A good watch again 👍 I`ve had the very same blow up mattress for the last 3 seasons and they are great, the make a bed chair 100 times more comfy and they are durable 👍
Just finished watching your last video now onto this one. Never disappoints! At least you got a pike on the bank. In my opinion, Zander are definitely getting harder to catch along the Fen drains. A double figure Zander is an excellent fish to catch, let alone a smaller one. Haven't caught one for years, even using fresh water baits. But I do mainly fish all around Whittlesey, so that might be the reason why. Could be more productive on other stretches of drains.
The Nene in Peterborough (railworld) used to be my go to stretch 20+ years ago always used to catch! Zander are rarer than hens teeth theses days sadly
@Fishing4Pleasure it's sad really because they are a great fish to target. Currently being 38 years old when I was alot younger i remember seeing dead Zander along the river bank on the 40 foot where they had been caught and killed because they are a none native species. Back then I couldn't understand why they were persecuted but I'm sure it's definitely had an effect on them now. Plus all the other challenges they face to survive!
Nice one Mark. I fished that swim & under the bridge on the Ouse last winter. I blanked as well! what power rods are you using for Zander, please? I've fished stillwater for them & used 1.75 & 2lb tc. My pike rods are 2x 2.75 & 1 x 2.5tc fox xs. Would I be better sticking with them? Hope you get your double figure Zander mate. Mines only a tiddler from bury hill, so a long way to go.
If no nuisance crabs etc. I like to use 1 to 1.5 tc rods for Zander almost like quiver tipping for Zeds on the deck any movement I strike. If using Pike rods I like to have instant indication for the small baits.
nice session mark shame no zander but like you said the good old pike saved the blank ,can see you getting your pb soon mate with all the effort you put in mate will look forward to seeing the video when you do bud ,stay safe mark good luck on your next session mate
I had a 14lb 8oz and a 10lb 2oz the other day have been trying for ages was buzzing when I got 2 doubles in 1 session I was fishing the tidal severn as it was rising and coloured
I definitely put the hours in you need to fish the tidal severn if you ever get the chance that's ur best chance of getting a few big doubles below tewkesbury weir plenty of then in there and pike been caught to 36lb
Fishing my local there mark. We’ll have to do a session. My pb zander is from just up from there at 12lb on a herring of all things Wrong end of the Ouse really for zander, I’ll message you at work at some point and tell you where
Good video mate I struggled at ten mile bank ,middle level has been productive for me
Great to hear about the middle. 10 mile can be very hit or miss
