A Monster Sized CSX I010 Intermodal Cruises Through Voorheesville, NY with a SD70MAC Leader -7/28/24

Train Symbol: CSXT I010 (EB to Port Newark, NJ)
Power: CSXT 4736 (SD70MAC), CSXT 3000 (ES44AH), CSXT 7508 (CM44AH); 3x0x0
Consist: Intermodal (225 cars!)
Resolution: 4k with 30 FPS (iPhone 14 Pro Max)
After we left Canaan that day (see previous video of mine), we headed to the CSX yard in Selkirk, NY, but after driving around the vicinity of the yard for a bit, we confirmed our belief that there is no easy access to see any action in the yard. So we moved onto our next stop of the day: Voorheesville.
We figured we'd get some decent action on the CSX Selkirk Sub, with the bonus of getting to see the as yet inactive NS Voorheesville Connector to see the future route of Pan Am Southern's intermodal trains to Ayer, MA. We saw a number of trains there, took some pictures of the new junction, and had lunch at the Northern Barrell Pub right down the street (within walking distance!). All was excellent!
This was the second train we saw in Voorheesville. It was an eastbound intermodal monster, with a whopping 225 cars, mostly wells but with some flats on the tail end, plus the bonus of the geometry boxcar on the headpin. Oh, and it had an SD70MAC leader, which is moderately rare - especially for us MA railfans!

Nice catch. Definitely unusual for I010 to come in the afternoon. I010 usually comes 4 - 5 or 6AM
Interesting. I can't remember how we came to believe it was I010. I think I heard it on my scanner. But my son also had a friend over in Amsterdam, telling us what was headed our way, including train ID's, so we may have gotten it from him. But if you think it's unlikely to have been I010, I can't argue with you since I'm a Massachusetts guy. :-) That's only my third time railfanning in the Albany area. Always an enjoyable time though!
