A conversation between the legends!!!
@@nickjohnstonmusic son of a guitar
i was listening to this without knowing Guthrie was on this as well, but at one point I thought wait a minute, I know this phrasing. How great to hear the two of you together on the same record
ive passe for the same! Great surprise!
Oh, what the hell. They're so similar anyway, that I thought it was Nick the whole way through. Crazy!
They ought have more songs together >< that is an awesome guitar conversation
7:06 - 7:20 oh my word. Simply incredible.
Best bend I've heard change my mind
Still listening to that a year later... just wow. Possibly the most perfect 15 seconds on guitar.
we need a live version of this.
7:06 guthries answer to nicks incredible run is epic...well this song is epic..guitar number 1 and number 2 in the world together joining forces...impressive incredible..this in no battle but a cooperation..a guitar fest..thank you.
This might as well just be the aristocrats featuring Nick Johnston
This tune reminds me so much of Santana. Even before I started playing guitar as a kid, that was my favorite music.
I never noticed Guthrie was part of this song... I am a hugeeee fan of him, listen to all his stuff, and on my way home with my headphones I was thinking to myself "Wow Nick Johnston is so similar to Guthrie, the nuance, especially some parts of the song during the second half of soloing is so reminiscent of Guthries style, nota patterns and tonalities"... Little did I know, Guthrie was in on this! Awesome!
Thanks for watching guys!

i was listening to this song and suddenly my mom came into my room and told me to send her this song telling me that it is very beautiful. amazing track!!
your mum rocks!
The First Song For Listening and like this song , great song and playing Soul Guitaris From Nick Johnston and Gutrie Govan …
My First Listen Song @2015 ago 👍❤️🔥🤘😁🤘🤘🤘
I saw Nick Johnston up close and got this CD autographed. I can truly say I’ve seen a virtuoso guitar player. He was incredible and played through a Mesa Boogie amp. Imagine how good that sounded. My wife was unprepared for that level of virtuosity and was floored.
Wow. Literally the ultimate battle between two of the biggest melodic shredders at the end there!! The victor... Impossible to tell! I felt each player complimented the other whilst adding their own twists and turns to the solo! Honestly Nick, the fact you can go toe to toe with the legend that is Guthrie Govan like that means only one thing... that you sir are a legend too!!! Honestly man a phenomenal track with a jaw dropping ending! :)
Featuring, not battle, dear Sir. Victor? Of course impossible. It's not a competition track whatsoever anyhow.
Cahyo Amiseso We are the winners
as amazing as Nick Johnston is, I'm sure he's pretty happy just having Govan on the track and being able to keep up with him.
You tell right there why there's no victor. Because they are real musicians, not tryhards that play to show off some skills, they create beautiful músic and compliment each other, like talking/singing
This is one of those tracks that never lets you go. Holds you in your seat right until the end. Brilliant.
the tone is very santana like, playing is amazing by all!!
I just realised the video shifts synchronously between Nick and Guthrie's solos! That is so cool! :D
Karn Kaul don't know why but I expected to see u here
Hey Nick, any chance of there being footage of you guys playing?
If hearing this doesn't insprire you to pick up your guitar I don't know what.
Only to throw it out of the window. Just kidding. This piece is magnificent!
@@SantoshKuppens ha ha thank 4 that.
At the beginning of the piece, I also had urge to play Mario Kart. Sounds like the one on beach driving scene on that game.
GOOD GOD. YOU ARE SHEER MAGIC MAN.
Still (2023.), one of my fav on the playlist... \m/
2 Musicians on the top of their Game complementing each other. That was fantastic.
Cant wait for this new album!
I love the "exotic" style in this song. Nice playing !
this song makes me cry, its so much feeling.
Found this while looking through some Guthrie vids. Listened for about 2 minutes then went and downloaded the album. Hoping for some good stuff on there.

Wow! Amazing !!
The range of the scale somehow makes me wish Santana and his tone also in the mix. I really love it!
I just bought this album on bandcamp, mainly because of the beautiful "wonderful madness" and this absolute godlike Duett
It's like a sort of FUSION. Excellent. Thanks Gentlemen!!
wow what can you say to this, simply brilliant work by 2 of the greatest guitarists of our time
This is absolutely amazing!
Ridiculously awesome Nick!!!!
Nick Johnston's "Silver Tongued Devil" now playing in elevators the world over, specially those found in sinking cruise ships. ( It's the "visual " I got ..?)

Great track! Reminds me of one of my favorite albums, AL Di Meola's Elegant Gypsy. This will a great addition to my music collection.
will you mind sharing your great collection, come on we all gonna die some day!?
@@razeshbudhathoki Here you go Raj, but this is only part of it. You can find the rest if you search Elegant Gypsy. I once had, and had is the key word here, once had a half speed mastered copy of it, rather rare ua-cam.com/video/kCOgUeyWelI/v-deo.html

Honey to ears
the very best guitar players we have!!!
absolutely awesome!! :D
Epic-Cha-Cha-Core ......wah....loving it!! congrats to you all!! en francais je dirai que j ai pris le morceau en pleine tete...BIM BAM BOOOOM!!!
Que obra de arte wow! Desearía tocar así
This song changed my playing.
Try to listen the Govan part in slow, when every chord changes, the melody follows THE CHORD. (Perfectly applied)
If you cut some major chord and put in a loop, for exemple, Govan is gonna be sounding perfectly major/happy.
That's HUGE guys!
guy's a god
What else do you think, its guthrie frickin govan
It's that, and much more. Guthrie not only knows how to follow the chord, but knows how to arpeggiate chord substitions (arpeggiating a chord on top of another), other than altered chords, and all kind of freaky scales/arpeggios (like uh?? why is this working?).
When you think it can’t get any better, 7.35.... just Wow! Amazing playing amazing composition! 👍👍👍
That's my favorite part too... so hauntingly beautiful.
Sweet!
THIS is Funk'nAwesome!!!
And tha vid is dope too!
he doesnt even need to strum, he rubs his guitar like a genie
Nice kind of slow Bossa, love the tones.
Josh Brown At first I thought you were referring to Bonamassa... Lol! Joe should be afraid...very afraid of either of these monsters! They’ll rip him a new G string!
Very nice ❤️
So sick :D
super vid! rockn rolly!
I was going to compare and analyze what I liked about each of there improvisation but on second thought... This is just straight up awesome !
6:36 to 6:50 !! OMG!!!
Santana on steroids!! Lol
Best phrase of all the ones exchanged bewtween these monsters in my opinion
You mean 0:00 to 8:11?
Excellent latin track !! luv' it !!
& OMG wot a guest you found there .. haha .. Guthrie Powah !!
Wow.
idk how this doesnt have 1,000,000,000,000,000 views
Another beautiful track Nick! :o)
isn't he great(Guthrie too) what a great tune and a real masterclass on how to combine chops with melody
This is badass
