, but facts are facts about the saws, these things won't stop. I've tried. The ones I have, have already left two huskys we had in the dust. No way I'm getting rid of mine, and I'm getting more for backup.
Good deal. Appreciate the comment
I bought a x bull commercial 75cc chain saw of ebay only a few days ago just to see how if there any good I paid 109 dollars in AU ,I LIKED YOUR REVIEW ,THEY LOOK LIKE A STILL CLONE,
For the price, you can't go wrong..I still use mine,,but the pull rope recoil is starting to show signs of wear and will need to be replaced..I purchased a spare one for 12.99 on eBay ahead of time..

You can lock the red ones throttle
My lock does not work. I tried that. But appreciate the comment
I ended up ordering an X-Bull on eBay which came with the spring assisted easy start system (as Husky and others are starting to use). My gut feel is that most of these Chinese saws are probably coming with this feature but at least in my case, they aren't coming properly assembled. The design of these easy start systems is gently but firmly pulling the cord is actually winding up tension on a spring and when the spring tension builds to overcome the engine's compression, the spring tension actually turns the engine over. I noticed on my X-Bull that it wasn't fully functioning this way out of the box. And after the first couple of times starting it, I actually had a problem where the start cord retracted part of the way but jumped off the pulley due to lack of tension in the spring. I had to open the saw up to get it untangled and then fixed the problem. First, it seemed like the pulley was binding a bit so I loosened the screw in it's center a bit to free it up. But the main issue is you need to rotate the pulley around "backwards" several rotations as you start to feel the spring tension build. I can't say exactly how much is the perfect amount but I put pretty decent tension on mine, probably 3-4 full rotations more than it started with, maybe more. As you're rotating it backward, the cord is going to want to wind itself up (but in the wrong direction). Pull the cord slack enough to keep it drawn away from the pulley as you rotate it backward. When you feel it's tight enough, go ahead and let the pulley unwind, winding the cord up. Once you put the saw back together, you should no longer be trying to yank it with a ton of force like "old school" saw starters. Just pull nice and steady until you get toward the end of the cord and it should release and turn over if you've preloaded the spring enough. How much you preload it will dictate how far out the cord is pulled before the spring overcomes engine compression. Hope this is helpful to you.
Good information .thanks for the comment
If looking to put a longer bar on the xbull, any specific bar specs needed?
Main thing to be concerned about is to make sure you match the bar and chain..as a set so the chain rides in the sprocket correctly
A stihl bar will work on this saw then along as the chain matches?
I re order the x bull so I ORDED a 62cc x bull from another seller it will be here this month the red model thank you for your review, KIND REGARDS TONY
can you send me a link where you order from
The seller that I got this one from no longer has these in stock, but I will try to find a link to someone that has it..you will find a few on eBay right now, that look similar, but are branded differently
Pretty sure it's not 62 cc. All the Chinese eBay chainsaw, regardless of advertised engine CC size are all 52 cc. Still, it's not a bad thing as they have really torque range. I purchased a generic 58 cc Chinese chainsaw (brand is Vehpro advertised 58 cc) and it looks pretty much the same as X-bull, minus the purge bulb, and has QuickStart. Does the X-Bull have QuickStart pull?
Appreciate the comment and you are probably right.. they are all pretty much the same , just different colors and branding
If it is starting to curve during a cut the left and right cutter links on your chain are not sharpened evenly. You may have rocked your chain or hit a nail or rock logged in some bark. The only effect the longer bar should have is a slight decrease in power.
Thank you for the comment. That is a great answer and something I did not know to look at .. Again Thanks.. I am sure this will help others as well..
Your welcome . It’s been a while since I have used a saw . But I use to work for the Us Forest service. I learned a lot of little tips and tricks. A cheaper saw works just as good as a expensive one if you maintain them properly you can even rebuild them when they get old and tired if you have more time than money.
Keep sharing your knowledge..I am never too old to learn..it takes guys like you to help us learn new things..thank you
I have an old mac that I picked up at a garage sale real cheap and I'm going to try to get it running, just to see how it performed..if I can find the parts I will need
If you can get the specs for any part's you can't find, you can machine them on a table top lathe since chainsaw parts are small, you shouldn't need a big lathe.
Awesome I will get one
Appreciate the comment
If needs be, where do you finds parts for this? Im thinking about buying this but if things go bad down the road, i want to prepare. i cant find any parts on ebay
I'm not sure, but what I paid for it..if it last 12 months and all the wood I cut with it..I could throw it in the trash and still be ahead..just my thoughts
Its a zenoah clone...so you should look for zenoah parts list...g455 specifically. I say just get 2 and keep a parts saw lol
Just search for what you're looking for followed by 5200 5800 or 6200. Aside from cylinder and pistons pretty much everything is interchangeable
@@modifiedchevy I would add to that....include Chinese chainsaw in ebay
I just ordered a 62cc xbull chainsaw it will be here this Saturday. I have done some research and I believe the chain that's on it is a 0.325 0.058 76 tooth is that correct? I have been on Amazon and eBay trying to find a organ chain or a Husqvarna chain. Does the chain have to be 76 tooth test fit the X Bull Bar I think I did see a 72 tooth chain. Or has anyone had any luck with the knock-off chains. I bought a 38cc farmtek chainsaw last year and I put a Oregon bar and chain on it it only came with a powerhead and it has paid for itself five times over. Can I upgrade to a 22in bar or should I just keep the 20 in only on the Xbull . Need help finding a reasonably priced good chain.
I believe you are correct on sizing..I would also stay wit the standard size chain to how it performs..at the beginning and maybe do what I did, try a bigger bar on some bigger logs to see how it does .I have ran about 15 tanks of fuel through mine so far..and all is well..need to put another review together
I just went to my local saw shop and they made me a 76 count chain for $20. Way better chain than what comes stock on the X-bull.
Thank you for making this video. I had a Husqvarna but the darn emission controls made it so gutless and hard to start I had to give up on it. I plan on getting one of these.
Not very familiar with Husqvarna, will one day find one at a garage sale and experiment on it..appreciate the comment
To both of you....contact me if you want unbelievable husq. Copies or any of these komatsu/Zenoah copies. I have maybe the best of the best....I also have access to parts. If your not familiar with husq. 372 youll be amazed. I was a stihl guy for 20 years but getting into these saws has made me respect others. Im not aa cheap as ebay x-bull but I will have parts. I had an incredible quality version of these arrive yesterday. Looks good too.
Did you ever wind up getting a STIHL?
No not yet..can't seem to find the extra cash yet..one day it will come

What ratio gas you use?
I have been useing 50-1 ratio..
Larry Sbrusch alright sweet long as its running good...i have the same saw the pamphlet said either 20:1 or 25:1 but it was in liters and I’ve always used 50:1 so thats what I’m using too
Also, so far its a hoss cant say much for the chain tho...easy fix i got the chainsaw 58$ shipped so cant complain
@@christopherlaney4691 I am starting to have some issues with the cheap chains...May have to step it up.. seem like they get more slack than usual more quickly
Larry Sbrusch yeah i think the metal isn’t top tier mine dulled quick and come to think it ran loose as well the chain info is in the pamphlet Im gonna buy one before i use it again
Run a 22" on the 52, just keep that bar dressed. Change out the sprocket and slap a 28" on that 62, you won't have to bend over as much. Break in with 1-25 mix on first tank and work up to 1-40. All the extras that come with them, chunk in the trash.
Sounds like a plan. Might give that a shot. Appreciate the comment

Crooked cuts are not from bar length, they are from dull chains.
Dull chains and bad or worn bar
Put some muffler mods on them mabye rig up an aftermarket airfilter. Bet they wake up quite a bit.
Yeah baby ???? Good suggestion
They should badge these "Deep throat". Deep throat for deep logs. haha

I am thinking about buying one of these saws. Which one would you recommend? The X-Bull, or xtreme power?
I would have to go with the extreme, simply because of the pull starter..they both do a good job..
I have seen a couple of UA-cam videos that claim all those chinese saws are 52CC regardless of what their description says. Let me know after you use the new one if you notice any real difference between the 52CC and 62CC saw. Thanks.
I did feel that the X-Bull had a little more power after cutting 4 70 foot pine trees and about 14 red oaks that we're about 40 feet tall.I ran about 5 tanks of fuel through it..I would have to give it a thumbs up on power over the 52 cc

Bought the Xbull. Couldn't start it to save my life. Nothing. Has spark, seems to get gas but will no ot start. Contacted the seller on Ebay who accepted the return but hasn't send me return label. I have email them a few more times they are keep delaying sending me a return label. I'm pretty sure they are just trying not to send until Ebay return policy expires. If anyone is looking for a cheap reliable chainsaw with good customer support buy a craftman from Lowes or Poulan from Tractor Supply.
Let it set for a few minutes and restart it..do not pump the primer bulbs over three times once you see it pulling fuel..they are very easy to flood causing the spark plugs to foul out until the fuel drys out on it....I has similar issues until I figured it out
Two months later. How is that X Bull doing?
I have ran this thing into the ground and it is still running good..I did notice you do not want to run the chain very loose as it will throw it if you do

@@mickeykim3559 Yeah the one I have says 58cc's on the side but it probably is 52. Like you say cheap plastic but it has a rather powerful motor. I bought a wooded half acre that I have pretty much cleared out with this saw. I paid $88 off of ebay and I wouldn't hesitate to pay it again.
